I sing in a metal/hardcore band. Pretty much all I ever find myself listening to is metal, hardcore, folk-punk (Andrew Jackson Jihad), Math Rock (GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES! or Maps & Atlases) and then bands like Pelican or Godspeed! You Black Emperor/A Silver Mt. Zion.
Also, I think Lady Gaga's first album is fucking awesome. She writes well, sings well, all that. But the appealing thing for me is the structure. Tell me Paparazzi isn't easy to translate to modern hardcore. It has a fucking breakdown.
This is why I like him. Most people don't like Lady Gaga because shes 'mainstream'. Many deny it but its very true. Lady Gaga can sing very well. And shes gotten far, even with her extreme wardrobes. And thats what he probably loves most about her is that she does what she wants. She won't be afraid about what shes going to wear because she wants people to like her. If you watch her interviews shes a very real person. Well thats my take on it.
I think she's a decent artist and completely inoffensive. What bothers me is people, not her, just regular people, attributing her qualities that are not only not unique to her, but have been done before and better in a less degenerated (not in the classical sense of the word, more like a cassette that degenerates with time until the contents are unreadable.) and more effective (read: devotedly artistic) manner. I think she's innofensive, just like any other sensationalist pop outfit.

I believe you all look at Gaga and see a sellout pop artist because she has tons of top hits, but if you really listen to the music you will understand that everything has a different meaning. And she absolutely loves her fans. That's one great thing about her. Most people couldn't give two shits about their fans but she truly cares and puts all of her time, energy and money into her show for her fans. Lydon, who will always be Johnny Rotten to me, sees that and appreciates it. And so do I.

I see no difference between Gaga and Madonna. They're both mediocre "artists" who use sexuality to sell their music (which is digitalized, simplistic, and repetitive.) and dress in ridiculous "fashion" in order to get attention, all the while breaking all social norms in public and are excused for it because they are part of the Glitterati.
I just got done watching the videos of John Lydon on the Tom Snyder show, and i am incredibly confused and disappointed that he approves of her music.

I sing in a metal/hardcore band. Pretty much all I ever find myself listening to is metal, hardcore, folk-punk (Andrew Jackson Jihad), Math Rock (GIRAFFES? GIRAFFES! or Maps & Atlases) and then bands like Pelican or Godspeed! You Black Emperor/A Silver Mt. Zion.
Also, I think Lady Gaga's first album is fucking awesome. She writes well, sings well, all that. But the appealing thing for me is the structure. Tell me Paparazzi isn't easy to translate to modern hardcore. It has a fucking breakdown.

This is why I like him. Most people don't like Lady Gaga because shes 'mainstream'. Many deny it but its very true. Lady Gaga can sing very well. And shes gotten far, even with her extreme wardrobes. And thats what he probably loves most about her is that she does what she wants. She won't be afraid about what shes going to wear because she wants people to like her. If you watch her interviews shes a very real person. Well thats my take on it.

I think she's a decent artist and completely inoffensive. What bothers me is people, not her, just regular people, attributing her qualities that are not only not unique to her, but have been done before and better in a less degenerated (not in the classical sense of the word, more like a cassette that degenerates with time until the contents are unreadable.) and more effective (read: devotedly artistic) manner. I think she's innofensive, just like any other sensationalist pop outfit.
