I wish Congress had sent these vehicles overseas to poorer countries instead of destroying them. Some of these "clunkers" have been perfectly servicable vehicles that could have replaced much worse vehicles. The overall *global* impact in emissions reduction would have been better than simply destroying these vehicles.

Whats done is done, the new cars are on the lots, just trying to get them OFF the lots to new owners. its a good plan IF you can afford it and get a lower emissions vehicle, with better MPG which in the long run, will allow more milage with less emissions on the same amount of gas, which is less CO in the air...
