No,the mail is first prepared at the SAMP machine it is then taken to the FSS. At the FSS the mail is sorted/seperated to the different carriers on a route, during first pass, then it goes back thru the machine and sorted to that carriers route in his walk sequence. After passing thru the machine twice it is placed in street trays then into the street castors and transported to the station. Hope I'm not to confusing.
We've been running them for over a year in the NOVA area, and I don't think anyone has lost there jobs. It is putting more work on the carriers back though, I hear.
can i play with this machine?

You said that the mail passes through the fss twice, are you referring to the new mail that the carriers bring with them?

I've always wondered what it looked like in that FSS building in Norman. Been in the APPS building next door quite often.

Its a huge building. When the video pans to the left you see the Flat Sorter 100's.
