He is a great player. No doubt. He was with Edomonton when they made their cinderella run, won the cup with the Ducks the year after, and he was instrumental in carrying Philly to the Cup finals. It's called sizing the guy up, getting low and delivering your shoulder to the opponent's head or chest. It can be done. I am not saying he never leaves his feet first, but he has worked on that aspect of checking over the past 2-3 years. He has a record and because of that, he gets called sometimes for legal checks. Pronger has had a history of dirty hits. Just look at his hit on Holmstrom a few years back along with Neidermeyer. O And lets not forget the hit on Dean McAmmond from the Senators in the Cup Finals.
I agree hockey is a "man's game." But it's also a game of respect and the players are expected to show some class. Pronger doesn't have much of either but I'd like to see him on my favorite team!!!

In his short fighting resume he has taken on such legit tough guys as handzus, freddy modin, dan cleary, sanstrom, macdonald, racine, doug bodger, glen wesley, etc......he's a great defensement but he is also easily the biggest spot picker in the league. Never mans up for his dirty play unless it's against non fighters. Real tough...

He is a great player. No doubt. He was with Edomonton when they made their cinderella run, won the cup with the Ducks the year after, and he was instrumental in carrying Philly to the Cup finals. This argument of a player being too tall and that the other guy's head is at elbow height is absurd. It's called sizing the guy up, getting low and delivering your shoulder to the opponent's head or chest. It can be done. Players like Pronger are too lazy and aren't interested in delivering a clean hit. If I was Pronger's coach I would be pissed off that he puts his team at risk of being shorthanded or suspended each time he chooses to deliver the lazy, cheap hits.

Pronger just carries a bigger reputation, that's to be expected from a player of his caliber. Hate him, or love him, he plays the game well. Take into consideration his height by the way. I'm honestly not a fan of Pronger, but people who make him to be public enemy number one are just haters obviously. It's like a toxic fad that will fade away when he is in the HOF.

I am not saying he never leaves his feet first, but he has worked on that aspect of checking over the past 2-3 years. He has a record and because of that, he gets called sometimes for legal checks. Pronger has had a history of dirty hits. Just look at his hit on Holmstrom a few years back along with Neidermeyer. O And lets not forget the hit on Dean McAmmond from the Senators in the Cup Finals.
