Du coup je pense qu'il n'est pas si chauvin d'invoquer les français de l'armée de l'air comme les meilleurs : c'est aussi basé quelques part sur une réalité de capacité de maintiens en excellente condition d'entrainement par un financement + rationnel qu'on l'imagine certes après : quand on a des appareils aussi couteux a l'entretiens : on a jamais assez pour tout faire voler a 100%, le parc est impossible a rendre entièrement disponible : c'est normal

La france a la chance d'avoir le parc aéronautique d'armée de l'air je pense le + optimisé en terme de de ratio de : financement/pilotes a maintenir entrainé/avions disponibles/potentiel mobilisables maximal

La RAF ? Ca fait depuis tatcher qu'ils pleurent du budget d'entrainement (années 80)

L'USAF : les milliers d'appareils qu'ils possèdent font émettre le doute qu'ils parviennent a maintenir un entrainement optimum sur un parc aussi immense

La chine : trop de vieux appareils ...

Reste après la russie : eux ont sait qu'au niveau budgétaire, ils sont dans les choux complets depuis la chute du bloc soviétique : les pilotes ne s'entrainent que l'équivalent de quelques mois dans l'année, ont des périodes creuses sans vol très longues par manque de budget et du fait de l'ancien parc soviétique immense qui pose le problème d'entretenir tout ça même après en avoir bradé et rebradé dans les pays arabes et au magrheb ect

En général la force d'une armée c'est son budget, et dans ce domaine c'est l'US army avec 500 milliard par an qui met la fessé à tout le monde, avec 10 fois plus que le suivant... @Mcmanaman85 Je suis d'accord mais, mais mais il faut aussi prendre en compte certains ratio autour des budgets un exemple simple, la france qui était avant les années 2005 le 2 ème budget militaire au monde, rétrocédé a la 3 ème place par la chine a partir de ces années la, est elle vraiment devenu inférieure a la chine pour autant ?

Sachant qu'avec un budget qui dépasse un peu le notre, ils doivent équiper 20x + d'hommes et tenter d'entrainer 10x + de pilotes armée de l'air ?

Le budget ainsi ne fait pas tout, il faut bien regarder les ratios de financement par homme et appareils qu'on peut mobiliser et entrainer en permanence !

Un exemple simple aux UAE la ou le rafale et le typhoon se sont affrontés en conditions réelles non armées mais nettement réalistes : le rafale a battu le typhoon 7-1 sur divers mode de combat de supériorité aérienne

Les anglais de la RAF ont il est vrai invoqué un ratio de finance pour l'armée de l'air français qui les maintiens au top

Pour tenter d'expliquer comment le rafale qui certes le meilleur omnirole de tout les temps (directement issu du modèle F18 qui était le meilleur avant lui dans ce domaine) a pu battre un typhoon qui lui est orienté sur la supériorité aérienne pure ? au niveau technologique sur ce domaine de combat pure le typhoon lui était sensé être supérieur : pourtant ...

Pourtant l'excellent ratio financier français de budget pour payer les heures de vol les pilotes l'explique très bien

Comme quoi tout ne dépend pas forcément du budget "invoqué" sans le détailler, tout dépend avant tout d'un ratio de financement : pour 300 avions mobilisables en france, combien est on capable de donner ? Et bien suffisamment pour qu'ils s'entrainent TOUTE l'année de sorte que leur niveau est globalement l'un des + élevés au monde, si ce n'est pas LE + élevé au monde

Aux USA ils ont certes un budget militaire gigantesque, mais ne pas oublier aussi qu'ils ont des arsenaux gigantesques aussi

Quand on voit l'immense marine qu'ils ont a entretenir, la dantesque dissuasion nucléaire, les milliers de chasseurs bombardiers : au final, parviennent ils a dégager assez de moyens, pour entrainer a l'année près de 2-3000 pilotes armée de l'air sur les milliers d'appareils dont dispose l'USAF ? Rien n'est moins sur quand on voit le cout d'heure de vol du moindre F16

D'ou d'ailleurs pourquoi a chaque fois que les français ont affronté les USA en exercice, ils se sont inclinés

Not exactly, 7 fight, 6 draw and one victory for F-22. But some days after, against a Mirage 2000-9 piloted by a french instructor, the french pilot won 1-0 against the F-22 in dogfight.

about the acquisition, the mica has an after launch lock ability, which means the missile can be fired an locked on target when in flight giving the pilote a larger combat radius even if the ennemies don't show up on radar.

i guess this is what you mean by "to shoot a target behind"

it's a fire and forget missile so i don't think it can use the lock of another friendly plane, but maybe i'm wrong.

Each of the 2 aircraft have their own strengths. The graceful Rafale and the stealthy F-22. The F-22's purpose was more for stealth while the Rafale is more for maneuverbility to fit its multi-role profile.

There is also the question of the big picture issue of which aircraft complements the entire fleet. After all, an entire fleet cannot depend on just 1 type of aircraft alone.

The Rafale A flew in July 1986 while the British Aerospace EAP which inspired the Eurofighter design flew in August 1986. The first true Rafale the Rafale C [known as the black one] flew in 1991 while the the first Eurofighter flew in 1994. And you must know that fighters exports like any armament export are dictated by politcal reasons. Actually many experts even think UK should have bought Rafale for their aircraft carriers rather than the F-35.

Actually, it is very tough to compare fighter aircrafts, the best way to do it would be a pilots exchange program between french Rafale pilots and American F-22 pilots.

It is already the case. The reflag program is a training for any allied coutries and this helps greatly pilots regarding airframes and aircraft versatility. So in case a fighter is stolen, any allied country is able to target and destroy such type of airplane because of those trainings. Instead, all military aircrafts have specific avionics and electronics called signature. If you steal a military airplane, you will need to modify this if you don't want to be remotely destroyed.

I confirm that there are about ten years ago that american pilots don't even win the TopGun cup (Ability to be an instructor in dog fighting). The Mirage 2000, those old dogs, are still flying hard missions after 30 years of existance, and the rafale is still unbeaten till today, even by the famous F22 that has too much electronics for so less fingers to do so :) Stop dreaming, you are confirmed very strong, but not enough to take our temperature with a finger !

@007jackpot not really. It's more a matter of political influence so far. It's quite expensive yes, although not as much as Typhoons or probably F35s, but that's the price for efficiency ;) and fewer Rafales will be needed to do the job.

What's expensive in Rafale deals are technology transfers, and later on spare parts, ammunition and so on...

Je sais parfaitement que le Mirage 4000 est resté a l'état de proto, mais vous pouvez aller le voir au Musée de l'air et de l'espace, il était tout simplement trop cher.

Pas la peine de m'agresser sauf si vous avez des problemes psychologiques, auquel cas je vous conseille de vous adresser aux personnes adéquates pas sur youtube, c'est pas le bon endroit pour suivre une therapie.

c'est un bon avion, dans 5 ans il pourra remplacer nos 7 avions different, mirage ,jaguar, economie de cout et de maintenance, il vaut mieux paraitre fort que faible, surtout en ce moment. L'histoire nous appris qu'il ne faut que compter sur nous meme.

Il n'a pas couté cher, sinon il aurait été arrete comme le Mirage 4000, supprime le programme n'aurait par rapporter grand chose, il est organise en petit lot budgetaire pour le developpement. Supprime le senat rapporte beaucoup plus d'argent.
