  • goosebumps

  • beautiful voice... she has so much passion when she sings! And yep, simba is bloody gorgeous too!

  • i would laugh if simba faceplanted into the pond xD

  • Her voice is amazing. And that man is beautiful!

  • Rafiki is badass from 1:15-1:19. Like you wanna f**K with me, I would like to see you try! lol

  • Dang Simba you're FIIIINNNEEE AAASSS shut your mouth! lol

  • I got multiple chills now THIS Was my childhood! And I loved it...! 90's Disney all the way!

  • Such a powerful song. Jason Raize, who played the original Simba, was truly amazing. Look him up in youtube! Despite his talent and charisma, he was very unhappy and eventually committed suicide. But he will always live in us.

  • That was great but I just saw the show for the second time (11 years apart) and was in awe of the immensely talented Tshide Manye singing this in the Broadway version - she is absolutely unbelievable!

  • What the heck is this the same lady that plays Rafiki in the states? She was 100x better than this when I saw the play last Thursday.

  • Saw this today in London, it was incredible!

  • simba is so cute!!! I mean the grown one on here

  • THAT LADY IS SCARY!!!!! :d I WOULD NOT WANT TO GET IN A ARGUMENT WITH HER

  • great stuff but Jason Raize made it just that little bit more special!!!

  • 00:33 to skip straight to the song :)

  • Went last night (y)

  • i went and watched this in london. just got back from there 3 days ago. it was truly amazing. the cast was fantastic and so breathtaking!

  • It is a Disney production but features a South African cast in the theatre productions - largely. As allot of the background singing you hear is in Xhosa.

  • epicness! so going to watch it again lmao! :)

  • HE IS A HOTTIE........

  • i was in london and watched the musical in october. I cried, it was amazing :)

  • It makes me so happy to see a fellow South African performing internationally and doing so well at it. Great stuff :)

  • @riderx48 l was very shocked to hear that this show is an American thing, l mean their idea.l always thought this show belongs to South African people its their idea. is this true? However l dont mind, l like it, its a great show, l have seen it two times now, in New York and in London, and l am planning to go and see it again..

  • @88motho The production is American. Disney. The lady who is singing in this theatrical version is from Durban, South Africa. Home language is Zulu (isiZulu). The music is mostly cultural stuff from South Africa too. The art is also inspired from Africa. A great concept, both the movie and the theatrical version.

  • @riderx48 Thanks for the reply.

  • holy shit that woman can sing!

  • Goosebumps

  • I love this song<3

  • I'm sure she was the Rafiki when I went to see it and her name is Brown Lindiwe Mkhize. I love this show so much :D

  • Who acts out Rafiki in this video? Simba?

  • her voice is amazing! I have chills every time I watch this video!!

  • the best rafiki ever that sung this song !!!!

  • This makes people feel that if one of there relitaves died they still live inside of them .

  • I love this musical. Soooooooooooo perfect made!

  • Is she singing live? That was bloody amazing, some of these singers are so underrated.

  • @AuroraWhispers yeah. i thought she was lip syncing too but then i realized their mics are on their foreheads. kinda hard to notice.

  • @AuroraWhispers not quite underrated. they sing in Broadway productions. It's sad that their music isn't played on the radio though. Another amazing performer you may want to search up is Idina Melzel. She's a little more well-known, but same concept.

  • I really, really wish they'd record and release the stage version of TLK on DVD. It's so, so amazing and stuff like this sends chills down my spine! This Rafiki is amazing, wow.

  • this woman is spectacular <3 she's so powerful!

  • I could not stop laughing at 1:14- 1:18!!! SO FUNNAY.. it was like HOBAKUSIMAKWAAKWAAAAA xDD

  • @fanceycakes hahahahah i love that part :DD

  • 0:32 is what you came here for.

  • Blaming the fact i'll never get to be simba is because i'm white

  • This is nothing against the american cast but this rafiki is far superior to the American one.

