Kelly let Amelia sing lead because AMELIA was the finalist. clearly Kelly hit notes better that Amelia like at 1:51, 2:03, 2:12, 2:40, and 2:45 just to name a few, while still allowing Amelia to shine.

I don't think Amelia outshined Kelly, I think Kelly was holding back to push Amelia to do better. I mean when your on stage with someone with a voice and legacy like Kelly Rowland you have to go farther and I think Kelly wanted her to win. I think this performance was just for fun to Kelly and it was EVERYTHING to Amelia. But Their chemistry and harmony was much better than the other acts. Based on this performance she should have won. I didn't want Amelia to win, never got the hype about her, but that was truly AMAZING! One of the best performance of the whole season. Don't even dare to compare this to other dull duets, this was on the superior level.
This performance is well constructed. Kelly Rowland is a musical genius, she done a good job as a mentor this year with her contestants as she works with them all well, and doesn't make them into something they're not. All her contestants were genuine.
Although, i would have loved to see what KELLY and MISHA would have come up with in the final..

I really enjoyed this and i don't even watch xfactor. Well for anybody with a minimum of music knowledge this performance is really nice. Amelia has a strong voice (a la aguilera) so it can get a little like screams but Kelly softens up the whole thing. They're amazing in this video. They both hit the high notes in a good way. Now everyone who is criticizing Kelly's vocal try to hit the note she does at 3:05 - 3:12 and hold it as long as she does. Amelia is great, but as a vocalist the note Kelly hit takes some major pipes to hit let alone hold!
Kelly Rowland is and always will be a VOCAL powerhouse. Many people don't know that Kelly's vocal arrangements and vocal range was one of the main ingredients in Destiny's Child's success. Even Beyonce has admitted that vocally Kelly has amazing tone and credits her as one of the best vocalists.
First off - KELLY ROWLAND is an INTERNATIONAL Superstar and her vocal range is off the charts. She is rare in the industry as she can hear you and tell you what note you sang. Notice at 3:03 she is a still mentoring as she challenges Amelia to go for the high note. She could of made this about her, but she didn't, she accented Amelia but not in an overbearing way. She was an excellent mentor and it was her comments to Little Mix that got them to tighten their vocal & be viewed as contenders.

@MrsAckles09 Hate to stray from the absolute awsomeness of their chemistry together but as you people love the negative: Notice how Kelly was the only mentor to spotlight her act from the very first lyric (unlike Tulisa taking the most memorable verse). I remember Beyonce and Alexandra negotiating parts to take and Beyonce said they should sing "I'm more than what you made of me" the most powerful line, together.
A mentor allows there act to shine...that is what Kelly did.

As far as I am concerned Kelly Rowland more RnB took a huge risk singing this song with a rock singer as trying to blend their voices is difficult. Amelia Lily reminds me of a mix between Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson. She is a lil mix of her own.

This performance shows that Kelly goal is her girls long-term career in the music industry as compared to other judges whose main goal is to win the X factor. I guess we have all seen what happens to the winners. If all three judges/acts performances were played on radio. Without a doubt Amelia would have more votes. All Kelly's girls have the ability to be major UK artists if they continued under her guidance as compared to other acts, I love how her acts speak highly despite negative media.

Everyone who is saying that its unfair Amelia Lily didn't get through has HMV to thank for it. If i knew a song before glee did it then its not that bad but when they do a cover of a song i've not heard of and i hear another version, even if its the orginal i feel the same. You may like her personality more, but she is tone deaf (she CAN belt it out, just not in key). But then again, neither Marcus nor Little Mix are good vocally either. Marcus can dance, and Little Mix each can compliment each other, but none of the final 3 are strong. Put them up next to Cardle, McElderry, Burke or Boyle - compare how they do staying in pitch w. these winners.
@satexguy1 I actually think Little Mix and Marcus are probably the worthy finalists out of the bunch in the live shows. Marcus has a great voice, and the girls from Mix, especially Perry, have nice blending voices as well. However, the one contestant who could've truly been on the level of Leona Lewis, Joe McElderry, etc., was John Wilding. He had an amazing voice, but for some reason Gary decided not to put him through to the live shows. He would've won.

