  • See you oakham :)

  • nicely done..but, could you correct the text on the intro? ..its Catmose,,,,,, not Cat A mose ...

  • Strange thing is YTain'tit?!

I acknowledged your sub and went back to look at my comment on your video -Hmmm - not there.

    Will try again.

  • Its here now...thank you, appreciate it :)

  • My sister lives in Edith Weston in a house overlooking Rutland Water and my mother lives in Wing. It is a very beautiful part of our country.

I love your music on your other channel.

    .x.

  • I've been through Edith Weston many times. Overlooking Rutland Water...wow! definitely sounds like a view i'd like to wake up to every morning.

My other channel is my regular one, although i'm working on a new album at the moment and i dont want to get too distracted by watching too many videos...so i thought i'd take a break and hang out here for a while

  • Rob, Do Melton And Grantham if you pass through!

Gr8 Vids keep up the good work.

  • I dont believe it...i went through Grantham today but i didnt have my camera!! next time, i promise.

I didnt want to do Melton so soon after Oakham (with them being so close together, but im sure i'll get round to it one day soon)

    Thanks for stopping by :)

  • Moved here 5 yrs ago, been attacked 3 times 1 during the day, didn't even know them, I've had two cases of criminal damage to my cars, one got the guy, police fined, I got nothing for the damage, second I got his name and prints but the police said they couldn't do anything, my son has visited, he lives in a large town he has been offered more and a wider range of drugs in the parks around Oakham school than in his home town...Things are not always what they seem in sleepy Oakham and its schools

  • Apparently they aren't, very sorry to hear that happened. I guess you can never really know a place until you've lived there, but i think there's an ugly undercurrent in most towns and cities across the UK these days. I wish you well for the future. Thanks for stopping by

  • @busternorris

you must be an annoying twat to be attacked in Oakham.I have lived here 25 years and haven't been aware of any unusual amounts of trouble. You are right about drugs though.

There is a dark side to every town.

  • Fabulous vid again Rob! Most enjoyable! Cheers! P.S. The backing music, yours?

  • Thank you. I'm planning on posting quite a few vids, so i haven't got the time to write music for them...imcompetech...never thought i'd see the day when i was using someone else's music for my vids.lol

  • i live there and its the best place i eva lived

  • Good stuff, its a nice town...and a lot less hassle to get through now the bypass is finished!!

  • Beautiful town! What a great tradition! Thanks for giving us a tour:)

  • Thank you, and thanks for the sub

(its Rob by the way..riverman...wasnt sure if you knew)

  • No way!! LOL:) Are you trying to escape from singing?

  • No, just trying to bring the joys of the UK into everyone's homes.lol

(does this mean you haven't seen my latest song?? Im far from trying to escape singing!)

    *spot the advertisement* LOL!

  • You need to advertise "american way" (very aggressive...LOL)

No, not yet...it's on my list:):)

  • hey- where is my comment: ok also if i say it twice: thats a fantastic idea!!! and i wanted to recommend myself as freelancer for towns in italy, india, hawai and i have some other ideas...:) please more- thats really great!

  • Hey Daniela, thanks for watching. There'll be a lot more to come very soon. You should have chased that goal of travelling the world, it sounds amazing...and to get paid for it too, well, thats perfect

  • hi, my friend!

  • Rob, you must have the best car out there.

    Camera don't shake at all.

Where do you fix the camera?

  • Im in a big van, much higher up than the cars, so i get a better view. The passenger seat has an adjustable head rest, so i can push it down to stop the camera from moving about...its basically trapped between the head rest and the top of the seat...hope that made sense.lol

  • Great video Rob, as much as I like Rutland, I died a salesman's death there a few years ago and they never sent me back, thankfully! Oakham, Uppingham and Marker Harborough are great for a visit though!

You get a better view from the lofty driving position of your van than I do in my little Astra!:)

  • I prefer Uppingham, its cuter, but Oakham was on my way home.lol Driving a larger vehicle has lots of positives...people get out of your way for one...thanks Anthony

    Thank you xx

  • I like these videos...also the old schools of the towns. A little like Hildenborough or Tonbrigde in Kent!

    Thanks for sharing Rob...

  • Thank you Heidi. I wish i could show more of the town itself, but unfortunately thats not possible from being the wheel. Tonbridge is very nice, hopefully i'll get back there one day and film it :)

  • makes me feel I am there.

    great job!

