  • 3:49 This might be VERY dangerous! Wouldnt be better to dismantle the bolt first so ti does not break or cut your finger off?

  • @1411tpap o yea dude if he hit that button boom there goes finger

  • This is the first video that came up on Utube for my search on cleaning a shotgun, and the first time I see a how a shotgun is cleaned. Thank you for a very methodical teaching video on this subject. I do not own a shotgun yet, and one of the things I wanted to know before buying a shotgun, is, how difficult it would be to clean it. So your video helps my decision process. I think you would make a good teacher if you decided to go into that field. Thanks again, Juan

  • Just put some silica gel bags (that you find from shoe boxes, and other random stuff) in the shotgun slip/case. That'll take care of the moisture issue, which will then not rust the firearm.

  • great job. thanks. cleaning my guns for the first time today.

  • good deal were you ever in the shotgun club here?

  • Derrr! Boom! Shotgun! Blast! Derrr! Nice cutoff!

  • lol, how the fuck did this get 60,000 views, I am pretty sure we got a B.

  • nice video but 0:52.. FAIL TO FALL INTO HAND LOL!

  • wipeing gun oil onto the stock.......one way to make the wood soft ....

  • Nice vid man!!

  • Thanks for the video. I'm about to try this...

  • lmao fucking guy ever have to wear his ghilloie suit

  • A very well made and informative video. 5 stars.

  • I always drop out the trigger assembly and clean it as well - it can get very dirty. Use a boresnake and some bore cleaner you will reduce your cleaning time and its more effective than the traditional rods. too.

  • oh yea GO Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!haha

  • also if you have a wooden stock keep the barrel end down after cleaning and storage on a small rag to let the excess oil drain onto it and prevent swelling on your stock whick leads to cracks!!!!!

  • Thanks for the tip. I have too much oil on my stock - is there a way to get rid of it / dry it out?

  • yea just use soapy water and clean it real good should be fine as long as you dont let the oil sit on the stock for long periods of time.

  • OK, every shooter has their own method of cleaning their shotgun.

Whatever method you choose there's no point in lubing up the external finish if your'e going to handle the shotgun with your bare hands.

I always wear those white cotton gloves during the cleaning process to ensure i'm not leaving any finger marks on the metal which will leave moisture on the weapon causing rusting over a period of time.

Also do NOT store the shotgun in it's slip/case.

  • @buckshotaaa Whats a slip case? are you talking about the floating gun case that zips up?

  • Hi mate, what i meant was don't put your gun in any kind of case or gunslip after you've cleaned it. That can cause it to sweat, just pop it back in the gunsafe. job done.

  • @buckshotaaa Why cant we store the gun in a slip or case? Im curious to know YOUR reason why.

  • @64notorious Because it's best to let air circulate around the gun so it eliminates condensation that could cause rusting over a period of time.

  • @buckshotaaa y cant u store shot gun in slip or case?

  • @patf03 Storing a firearm in a slip or case can cause the metal to sweat and go rusty. Fleece lined slips or foam lined cases, ie the egg box like foam, are not a good idea for long term storage, only for protection against knocks while in transit. Let the air circulate and let them breathe. I also stick a VP 90 sachet in the cabinet for additional protection against corrosion.

  • Mmmmmm, shotguns and P.O.D.

  • Thanks I needed that

  • Whats the point of wiping the moisture off if you're just going to put it back on with your hands?

KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF THE METAL UNLESS NEEDED. You could have easily kept your hands on the butt of the gun and did this. Other than that. nice vid ;)

  • despite the fact that the person looks somewhat funny in the outfit, the video is very comprehensive and nice.

    Thank you.

  • Nice outfit.

He looks like Fungus the Bogeyman.

  • this is how i learned to clean my shotty... nice work man

  • very good editing. good video.

  • you should of done it in the jungle, that way the ghili suit would of made sense. or at least been outside. LMAO

  • man putting it back in a case just takes all the oil off of it just put it somewhere safe and dry

  • NEXT STEP....REMOVE CHEESY Ghillie Suit in house so you don't look like a big fat swamp monster.

  • haha too right

  • 1. You idiots have no Muzzle Control.

    2. Why do you people always insist on using some rock music with firearm videos?

3.ENOUGH WITH THE CHEAP WINDOWS MOVIE MAKER TITLES!

  • sweet thanks i needed to learn this.

  • i NEVER clean my guns

  • well thats gonna suk when u shoot it and it will bak fire in ur face u dumb shit

  • my dern 870 dont need no dern cleaning. GIT R DONE i shoot them mooses, squirrrls, aradillos with it and never clean. i put 100,000 rounds and 10 hunting trips and never taken apart. :D

  • buy a dictionary and learn how 2 spell.

  • ur gay

  • if you have an insulated case to prevent condensation do you still need to clean the gun?

  • @eyeloverachel

Padded gun cases make the rust situation worse. I'm not sure why, but they do. You should never store a gun in a padded case for extended periods. Just store the gun uncased in a dry place and carefully wipe it down with oil every time after handling it.

  • thanks and one more quick question...i didnt know if it was safe ro use wd 40 to clean the hinge and hammer on it...mine is a single shot 20 gauge...i assume its not safe to use considering wd 40 is only a water displacer..but what would you recommend for lubricating it?

  • I use Breakfree CLP for all gun cleaning purposes. It cleans normal bore fouling easily, it lubricates very well, and it's the best rust preventer I've ever used. As long as you clean your gun regularly (after every shooting session), CLP is all you'll ever need. Give it a try; you'll like it.

  • I wouldn't use WD-40 for any firearms maintenance. It has it's uses, but there are much better products out there for that purpose.

  • thanks i greatly appreciate it

  • arkangel8419 i was just trying to help people from making mistakes to their guns like you do so fuck off.

  • Why didn't you use a bore brush, and how come up wiped oil on the wood?

  • this is a good video thanks bro.

  • Good job -- hope you got a good grade!

  • Thanks for that.

  • you dint even clean the barrel!

  • Comment removed

  • I'd also have avoided getting my fingers all over the metal components under the forearm whilst putting it back on. Storing in a case (particularly a waterproof one) is bad news from a corrosion standpoint. Also, if you come in from the cold (which it often is when you hunt in the States), let the gun dry out before cleaning, otherwise humidity will still condense on the weapon. Top marks for the safety parts of the briefing though.

  • do not dip wipe in the solution just pour a little on the wipe. and do not pour the lubricant on the metal pour it on the rag. also only wipe off the metal parts of the gun and not the wood because it messes the wood up.

  • yeah it could mess up the wood but why dont u try reading the instructions on ur gun cleaning kit and it will tell u to dip the brush or soft brush in the solution i hate when people try to insult people on here for no reason and it is really funny when people like u that do it dont even know what the fuck they are talking about.. so hahahahah great vid man thanks for helping people out and piss on mtkleo1
