Fergie, "We're the luckiest team in the world. We were a disgrace of a performance. Miller and McLeish won the cup for Aberdeen. Miller and McLeish played Rangers themselves. They were a disgrace of a performance. And I'm not caring, winning cups doesn't matter. Our standards have been set long ago and we're not going to accept that from any Aberdeen team. No way should we take any glory from that".
i dont think so. fergie was well out of order. as has been said he did apologies. but he continues to make similar stupid remarks at UTD. hence you love him if you support aberdeen back then or are a UTD fan. if you dont then you dislike his arrogant weegie crap. i liked it in the 80's for aberdeen but have disliked the man ever since he left us to go to UTD. i know see what evryone elses sees in the man. an unsporting bully of a man with no respect for peple on occassions
Fergie set the benchmark for comments like this, Yes it was out of order, totally, and he regretted it and apologised to the players. But you can't say that any other top class manager is different? Benitez, Wenger, Mourinho to name a few, have the arrogance to say these things as well, because they are great managers.....they manage clubs AND players, and know how to get the best out of them by making remarks in the dressing room etc.
Personally, you hate him because you are a Chelsea fan :p
But you always back your manager when he's hated by others. I'm an Ipswich fan and if Roy Keane was going through the run he's having with us at any other club, I'd be laughing my ass off. Instead, I feel rather protective of him as the media go asking him if he'll be stepping down after 11 games, and I want Town to get that first win of the season for him, more than anyone else.
Typical Fergie, always wanting more, thats y the Dons were so successful back in the Fergie era. One of the greatest managers ever at Aberdeen. Stand Free!
cheer up fergie ya miserable fcker haha

To be fair, I think Cloughie might have done the same thing, if the team performed the same way.

This is the now infamous statement by Fergie at the end of the match, which he regretted saying in the days following the game.

Watch the giant mass of Rangers fans behind Fergie (one himself i might add)
Singing away as if they'd won the cup themselves
Magnificent Support.
