Phil Collins in September of 2010 told C TV (with George Stanophlaous) that it was in Canada (either Montreal or Ottawa) where Phil started experiencing back pain and loss of feeling in his hands (I saw Genesis in Boston on 9/11 and Genesis were phenomenal). I think the tambourine jigs on "I Know What I Like" were what did his back in. I'm happy I got to see Genesis once in my life but am sad that Phil Collins won't perform again (he's one of the reasons why I took up drumming).
Excuse me if I would bother. I felt your passion for music in the genesis of the cover version. I invite you kindly look at my cover: I like to have your kind opinion.

Absolutely amazing. They've been performing nearly as long as I've been alive and they can still do that on demand...with real instruments, no autotune, no special effects, just a shitpot of talent backed up by expert instrumental performance. I fucking weep at what passes for music today..no one will hear of half the schmucks we have five years from now let alone 40! Thanx for the music guys, it's your gift to the world and we appreciate it!
If they would just make one more album and one more tour around the world so i can at least got o one of their shows I can say i saw the best band in the world and i can die happy
@ThroughRock Yeah' Genesis can put on a hell of a live show, People who criticise Genesis need to pay more attention to just how talented these guys actually are. Do your Math my friends!
Its funny how the olders can perform like that after so many years, and they are still great, I saw them in Prague in 2008 and at first I was scepic about that, but as soon as they start perform I was surprised like little boy who get his desired present on christmass eve:D
Turn it on again is one of my all time favorite songs but it does need to be in its original key. It gives it more life. All in all this is really beautiful music.
Every time I see Phil drumming on this last tour the poor guy looks like he is agony and struggling with it all. he has always been my main influence drumming (even had the same teacher as him and roadied a bit for Genesis back a bit). This tour was a little heart breaing for me.
@tindrum i know what you mean..he's been an influence on me as well, and i remember trying to drum to Genesis tunes and his solo stuff.. what a huge loss to the rock and drumming world, that he is no longer able to play...his drumming and sound is so distinctive, you can pick off in the first bar of any thing he plays on..also, as a Montrealer, i am extremely disappointed that i couldn't make this gig..i was, in fact, working myself unfortunately....
@tindrum however, i did manage to play a tune in tribute to them and him, with my acoustic duo, which i sing lead and play percussion and guitar..the after show crowd came by to the local bar where i was playing, and went ballistic..great moment and gig for me, personally !
"WONDERLAND" song by band Pullman Standard is missing from "Alice." "Wonderland" song captures the essence of the Alice story. Disappointed that "Wonderland" did not make the final cut. Thank goodness can hear it on YouTube with extended trailer. Definitely SICK and worth the listen.

Rutherfords first 'dump' was around the 2.00 min mark.
He soiled himself a bit more around 4.05 mins.
As I said, Stuermer's guitar work (bloke with red guitar!!, for non Genesis fans just surfing the web) was worth the admission price... he blew them off the stage!!.

Everybody always pins it down to Phil and Peter, and quite frankly the band sound was a band effort. As a huge prog head, I have to say Peter, but even after he left, everything until after duke was good! Then they sold out, oh well. After Hackett left they should have really changed there name.
It's sad how they have to take songs down an octave because Phil can't sing them like he used to. I recently picked up a copy of Three Sides Live and this version of "Turn It On Again" can't hold a candle to the one on that album.
Actually C minor to B♭m, not that much but enough to kill the good tension of the tune... No wonder people feel it's an octave down. Intro was played in original key but I feel it's unnecessary for this great song.
I want to see you in age of 57 and after 22 shows in europe. Of course they're tired, but nevertheless it's still great. It's simply a pleasure to watch this ;)
Phil seems like he is having a hard time playing this song. If you watch older shows of this song he rips those toms. I guess age, it happens to all of us..
Big Phil drums fan here. But by his own admission, he hadn't played any challenging drums for nearly a decade, and had to "re-learn". It's pretty clear that he greatly simplified many parts (Firth of Fifth, for one), played others more carefully, and occasionally hit some really great grooves. But the music is still strong in every way it needs to be.
I agree with you mortcola, I have been studying Phil's drumming for years. He has always said he is a drummer first, but it is evident with this tour his drumming has been put on the back burner for years now, a least this style of music.

Daryl Stuermer, Collins and the visual effects was the star of that show, I know I was there.
Banks and Rutherford were just planks of wood, tired old men just along for the ride and the cash.
At least Collins put some effort into it.
Maybe Rutherford had soiled his diapers right at the start of the set, hence his total lack luster performance.

I was so mesmorized I didn't even see the crowd!

Could this crowd be any less excited? It's like they are at a state fair watching a Genesis tribute band.......

Really? They finished with Carpet Crawlers? Such a strange choice. It might be dated, but I always liked Dance on a Volcano + Los Endos for the finish.