  • Thanks Renata. Stay tuned for the next one..coming soon

  • Both entertaining AND informative!! Any good pubs in Oakham?!! ;-))

    xo

  • Thank you Carolyn.

Actually, there are a few good pubs. I've only been out in the town for one night, but unfortunately the pub that sticks out in my mind most was one that played music so loud you couldnt hear yourself think, let alone talk. We drank up and moved on swiftly.lol

  • Nicely done,my friend!

  • hehe! thank you Tom. Something else to keep me busy!

(I have a little suprise for you very soon, stay tuned to that email account of yours, it might just make your day)

  • Don't tell me I've won the on-line lottery in the UK again! That'll be the fourth time this week!

  • Its the one from Nigeria...you know, the one where you have to pay them a stack of cash first..its no con, honest.lol

  • I know that one also...I am so lucky! I like this very much Rob.I should know England quite well between your videos,Anthony's and Lisa's. It is really a treat (except for the nervousness at the "wrong side of the road" thing) *****

  • I'm proud of England and i want to show her off to the world..saves everyone from actually coming here and standing in the rain.lol

  • You are a thoughtful man,Sir Rob...

  • What a beautiful town! Thanks so much for sharing, this was a wonderful video! I'd love to visit Europe one day, in the meantime your vids are very much appreciated :)

  • Thank you very much. Plenty more to come :)

Thank you for the sub too, appreciate it

  • Wonderful Rob. I love Britain and came only hope to visit some time. Thanks for the tour, and I will be waiting for more.

    Your friend, Doctor Dave

  • Thanks Doc. I wish i could show more than traffic jams, but i dont really have the time to stop! At least you can get a feel for towns.

    new one v soon

  • Watching you driving on the left side of the road was a thrill in it's self. That would be so hard for me to get used to as it probably was for you here on the right. :]

However...I will be looking for the traffic jams as you say.

    I'll be waiting!

Take care of your self and family...Doc

(I need to use spell check more often ;)

Wow!! Well done young man :)

  • Thank you :D

  • Brill new channel young man - great idea!

    Loving the dinky music too.

We'll have to do some footage from way down here - preferably on a sunny day - lol

GG said Ben went sailing at Rutland :)

    5*****

  • Thank you Mrs K :)

Dinky music courtesy of Mr Macleod Im afraid...dont want to impose my own songs on everyone all the time.lol

I'd love it if you could get some footage from down there. Been told its raining quite hard on the south coast at the moment, its about time you lot had it worse than us.lol

Ben certainly picked a good place to sail. Hope GG's exams are going ok, and i hope you're having a top w'end.

  • It is pretty horrid here - Amy's not far from us, so just the same I guess :S I was gardening this morning - lol - cos it was lovely and sunny - thanks for sending it our way - hmmm! - you were just jealous! grrrr! ;)

Our towns down here would probs only be about 1 minutes footage - lol

  • Of course i'm jealous!! i'd live in a shed at the bottom of your garden if i could.lol

A minute from each town, and 30 seconds of you making a cup of tea, and i think we'd have a video.lol

  • Now that you've sent us your yukky weather there probs wont be a shed at the bottom of the garden by tomorrow morning!!! :P

You'll have to bring your camera down when you come on your hols - lol

  • Of course i will. I hope i'll be shooting more than towns though, i think i'll be bored of that by then.lol

  • Well done, Rob. Interesting town. Guess if I ever visit, I can leave the horseshoe home 8)

  • Im sure they'd be putting the red carpet down for you :) Lots more interesting towns to come, a new one tomorrow i hope.

  • Very nice, i can visit places without going out in the pouring rain.lol xx

  • hehe! Thats the idea :)

...and you get to learn something new about a place you may never go, at the same time!

  • And staying dry is a bonus...lol xx

  • Always!! lol

(new one up tomorrow....thats another beauty about this, never knowing where i've been or where i'm going next.lol...can you take the tension?? LOL!!)

  • So now i may get to see a video of your trips down south....You wouldn't want to be here at the moment, it's horrible. Very windy and pouring with rain :( xx

  • I certainly hope there'll be plenty of vids from towns down south, you know how much i love them!

I bet its windier here than it is there.lol..and i haven't got a coat with me :(

  • It's awful...i opened the back door and got drowned, lol the kitchen floor is soaked just opening the door...there's no way i'm going anywhere tonight. xx

  • *sends a towel and a copy of 'best of strictly' on dvd so she can put her feet up and relax for the evening....and be dry* :D

  • Thank you xx
