The best bass players out there are in bands that you and me dont listen to on a reg basis - if at all.

One or two good sounding rock riffs or playing as fast as possible dont make them good guitarists. Jazz / fusion / even classical have the most skilled bass muscians - check them out.

"Cliff" , "flea", "and most rock band bass players are simply creations of a marketing team and have no real musical talent.