  • i love this rafiki the control of the voice is stupendous. her voice is doing gymnastics

  • i still prefer the original

  • woah dude chill o . o anybody can appreciate lion king. I find this quite gorgeous

  • that rafiki was dopeeeeeeeeeeee

  • I love Lion King on Broadway. It wouldn't be so popular if it didn't exist on Broadway first! It is awesome to see the best Disney movie come to life on stage and they should definitely make Simba's Pride into a play and make a next generation movie!

  • I got to see this cast... and they were amazing. It was better when I saw it than it was for this performance, but it was still AMAZING!

  • DUMB STUPID TRASHY ASS AMERICANS WILL NEVER HAVE ANYTHING LIKE THIS, ITS ALL ABOUT LONDON, AMERICANS DON'T BELIEVE IN ANYTHING LIKE THIS ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS MONEY MONEY MONEY SMH SAD ):

  • HAHEHIHOHU

  • Amazing!!!

  • this looks like fun

  • What a voice... Amazing if something... And the dude that plays simba wasn´t bad either... Anyone that knows who it is?

  • @Kevin8450 Andile Gumbi, i love him sooo much :') ♥ xx

  • @Dare2Dream277 Well I do love his voice and he is a very good actor... Not to mention that he is a good looking Simba ;-)

  • different then most American versions, the desired goosebumps effect is not

  • Truely breathtaking

  • Damn, she's amazing

  • I wanna take her home and have her sing to me all the time!

  • i wish i could be a rafiki...I wouldnt need that hat, i have that hairstyle O_O

  • This is easily the best Rafiki I've ever seen! x

  • The Lion King lives in us *-*

  • I remember seeing this and dying inside.

  • Omg, i have chills....brilliant performance!

  • Oh. My. God! I've been to the musical 3 times and I've NEVER EVER seen such an amazing and passionate Rafiki!

Does anybody know who played it at this performance?

  • @Rijndael90 Brown Lindiwe Mkhize is Rafiki here & she is amazing

  • @powerstar09 Thanks! Absolutely ...

  • @Rijndael90 Your Welcome ;)

  • @Rijndael90 i dunno who she is but it's still her doing it; i went to see it last year (for the 3rd time as well lol) and i'm pretty sure it was her

  • @pantstelly93 Well, I didn't notice it was the London Cast. I have to admit that I saw her last year too (also the 3rd time) but didn't recognize her. She didn't improvise that much in the show, did she?

  • You know what I find amaing? The simple fact that they can perform a song using both English and Afrikkan, and it sound amazing at the same time =D

    SO want to see them

  • @MajorWinxFanatic Don't want to be a killjoy, but they aren't singing in Afrikaans. It's Swahili if I'm not mistaken. If not it's Zulu, Shona or Xhosa. Definitely not Afrikaans though. Agree with you though entirely.

  • Lol they look so dramatic :-) even for a play

  • I love the woman who plays rafiki!!!

  • i replayed 1:16 ten times

  • Both are great but the woman playing Rafiki is awe inspiring. That's how you sing and that's how you act. She lends something to the character itself. What a privilege to watch this.I love her xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Oh gosh i Saw this show a few days ago It is brilliant!!!!!!!

  • WHOA at the woman's passion. She just made me love the song even more!

  • beautiful performance & song

  • saw this in london in April and I must say, it was incredible and the lady who plays rafiki was incredible... much better than the one on broadway!

  • my friends thuli is one fo the dancers, i know a lot of the cast they are really nice people

  • OH MY GOD AWAZING, SIMPLY AMAZING

  • I love this sooo much- I watched when I was 6 and I can still remember it like it was yesterday I <3 the anything to do with the Lion king. The actors are really good

  • She gave me chills

  • this makes me cry. I have NEVER witnessed a musical full of such passion as Lion King

  • @littlelottesangel Made me cry too, and I'm 22 and a dude!

  • @littlelottesangel i know what you mean!!!! it is completely moving... i cried through half of the musical when i went to see it... and i'd see it again if it ever comes back to toronto!!!

