You did a great job with this video. I had been on that ride so many times and you nailed it pretty much. The rest of the video is fantastic too!! I thought that a lot of this was similar to the original rids. LOVED IT!!!!
nice love the body crawling down the stairs XD from 7:18 -7:51 cool but he died like 5 times - then he kept on coming back ---evil------i like that----- :)
LOL! That was great...different from the Paragon Park ride, but still a nice memory jogger!
"We have been waiting for you, here at Kooky Kastle! Come in and join us! Strange things are happening, so don't be afraid! Ha-ha! Ha-ha-ha-ha!" I can still hear that cheesey Dracula voice!
We had a kooky kastle like this at Idora Park in Youngstown back in the 70's when I was little! It scared the heck out of me, those barrels falling, and the swlirling psychadelic stuff in the beginning scared me, I think I was three when my dad took me on it!
You did a great job on this, i was on the edge of my seat! Great work!
I'll never forget the frankenstein monster chasing the girl around the turrets, and the smell inside the ride...remember the swooping vampire bat, and the psycho lady in the rocking chair...I would give all of my posessions to ride that just one more time....
That was one of my favorite things about it, too! One of the workers and placed a name badge on his chest that said "Chuck!" it stayed there for years, too!
if that was real...it would be well creepy. it realy had me going near the end when that body is floating towards you and then it falls down. im probably gonna have the same nightmares as those people livong there night, after night, after night...
honestly...you should make another one lik that...but make it a screamer. it would sooooo scare ma friends!!!
Thanks for watching and for the comments, mrcool616. Ya, the night I thought up (or kinda stole) that "Exorcist" scene, I was scaring the shit out of myself in bed! I knew I was on to something. I'll be making another ride soon, I hope!
WOW THAT WAS REALLY GOOD! THIS WAS REAL AT ONE POINT? VERY NICE DISPLAY! I'm taking a 3D animation coarse in school and I can't imagine how much work you put into all of this! Excellent job.
@paulcarty This brought me right back. Great job. I was amazed, because I had forgotten it all, but remembered it again as the the video progressed. Did you remember all the details or did you have some pictures or something to go by?
@Jamdor78 - Thanks for the comment. I was only able to find a few (poor quality) photos of the facade so very little of my ride is similar to the original...I was relying on over twenty-year memories! I mostly remember me and my brother throwing rocks at the props inside; losers.
Is this a recreation of the actual ride because there's some scenes that don't make sense. Yes, I hate all these parks closing for condos especially when it causes the loss of classic dark rides like this. Mass. lost the last dark ride, Kastle Frankenstein at Pirate's Fun Park, Salisbury Beach for condos. Ocean City's Haunted House is in danger of closing if the park closes due to high taxes. Boo!
Great rendition of kooky kastle. This ride reminds me of Ocean City, MD's Haunted House with the coffin cars and crooked mine, etc. This was a Bill Tracy ride. Bill Tracy was from Cape May Co., NJ and built/renovated dark rides and props from the 50's until his death in the early 70's. His company closed 1979.
Amazing job Paul on what I thought was a long-lost memory! I am so glad I can revisit the Kooky Kastle ride again and again! It made me feel like a creep'd out kid again Wow! Jim Means

I didn't think it was possible to have the Kooky Kastle scare me any more than it did in the 70s...well...I was wrong. Man that was creepy! Good job.

This is wicked! Bill Tracy meets Doom3 meets Francis Dhomont! That reversed audio loop that plays as the head in the broken boat rolls is tight!
No Robert (rwk360), this is not a real darkride. Darkride production technology isn't good enough to do a ride this scary yet.
raveinabedroom 4 years ago
lots of great images in this.
dark rides are a showcase of
clever gags and artwork.
it's depressing how rapidly
their numbers are depleting.
yaggy9 4 years ago
What did you make that on.
Lapabpip 4 years ago
I used Cinema 4d for the 3d work and Final Cut Pro for assembly.
