  • plyrometrics help a lot with your speed and jumping but the first stretch in the video is bad for your knees

  • @moss4life100 my vert is decent 29", and i supposedly hav a lot of fast twitch muscle fibers (some machine that i used when i used to train with burke spencer not sure if u know him), im very quick, i was doing basic training like lifting and plyos but stopped cus i have basketball

  • if you do active stretching as a beginner you can do harm to your body. I went to school for sports med. this guy has no clue!

  • Hey that's good. I'm 5'5'' and 13 years old and I'm getting about mid way from the rim and mid net. I'm about 2 1/2 - 3 1/2 inches from touching the rim.

  • im 14 , 5'7'' and i get get the bottom of the backboard (about 5'' away from the rim) and i use these stretches - theres nothing wrong with them. but still you do good vids keep em' up.

  • Yeah thats pretty bad that your 5'7" and can only get the bottom of the backboards...so mabye you shouldn't do these stretches...im 5'8" and can get rim

  • I'm also 5'8" and I can get rim also, however you need to understand that people develop at different paces. I'm sure when he begins to exercise and workout more then he will have a much better vert.

    You wanna increase your vertical? lissen........................­............

    4 things you have to think about: 1. Strenght (legs, but also the hips and your lower back) 2. Stability (in your enkels, knees, hips, and lower back) 3. flexibility (long muscle can put more power in your jump) 4. (most importent!!) Plyometric training. It inceases the amount of power you can put in your jump. Other wise strenght training would be dumb at some point.

  • oh and about stretching, its good to do,

    BUT, not before you go training. you will loose power in your muscles, always stretch after a match, also better for recorvering. you should do a dynamic stretch in your warming up, like 2/3 sec, not more!

  • I used air alert and combined it with a good diet -lifting weights, wearing ankle weights and a 40 lb chest vest and working on a balance board- I gained 22 inches of vert.

  • wearing ankle weights will ruin your calf muscle. It expands the muscles in your legs and causes gaps in your leg muscle, the spaces in the muscle will fill with air cause to much spacing leading to a decreased vertical jump and eventually lead to torn or damaged muscles.

  • I think it would work. I could leg press 800x6 and I only weighed 160, but I could barely dunk, probably because I am not at all flexible. I am the least flexible person I know (could not even hit the sit and reach test to be measured) so I'm going to try this and let everybody know if it works wonders for me.

  • oh no, he's saying increase your flexibilty, that increases your vert, then with your increased flexibility you can work/o harder without injury. Now I may be a rare case but, I'm 6'8" and 15 years old, I can dunk, not really well though, I can almost touch the top of the square, I am VERY inflexible, after two days of doing this stretching 3 times as day (as well as my workout), my vert has gone up 5 inches and I can dunk from 11 feet away from the rim (with a running start. It woreked for me.
