Why are people hating on these two games?They're both the reason I got the xbox over the ps3(PS3 has some good games like uncharted and MGS4 but they dont apeal to me like these do).And why would you compare a FPS to A 3rdPS?

I believe most Halo fans are Gears players and Gears fans are Halo players. It's rare you'll find someone who has played one of the games but hasn't played the other.

I've played the Halo genre ever since the first one came out leading to the fantastic multiplayer of Halo 2 and then so on to Halo 3 but when Gears of War came out, it defined a new pinnacle to FPS skill adjustment that most people couldn't get use too thus they were mostly unskilled in the game and became weary of it. You won't find many players in Gears multiplayer because the majority of them "suck". Gears is by far, and hands down, takes more skill than Halo 3.
Gow 1 was good and untill halo 3 and COD4 it was top of the charts, in second was halo 2. Forge, when used by the right person is a great tool and having theater and saved films is a great feature.
What I am trying to say is they are both good games (less so on GOW2 but GOW1 is still good) they will both always have their problems, but neither one can be better than the other as its all personal opinion, to some one who doesn't mind GOW but hates halo GOw is better but the opposite is true too
for their art styles. Gears does have less glitches in the game that people can access, But it also is really restricting your movement, in gears you cannot jump (which is a whole section of glitches just gone) and you cant freely drive vehicle which is a big source of glitches in halo. The multiplayer is also very repetitive as its very limited, you don't have things like rocket race and griffball. GOW2 was a big let down compared to its predecessor, Prt2

In 1991 the first iteration of epic studios was made, though no founding member still is on board just getting that out of the way. I think Halo and Gears are both amazing but they're both very different so I find it hard to compare them. I also recently bought Gears 2 when it came out and it was AWESOME both games are just fantastic 360 exclusives they're equal in my book. :D

He's got more weapons, his armor is actually pretty good and can withstand most bullets (The reason the cog die as fast as locust in the game is for gameplay reasons only because in the books most weapons can't pierce their armor one shot. Except for the sniper. Pistols are out of the question uunless they head shot them) and a chainsaw that can cut through a tank.

If an entire Locust army can't stop the cole train I doubt two (although badass) alien and Human soldiers can. As far as graphics i find the games comparable, as far as halo 3 and gears 2, and halo reach is comparable to gears 3. Really they are close, I like halo better simply for gameplay. I accept that some people like gears better, some people like 3PS, some FPS. Its preference.
@Nejihygo I must disagree with you here. All FPS games owe their existence to Wolfenstein 3D, and it was Quake and Unreal that really made them popular.
The FPS genre was alive and well befor Combat Evolved; Red Faction and the first Alien vs Predator both predate Halo.

@redheadman69 (continuing my first post) If its arbiter and chief vs delta, delta has the Cole Train. That alone makes your arguement invalid. If an entire Locust army can't stop the cole train I doubt two (although badass) alien and Human soldiers can. Not to mention they have to deal with Baird, Dom, Marcus, and Carmine ( A, B or C I don't care who)

Reach is a game for the retards and people who suck at halo 3, a game that takes skill.
GoW is a joke anyway, no one even plays it, only black people do, and H3 has more people on it daily than gow, despite being out for 3 fucking years and gears 2.
Halo has also been in the top 5 most played XBL games since its release, and sold almost twice as much as gears.

@Pas1logan Halo spear headed the xbox. Without halo the FPS genre would never have sprang off like it did. The 360 probably would not have been made without halo. As far as graphics i find the games comparable, as far as halo 3 and gears 2, and halo reach is comparable to gears 3. Really they are close, I like halo better simply for gameplay. I accept that some people like gears better, some people like 3PS, some FPS. Its preference.

@Nejihygo I must disagree with you here. All FPS games owe their existence to Wolfenstein 3D, and it was Quake and Unreal that really made them popular.
The FPS genre was alive and well befor Combat Evolved; Red Faction and the first Alien vs Predator both predate Halo.

@Pas1logan True Gears had horde before Halo had firefight, plus gears has better graphics too. However both games look amazing why not just buy both? I would understand if the games were on seperate consoles, cos then u would have to buy another console. I honestly am looking forward to Reach a bit more in terms of multiplayer cos of Forge world and armor abilites (which btw isn't a rumor, its in the game, its gone gold). Gears 3s story is gonna be better though..
