Soilder IMO jst an overall good class that can death with anything coming its way plus adrenaline rush might make your shots slower but once you perk it up and put hardered rush on they enemies pretty much freeze and your movements stay the same on top of that cooldown is like 5 weps

I beat both ME1 and ME2 with soldier and vanguard. Soldier was nice, especially in mass effect 2 and vanguard was even better. I want to try a new class so I can have an all paragon game for me3. I am leaning towards Adept or Sentinel. LOVE Biotics, and a good submachine gun will do the trick for me. I was nevver a tech expert so I might want to try Sentinel, but Adept just looks like pure fun. Not really interested in Infiltrator or Engineer, but any tip or advice will be helpful.

The classes are divided in 2. The kind that force you to use teammates and the kind that make teammates irrelevantish. Soldier, Vanguard, and Infiltrator are all awesome on their own. The other 3 rely too much on teammates dishing out damage since you can't.

@pyder31 I've played as Soldier, Vanguard & Sentinel. If I needed too with Sentinel I could easily go through the entire game without a squad because of the wide array of powers at hand. I don't need another squad member for crowd control if there are too many enemies and I don't need anyones help taking down pesky shields either there's nothing a Sentinel can't deal with with ease. But I will admit Vanguard is my favorite class to play as mostly because of charge.

I cant decide whether to go with sentinel vanguard or infiltrator. I can snipe really well but i still like going in close range, i can take down people quickly but then again i prefer silent and instant which class should i choose?

@Playstation3userr My main classes are soldier and vanguard. You can get close with the soldier and use ad.rush to use a shotty point blank. But I started to mess with the infiltrator class. By far one of my favorites. Sentinel is balanced, tech+biotic abilities. But if you want a challenged go vanguard on insanity.

Infiltrator - While the class is best known for sniping and long range combat, you can always use the tactical cloak to get in close when you're feeling dangerous. However I wouldn't recommend it if you like playing on Insane.

I've played all six classes and I enjoyed all of them but the Infiltrator is the class I'll be carrying over to ME3.

HOW TO BEAT MASS EFFECT ON INSANITY:

Step 1. Import level 60 Mass Effect 2 Character

Step 2: Buy Firepower Pack

Step 3. Pick Soldier as your class

Step 4: Put 10 points into Adrenaline Rush and 4 into Incendiary Ammo

Step 5: Play game, max out passive, pick Commando.

Step 6: Shoot everything

Not even kidding. That goddamn Adrenaline Rush Mattock Inferno Ammo Combo let's you kill entire room fulls of enemies in one burst, and it recharges in less than three seconds.

yes it's true that you won't be as tough as a sentinel, but if you use good tactics with the help of the cloak, you'll be untouchable :)

and yes, sniping out bad guys in slow-mo from safe distance also helps keep you unharmed and is a great fun (Y)

@allbn The Solider is the most potent in pure combat, but it got a bit repetitive to me. Very strong but not terribly interesting.

The Adept is great with Miranda and Thane, but it's not a great class early on the higher difficulties. But once you build up a few powers, it's Warp explosion hell for enemies. It quickly blossoms into one of the most dangerous classes with biotic upgrades, and you really don't need to worry about running out of ammo anymore, although I do use the SMG for shields.

Try an Adept. It gets incredibly underrated. Singularity is one of the best powers in the game. In addition to taking unprotected enemies off their feet for Warp explosions, you can also use it to lock up enemies, even foes like Harbinger. It can even drain shields a bit. It's great to lock up an enemy then bring down their defenses, immediately sucking them into Warp death. Use w/ Thane and Miranda.

@xmeat No, doesn't seem so to me. A few parts are tough, but that goes for most classes as well. Pair up with Miranda and Thane and you can run over most enemies. I actually double checked to make sure it was on Insanity last time I played as an Adept because I was obliterating everything with Warp explosions and hardly taking any damage. You can throw out a Singularity every few seconds when you're powered up.

@Burnitopia If you hit a strong enemy in the head with Assassin Cloak (+75%) and Tungsten Ammo (+70%) with the Widow maxed and saw his lifebar disappear, you would have remembered that. Also, how can you not see the tactical value of being able to disappear for 6 seconds with a sniper class? Easy escapes and free headshots.

It's not really accurate to say that only the Soldier can use assault rifles. During the mission on the Collector ship, you get the chance to either upgrade your assault rifle, sniper rifle or shotgun, but you can also choose to get access to a new weaponskill, one of them being the assault rifle... So yes, only the soldier can use it for the entire game, but everyone can use it if you choose to learn that skill

I found the soldier best. Because the assualt rifle realy makes everything easier. with imported adept lvl 40 i used 15 hours to complete the game. but with the soldier lvl1 i took me 13 hours just because of the assualt rifle

Infiltrator for stealth and sniping

Vanguard for close quarters "Fuck em up" style

@Toxicman3329 Having the downloadable Geth Plasma Shotgun is awesome for Vanguards! Either that or upgrade to the mother of all shotguns onboard the collectorship. I usually play as either Infiltrator or Sentinel, mostly Infiltrator for the massive damage they can do! Not least towards the end of the game. With the Widow Antimaterial Rifle, all sniper upgrades and Assassination Cloak i can kill a Scion with two shots, even on insanity!

Here is my Opinion:

Soldier/Sentinel/Infiltrator: Fastest/easiest way to get through the game and still enjoy all the goodies of Mass Effect 1 and 2.

Vanguard/Adept: Most fun class to use. But die more often than not. Adepts can render enemies useless but on harder difficulties it perishes. Vanguard's Charge and the use of shotguns are fun but expose you to the enemy too many times.

Engineer: Don't know much about it really. Its not the most loved class. =)

My personal favorite is Sentinel.

i started out with a sentinel, then eventually got assault rifle training. before the training i was like this would be perfect if i had a assault rifle. yeah love it now. start with pistols, smg or machine pistol and heavy weapon so getting the assault rifle makes it great for me. i think you can choose snipers or shotguns if you dont want the assault rifle training.
