@Kurasza ZOO znajduje się po praskiej stronie Wisły. W czasie powstania Sowieci zapewne dokarmiali tam niedźwiedzie i patrzyli na agonię miasta na drugim brzegu rzeki.

The soldiers in the Warsaw Uprising were pretty much utterly doomed from the start, with little hope of resupply or relief, but they fought anyway. God forbid I'm ever faced with such a plight, but if I am I would be proud of myself if I had half their courage.

The picture at 2:06 with the five of them sat down the, on far right is Jan Chmielewski and is my uncle. The other four didn't make it. His sister, my mother was also there and decorated as a nurse.

Polska utraciła swój dawny charakter. Dziś trudno spotkać ludzi szanujących, kochających i szanujących ojczyznę. Niemcy wymordowali większość polskich patriotów, inteligencję, a nawet sportowców. During the urban combat approximately 25% of Warsaw's buildings were destroyed. Following the surrender of Polish forces, German troops systematically leveled 35% of the city block by block. Together with earlier damage suffered in the invasion of Poland (1939) and the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (1943), over 85% of the city was destroyed by January 1945, when the Soviets finally entered the city. :(

My grandpa was fighting in UK (Scotland) during II WW for Poland and Poland is my Country. I will always love you...and I am crying now...and asking myself why....why we could not defend our land...

The picture at 2:06 with the five of them sat down the, on far right is Jan Chmielewski and is my uncle. The other four didn't make it. His sister, my mother was also there and decorated as a nurse.

@marcosking8 Thats definitely my uncle and thats the story he told me amongst others. There are other pictures including my uncle but he is more obscured. I still have my mothers decoration who passed away recently.

They were neutrals,in that area,where they controlled to city,the polish supplylines were clear,the polishs was able to smuggle weapons,and food!The hungarian soldiers defended the polishs citizens,they let them sing their own national hymn in their churches.The germans had shoot a lot of hungarian,cuz of defending polish civil's.
Some of the hungarians fought on the rebel's side.

The hungarian troops were first in south Varszawa,then in north.They refused to help to the germans,they helpd to the polish troops.
