I listen to Chopin, perform many of his pieces, and even know who Harry Potter is ...but don't particularly care for the works of J. K. Rowling ...for fantasy i'd prefer J.R.R. Tolkien

I know who Harry Potter is and also listen to Chopin. Know Poland as well just visiting Warsaw in October (Chopin piano competition). Have some idea of national Polish music and have a Polish name as well!

Romanticism regards to love and passion, not only towards other sex; men or women, but also love, yearning, nostalgia for lost homeland, patriotism etc.
Today the new generation flatened and trivialised the idea of "romantisicm" that Chopin or List had in mind.
Totally agreed. Chopin's Scherzo No. 1 Op. 20 is a perfect example of a Romantic piece that is meant for a feeling of anger towards Poland's unsuccessful revolution against the Russians, and not for love between men and women.

To co dał nam Szopen, to to, że chociaż przez niecałe 7 minut możemy poczuć się dumni z własnego narodu.
Interpretacja przyznam jakaś taka.. oryginalna, ale tych nutek nie da się zepsuć żadną interpretacją. :)

For Poles, when they hear Chopin music used in the comercial of comfortable shoes for middle aged women in US, they feel disgust...
According to statistics, Chopin music is the most popular theme used in movies from Hollywood and around the world.