Kelly Rowland is and always will be a VOCAL powerhouse. Many people don't know that Kelly's vocal arrangements and vocal range was one of the main ingredients in Destiny's Child's success. Even Beyonce has admitted that vocally Kelly has amazing tone and credits her as one of the best vocalists.

First off - KELLY ROWLAND is an INTERNATIONAL Superstar and her vocal range is off the charts. She is rare in the industry as she can hear you and tell you what note you sang. Notice at 3:03 she is a still mentoring as she challenges Amelia to go for the high note. She could of made this about her, but she didn't, she accented Amelia but not in an overbearing way. She was an excellent mentor and it was her comments to Little Mix that got them to tighten their vocal & be viewed as contenders.

I love so much Little and so happy because they win but, this performance of Kelly and Amilia sound much better than the performance of Little Mix and Tulisa. Kelly and Amelia looks like two DIVAS on the stage while Tulisa sounds just like a normal singer beetwen Little Mix

@MrsAckles09 Hate to stray from the absolute awsomeness of their chemistry together but as you people love the negative: Notice how Kelly was the only mentor to spotlight her act from the very first lyric (unlike Tulisa taking the most memorable verse). I remember Beyonce and Alexandra negotiating parts to take and Beyonce said they should sing "I'm more than what you made of me" the most powerful line, together.
A mentor allows there act to shine...that is what Kelly did.

wow, kelly and amelia sounded amazing together! i didn't really like kelly's performance last week, but that's due to her dancing around and getting out of breath. this song suited both their voices and kelly was much better lol amelia was great, but i think the right person went out. Amelia will have a massive carrer ahead of her though. i want littlemix to win! :)

As far as I am concerned Kelly Rowland more RnB took a huge risk singing this song with a rock singer as trying to blend their voices is difficult. Amelia Lily reminds me of a mix between Christina Aguilera and Kelly Clarkson. She is a lil mix of her own.

This performance shows that Kelly goal is her girls long-term career in the music industry as compared to other judges whose main goal is to win the X factor. I guess we have all seen what happens to the winners. If all three judges/acts performances were played on radio. Without a doubt Amelia would have more votes. All Kelly's girls have the ability to be major UK artists if they continued under her guidance as compared to other acts, I love how her acts speak highly despite negative media.

Everyone who is saying that its unfair Amelia Lily didn't get through has HMV to thank for it. Them uploading a place mark for Amelia Lilys winners single unfortunatly ruined the girls chance of winning. X-factor have already said they have lost enough viewers and thats without a "It's fixed" scandal. Go and look at her face when she finds out shes out. Not a hint of emotion or suprise in her face or Kellys. They both knew she was going. At least she left on two great performances.

Kelly and Amelia are totally different.They are two amazing singers with great vocal ranges but there voices are noting alike.Kelly has got that R'n'B,Soul,Strenght and Sweet tone to her voice where as Amelia is more of a belter and she has a massive,strong voice.But,to say one is better than the other is stupid because they are TOTALLY different.

I have not watched the TV show, but I thought I would youtube and see what the big fuss is about... out fo the three I have seen, it is this Amelia that has got it! I have sat here and watched her perfomances (although I couldnt find some of them, was she ill??) and she is just awsome!

@kayceeSparks - please don't compare her vocally to Matt Cardle, Joe McElderry, Susan Boyle, or even Alexandra Burke. You may like her personality more, but she is tone deaf (she CAN belt it out, just not in key). But then again, neither Marcus nor Little Mix are good vocally either. Marcus can dance, and Little Mix each can compliment each other, but none of the final 3 are strong. Put them up next to Cardle, McElderry, Burke or Boyle - compare how they do staying in pitch w. these winners.

@satexguy1 I actually think Little Mix and Marcus are probably the worthy finalists out of the bunch in the live shows. Marcus has a great voice, and the girls from Mix, especially Perry, have nice blending voices as well. However, the one contestant who could've truly been on the level of Leona Lewis, Joe McElderry, etc., was John Wilding. He had an amazing voice, but for some reason Gary decided not to put him through to the live shows. He would've won.