  • anyone else like in love with this woman?

  • I saw this the other day live In canada and wow amazing

  • i saw this on a diffrent show and the lady said to avenge his father's death

i've seen both broadway and the movie version of it and it seems more like revenge his fathers death. i meen come on wen he found out he didt kill his father Simba had murder on his mind

  • I think she is Sharon D. Clarke. Is she?

  • @csmarcsi2 Brown Lindiwe Mkhize

  • My mom walked in when the lady yelled mm WAIT! And my mom thought was me and walked out. :D She said she was scared. :D

  • Do anyone know a version of this song with this singer, she does it the best!

  • Best you just don't bother watching GMTV like the rest of us. It's middle england ignorance TV

  • @BlackcurrantC I couldn't if I tried. It got replaced by Daybreak a while back.

  • @Niallissoawesome that's not doing too well either it seems. I still love the rosie o'donnell broadway version '97 with Jason Raize and Stuart E Wright.

  • THE BEST SHOW YOU'LL EVER SEE.....IT WAS BEAUTIFUL....

  • i cant stop crying when i hear this song, what is wrong with me?

  • @tutsiwitchking

Nothing Tutsi... it touches you where it should.

  • that wale was cool!!!:)

  • The 97' Rosie O' Donald "He lives in you" performance is the best ever, this shit is a disgrace.

  • This always makes me cry, but nothing can compare to seeing it live.

  • The guy presenter seemed so bland. "Oh that was fabulous. I'd say Simba's grown up a bit." So bland and boring and such a stereotypical British person.

  • i always thought that Rafiki was a guy???

  • @TheSkittels98 wait...rafiki's not a guy? =O

  • @TheSkittels98 In the real story of The Lion King Rafiki doesn't exist. Then in the film he is a male, but in the musical Rafiki is this woman.

  • I absolutely love this... Oh my god.

  • this graphici is the best one out there!

  • @lucycute07 chill out and enjoy the performance, so she got like 2 things wrong. big whoop. its not like she explained a completely different disney film to the lion king, she just shortened it down as it would take a long time for her to explain the story fully.

  • not many things put a tear to my eye but this is amazing

  • When i went to see it

the person who played older simba was very very nice ;)

  • wow

  • I played young Nala in The Lion King and I know the cast very well. Absolutely fantastic as ever!

  • this rafiki is better than the broadway one, but the original broadway simba is 20x better than this simba.

  • The woman who plays Rafiki is absolutley amazing! she everytime i watch this i get goose bumps! x

  • Am I the only one who skipped through the first 30 seconds of the video to get to the amazing song? :D Love how incredible this show is - saw it last year on Broadway..... Only one word= EPIC!!!

  • I saw this last week, the sae cast i think. Was amazing! This woman's voice is so powerful.

  • oh my god. amazing. see it in the west end and is the most wonderful thing ive seen! :)

  • Rafiki is Amazing, so so powerful.

  • You can feel the strong emotion throughout the whole performance, so much passion is rare. :)

  • Why haven't I such a great voice?

  • i've seen this , it was amazing !

  • Most memorable and affecting performance. Bravo! R.I.P. Jason Raize [Simba]

  • that Simba was a bad one... He kinda weaned off a lot of the lines that were supposed to be sung with powerful belting of notes...

  • isnt this song from the lion king 2

  • I SAW THE MUSICAL IN TORONTO :D A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

  • Love this song! Where in London last week and saw the musical, almost cert-en that its the same cast? Amazing show, and this song really gave you the chills listening to it!

  • @Knock1Please I disagree...when Disney (the company obviously not the person) adapted this for the stage, they wanted to make this character female to give the song a stronger female presence.

  • 12 hyenas disliked this.

  • She did say The lion king and said he would become Lion King.

  • 11 dislikes... how can you dislike this

  • pretty good for an in studio production!

  • I actually saw this show on Broadway :D

It brought me to tears :')
