@PAGANGRL69 yesss!! he wasnt only an artist or a rockstar, he was a philosopher too. just his guitar sounds alone is philosophy to me. the lyrics are just something else. purity i will call it i guess. idk
strangely enough this song helped me get through a very very bad break up lool i adore this song man THANK YOU JIMI HENDRIX WHERE EVER YOU MAY BE MAN!
Jimi...the greatest ever....and also kudos to Leo Fender....!! For those of you who play guitar you know that the instrument acts as a faithful conduit for your 'soul' and what you are feeling. So...imo....it doesn't matter whether you have huge hands or mostly the use of only 2 fingers like Django. If you have great soul and love and feeling you will be heard. Where ever Jimi is...when it's my turn to leave I want a front row seat there...
if you are one of the 5 that have pressed dislike on this Hendrix video, I assure you that you will be found WHEREVER you are and slain like a rabid dog. Thank you and goodnight.
Best cover ever, better than the original! The only cover I can think of that's better than this one is the Sex Pistols' take on the Who's substitute!
VEVO can suck it! Thanks for uploading this!!! The way it should be...let the music speak for itself..not some video that Jimi would have hated!! Love this whole album!
"After a while I started getting aware too much of what was going down. It started to bring me down a little bit." -- Jimi Hendrix
I don't know why but this song has got to be my favorite of all of Jimi's Works. Little Wing and Castles Made of Sand are incredible, but this one has the length of a Jimi song that i crave
That's the thing see....Music during the time period cannot be reproduced. It's always a copy of something we have heard before. Yeah, that's right, before.....it went to shit.
Music died because of the internet and video games imo, People found things more fun to do then just play an instrument. Music became easier to make which is todays pop.
@peaceandmetal88 Thats not fair because its 40 years old and its better than anything that came out from then til now..Or maybe its just better than the things you hear from today, Underground is King
Heard this on the radio about 2 weeks ago for the first time, had to question if it was jimi or not during the first few bars. His voice sound unusual on this track. Spent a bit of time working out the song, from that I can tell his voice is auto tuned, the entire song seems to be crafted out of various takes. possibly the same take but some of the music is almost copied and pasted to string along sections of the song. Nice track all the same, great to hear jimi on the radio.
@MrUsernameIRL this was an unreleased song- done in 69 or probably 70 since billy cox played bass---no "auto tuning-or various takes"-the song was done on 4track equip that was used back then and so was the rest of valley`s of neptune-released last march 2010-the video for this song is made up tho
Not a playing alone but the voice..it´s so precence and fresh..i´t s like made in yesterday...what Jimi said one of his last interviews: "something new is to come, and for sure Jimi Hendrix will be there"
Fuck, dude... I wish music was still this good without having to go so far underground... the only reason I turned away from most modern rock is that absolutely none of it could ever hope to match up to the talent and creative spirit of the rock back then... granted, there are bands like Wolfmother that really do give me hope for the genre in modern times, most of the time underground acts are the only place to really find good stuff anymore. Radio, however, is dead.
@ImpendingRiot83 They probably wont last either though man. Any band that has true talent, does not have any chance at becoming successful after the year 2000. You either have to like soulless rap, soulless pop, or soulless faceless rock bands. Or even worse, that screamo hardcore shit.
@ImpendingRiot83 dude. if u love psychedelic rock, check out the brian jonestown massacre and the black angels. two great ass fuckin bands. bjm had their start in the 90s. n the black angels started in the 2000s. have faith man. ur right about having to go underground to find good music though. it sucks that u should have to do it but its so rewarding. especially when u find sum great ass bands

Today's youth have no culture of valid and relevant political rebellion. A movement that represents something better, a positive message lets say, represented by music that gets people's attention. The solution is to take the culture back from the corporate whores by actively working together to move against the system, anything less would be a waste of time. We have to boycott the system as much as possible and relate our action with the idea that we are in opposition to economic injustices.
@TheJoker7682 how about we make good music instead, i dont think inititiang some sort of communist overthrow is inducive to artistic expression, remember jimi wasnt politically motivated
What the hell are you talking about? Jimi Hendrix may not have been politically motivated personally, but his rendition of the Star Spangled Banner was certainly indicative of his thoughts on the state of affairs in 1969.
@hhg61 I disagree. With the exception of the first real spike in the 50s/60s when rock and roll was beginning, From the 1960 to 2010 we've seen consistant drops in good music. With guitarist's role models being Slash, who's like 94% image, 6% skill... I see no sign of getting out of this.
Almost every track played by Jimi is well worth a listening but this one is just a rehersal. Jimi was laying down the structure of the song without paying too much attention to the level of his playing. It' s unfair, to say the least, to release this kind of material. I will buy the Cd because I'm a Hendrix fanatic but I don't like Janie Hendrix's way of doing business.
@EZIOTHEMASTER you make a good point. but does a version that hendrix intended to release exist? otherwise, this'd be the only way of getting the song to the fans
@EZIOTHEMASTER dude, u serious? . were fortunate enough to even get the shit remastered. i'll tell you whats really unfair: there can be dudes calling themselves "a fanatic" yet still complain at the same time, like there's an abundace of unreleased studio recordings to throw around. the quality of this rehearsal puts most current releases on their ass. Maybe he couldve finished it for you if he hadnt died when he did
