i remember everyone saying umpjrey's was a horrible late night but this fucking set me off on a night of peaks. it was no moe. superjam but it was alright
sounds good i think jake could've used a lil more sustain on the intro or some more reverb sounds better around 3:36 but idk the rest is amazing just those first couple of lines i think the tone could've been better thats just me though
That looks like a tricked out Becker - I thought he was a G&L man. What is the deal with the tremolo arm? He has to reach back for it - looks like a palm rest. Very, very trick. I want one. And a tiny bit of talent.
@MrBasilGanglia That's a "Jake Blade". A friend of his custom made it for him because he doesn't like the feel of tremolo arms. You can order them on the Um site.
@CHOZENProductions The guitar is a Moog guitar, the same company famous for their synthesizers. Really neat guitar, he plays it every few shows, I've only seen it 1/10 times live.
Wow - that is BALLS OUT! Great tone - great control of the vibrato and bends - and he does it much cleaner (less effects) than Gilmour. Not saying it is better - just a incredible interpretation. Dude is a tonemaster.
Nice touch - he retunes during the song - around 12:00 mark.
This is one of my favorite Floyd songs and I actually saw them perform it the year it came out. I was sitting right next to the sound man and it was great. Floyd did the then new "Wish You Were Here" album, took a short break and then came back and did "Dark Side Of The Moon," from start to finish. I'll never forget it. As a player myself I always secretly fantasized about performing, "Shine On You Crazy Diamond." myself. Now Umphrey's has done it and I am blown away by their rendition.
@zevon67 yes, in the midst of their best set ever, in my humble opinion - though i haven't heard them all, i can't imagine it getting better than their late night at all good 2009

@CHOZENProductions Looks like he fashioned a spoon onto the tremelo for better feel and less obstruction.
