oh for god sacks they are for drunk drivers! we have such a high problem with drunks that these check points work ive been through them 3 times all they do is slow you down ask for your driviers license and ask where you came from and if you have had anything to drink then they let you on, one time they had a check point in albuquerque and they nabbed 13 drunk drivers now thats doing something! and its really nothing ! god damn whats werong with you ppl!@???

Nope it's not illegal to post checkpoints. All you have to do is stop and say, no thank you. If they keep you beyond that point, then it's in the gray. If they illegally search you, then it is against your constitutional rights and is illegal.
