  • Great post and review.

Only complaint is I wanted to hear all of 'You Don't Mess Around With Jim"! :)

    Cheers!

  • also how much this you get this for?

  • how is this compared to the 214?

  • Do you know if the wood is any different from the ones they make now?

  • @audioglass According to the Taylor guitar website, the 2012 314ce has a sapele back and side, and a sitka spruce top.

  • great playing! what is song name on 1:41??

  • @TheMrTaggy It's a cover by Eric Clapton called "Hey Hey" Off of his acoustic album "Unplugged".

  • I've heard a lot of people say Taylors play like electrics. Is that just because of the light gauge strings? And...whoa...were you trying to sing Jewel there? :)

  • @van1980 The light gauge strings certainly contribute to the playability, but lately i've been playing mediums and it still plays great, the neck is just very playable.

  • @robbiesieben

very beautiful guitar i agree! rob im planning to invest for a real guitar and i think 314ce will do a great job. werdu got it & how much did it cost you?

good playing by the way and great voice hope you can post some more covers.

    keep it up!

  • @keen20five I got it at Tobias Music in Downers Grove, Illinois. They were great and the service is unmatched, i spent somewhere close to 1600 dollars for it.

    Thanks!

    Rob

  • @robbiesieben

thats a steal! checking 314ce @ guitar center cost roughly $1600 need to save more money lol

lady gaga haha nice! awesome voice!

  • Love the sound of the guitar

  • Nice voice!! I'd love one but its way over my budget. Someday.....

  • unreal singing bro sweet guitar in trying to decide between this, the 214ce and the 114ce pretty much for price reasons but i want what sounds best so i'll probably end up with this

  • @Godwin117 The only pitch im going to give is that the 314 is where you start with an all solid wood guitar which, at least in my mind, does have some substance. There is a line between the all solid wood and the more "entry" pieced wood. Not to say the 114 or 214 aren't good guitars because by all means they are, but there is something to having a "real" acoustic. Regardless i'm sure you will be happy with whichever one you choose. Thank you for the kind comments and good luck with the search!

  • @robbiesieben noppppeee its the pick up ! 100 and 200 series have the old es t pickup while the 300 series + up have the new expression system

  • Why do they cost so much? They sound like any other guitar.

  • @rightwingted Build quality and design. Much like an automobile or anything really.

  • I just bought one of those with a case for $825. Can't get much better. Great playing and singing man.

  • Good! I'm looking into getting one, I think it's $1650 in Canada

  • Love this guitar - can't wait to buy my own soon! How much did it cost you?

  • @lovereid13 Right around 1550, something like that. Worth every penny in my book!

  • Hey Robbie. Nice to see you in the 314 club. You can pay your dues directly to me if you like. :-)

Sapele, by the way, is nothing but mahogany that grows naturally in Africa and South America. They just call it by a different name down there.

I'm seeing a lot of guys touring with the 314. It sounds just as good as a 914 if you find the right one, and you're not out an arm or a leg if it gets lost in flight. I don't know of a better sub-$2000 guitar being sold today.

  • Dude, Great review!! Loved the Neil Young cover!

  • Thinking of buying a Taylor very soon, whats the action like on this model?

  • @mac5742owns The action is great, its pretty low and very very easy to play. I would recommend playing one before doing anything else

  • If im not mistaken... I believe the Dreadnaught is larger than the GA... just clarifying.

  • @DrumminFoo92 My bad on that one, i tried to correct myself to the best of my abilities. Thanks

  • taylor 314 ce: best acoustic guitar in that price area

  • Great review! You are a very talented musician. My daughter is starting to get serious about performing, and I think this would be a great guitar for her.

  • @gjones0316 Thanks a lot. If she's looking to have a beautiful "real" guitar that she can grow and live with then i would have no hesitation in getting this Taylor. My biggest suggestion would be for her to play all different makes and models. Each guitar has its own distinct tone and playability factor. There should really not be a big rush into anything when your spending this kind of money on a guitar. Thats my two cents! Thanks

  • You made the right choice mate ! Got same model 10 years ago August 11th 2000.. !And they just get better, both sound and looks wise ! It`ll loosen up the more you play it and the bridgepiece and nut develop a lovely off white patina ! You`ll never want to trade it mate ! Peace Ye`all !!

  • Nice review! Beautiful guitar. I ordered this Taylor off of eBay last night. I got it for $1136 so I definately got it for a good price. I can't wait to get it and I hope its in the condition promised. The seller has a good reputation so I have a good feeling that this Taylor will be as promised(That's a risk with eBay). I got to try a bunch of the Taylor acoustics along with other makers at Guitar Center, and I knew that this was the right guitar for me. It's definately a great guitar. Enjoy!

  • @Guitarist6146 Very very cool. I had looked on Ebay for quite some time and i just couldn't bring myself to do it. At any rate, best of luck to you and your new investment, I hope she treats you as well as mine does me!

  • @robbiesieben Thanks. It took me a while to bring myself to do it because I had $450 and was planning on getting a PS3, but my dad told me a while back that if I could come up with half of the money for a nice guitar like that, then he would pay the other half. Towards the end of the auction i went with my gut. It's that feeling where you just know everything will be ok. So this will be my 4th guitar and I've only been playing for 3 1/2 years. I know that this was the right choice.

  • @Guitarist6146 You wont ever regret that choice bro! This is truly a guitar for life ! Robbiesiebens 314ce already sounds awesome......! As it gets older it just gets better and thats the sign of a truly great guitar ! Mine`s is before the expression system was developed but i really dont care ! I use the fishman prefix into one track and a good microphone into the other when recording ! So i can add an effect to one track and keep the other clean if i want !My prized possesion !! Peace Ye`all!

  • @auto4union I couldn't agree more. It is a great guitar which I know will last me the rest of my life. I'm also finally learning fingerpicking which sounds beautiful on that guitar. It might even sound better than buying it new because I'm pretty sure it was made in 2006. I can definately tell that it is the best decision that I've made in my life by far! I know that I would have regretted getting the PS3 instead of this.
