I signed the petition but isn't the winter plot similar to the silent hill wee game? and unnatural snow storm, weird faceless monsters, starts off in a wrecked ambulance while on silent hill it starts off in a wrecked car,van thing. Did silent hill steal the idea from n-force? Silent hill kinda pissed me off not letting fight real cool, instead I have to run like crazy away from those creatures lol. What do you think about that Winter, Silent Hill comparison? Winter looks better.

I'm a huge survival horror fan, and this game really looked like an honest to goodness, "survival horror" experience. I actually write freelance for the IGN Nintendo team, and I really hope we see more of this title. But who knows. I hate to say it but publishers might have been right. It's really hard to sell stuff like this on Wii. Everyone wants it on the system, but nobody actually goes and buys it. Even MadWorld, which IGN covered the hell out of, is seeing pretty disappointing sales. Sad.

I wouldn't say they're totally right yet. Madworld is a very niche game, much like Okami, Godhand, and Viewtiful Joe, and the first two didn't benefit from the PS2's huge userbase at all. HOTD has done a lot better then MW. CoDWAW has sold over 1 million, which is great overall. Conduit will be the big test. If that flops, then they were right, but I highly doubt it will. Cya Yoda!

It's a tough call. These types of games, the classic survival horrors, are even having a hard time selling on the other consoles. Hopefully that changes. I would love to see this game come out.

But as much as the Wii needs games like this, I still can't help but wonder... would it be better on Xbox 360? Does the Wii really have enough to offer in terms of control to trade for it's massive loss in visual fidelity. I hate to say it, but I don't think so.

We'll just have to wait and see.

True, the survival horror games of old are sadly dying off. Even last year's SH: Homecoming didn't rocket up the charts, yet the very disappointing Gears of Ev..Ahem, I mean RE5 sells like, 1.5 million total in March alone.

Well look at SH:Shattered Memories. That's making tremendous use of the Wiimote. Sure, it's on PS2/P as well, but it won't be nearly as good with a regular pad. The Winter demo also uses IR heavily, and the final game could also be as innovative as SM, control-wise.

I have just recently learned about this TODAY, and now I'm extremely happy. It seems like just my genre.

For a while now, I've been slowly moving towards the horror genre. Devil may cry, then resident evil.

I personally can't wait for Silent hill to finally come out (shattered memories).

Yeah the horror genre is great. I fell in love with it thanks to the REmake.

I too am absolutely stoaked to play Silent Hill, a series I've wanted to get into for some time, and after the bad taste RE5 left in my mouth, SH:SM's announcement was a miracle, lol.

I've already signed twice. Let me say that I never, EVER, play survival horror games. I just know that if I saw that metal zombie girl thing coming at me like that, I'd soil myself (yes, I am aware that it was moving fairly slowly, but for some reason that just adds to the creepiness).

But I do agree, Nintendo needs more titles like this on the Wii. I'm sick and tired of X-Boxers calling it a kiddie system. So even though I likely won't play it, it has my support.

(First off, I loved the first Fatal Frame and plan to play 2 and 3, so I really want FF4 in NA.)

I assume it's still being localized. The first 3 Fatal Frame's All came to NA/EU, so FF4 is almost guaranteed to as well. Many people don't realize that some of the FF games came out in other reigons MUCH later after Japan, in some cases almost a full year after.

Hopefully they're also fixing the control issues the original has. Not using the pointer to aim the flashlight?! ROFL, fail. :(

what annoys me the most is why haven't nintendo taken up the opportunity to publish the game because they have worked with n space before. True, they have worked together in the past with Geist, but it seems hastey to instantly blame them for not picking up Winter. It's certainly possible that N-Space pitched it to them, but there's no publicly known proof of that, only N-Space truly knows.

It's fine if you don't like rail shooters, just as long as you realize Nintendo aren't the ones making them.

Indeed, it's a foolish misconception. Plus, it's hard for "company X's" M rated Wii game to sell poorly when "company X" won't bother putting an M rated Wii game out in the first place. >_> Some M games have actually done pretty well. 2009 will turn the tide for sure, ESP. Sega's games. Overkill is doing well, I'm confident Madworld will pull in big numbers, and The Conduit will easily mop the floor in terms of sales, no doubt. :)

I'm generally not a big survivor horror fan but I really enjoyed the Winter trailer and really liked the environment the game takes place in (definitely had that silent hill-esq feeling to it).

You know me though, I LOVE the genre, but sadly, it's slowly dying off. The RE5 demo was great, but it felt more like survival-action then horror. Winter brings the genre back to it's roots. I hope you at least signed it though. :)

RE5 definitely felt like a survival action game but I really enjoyed it. I heard that there was a lvl where you are in this dark place and that one person needed to hold the lantern for light while the other shoots the enemies. I can just imagine enemies jumping out. @_@

I already signed it when it began. Mature games do sell on the Wii. It's not because if the game is mature it won't sell, it depends if the game is good or not. What also works is good advertising and marketing. No More Heroes didn't have any of that but it sold enough by word of mouth and internet.

I couldn't agree more. IMO Survival/Horror is one of the genres that can benefit from the Wii the most. Immersing yourself in a game through Wii motion control is fun already in action games, where you're a tough guy/girl that can take on the world. But getting more immersed in a game where you're vulnerable, man... With good Wii controls you should truly feel that YOU're the one trying to survive and that YOU're facing death at every corner. If this doesn't make it, it'd be a huge missed chance
