Truly brilliant singing as only Del Monaco can deliver. His declamatory style is clean, clear, with few pitch slurs. I love the way he always delivered such passion and authority, especially in his recordings of the 1950's. His Cavaradossi, in a time of so many singers singing this role, was outstanding and by far the best, in my opinion. No one today even comes close. Thank you for sharing these beautiful excerpts.

I was just listening to it today- in act 1, Cavaradossi's cry "fa il confessore e il boia!
La vita mi costasse, vi salverò! (I will save you(Angelotti) if it costs me my life!) Is just awesomely delivered. I think it's a high B. he kills it! if you haven't heard his, check it out, its a really exciting moment
