Simplemente genial, cada vez que la escucho me roba el aliento...esta es de aquellas canciones que son como un buen vino: Mejores con el paso de los años.
I have always adored Francis Albert, but, to me, "Autumn Leaves" IS NAT COLE! Unforgettable indeed--that's what he is.. Mr. Cole also have a little tiny smile that occasionally shows, just like Mr. S.!
Dime quien lo ha igualado en voz y vocalización. Esa forma de frasear era muy típica en los vocalistas de antes, por eso "vocalistas" le dan valor a cada palabra. Cosa que pocos cantantes de hoy hace,

@mobetta56 One hell of a pianist too! That's something that a lot of people outside the jazz world are not aware of. Check out "It Is Better To Be By Yourself" on here.
Thank you blackvelvetinme, i couldn't have put it in better words but i agree 100% with you. Don't let generations skip these magical moments of true beauty in art and lived in true love in life...that's real passion!!!
It's incredible.... We're in the year 2011 and watching and listening through the internet to one of the best singers the history of music has ever had... Technology is annoying.....but this is SO worth it... Don't let new generations skip these magical moments of true beauty in art.
Jacques Pévert qui a écrit le texte francais (le texte original) de cette chanson serait très content et même heureux de cette interprétation merveilleuse. J'adore Nat King Cole!!!
i ithink the instruments in the back are waaaaaay too overdone, I think they should go with and compliment nat's soothing vocals. Way too overdone in the background
The falling leaves drift by the window The autumn leaves of red and gold.... I see your lips, the summer kisses The sunburned hands, I used to hold Since you went away, the days grow long And soon I'll hear ol' winter's song. But I miss you most of all my darling, When autumn leaves start to fall. Since you went away, the days grow long And soon I'll hear ol' winter's song. But I miss you most of all my darling, When autumn leaves start to fall.
21 years old: that gives me hope. Keep it alive. This was the first tune I ever learned on tenor sax. It was also my Dad's favourite song, but sadly I discovered this only after he died.
neither, it was originally a french song in the 1940's, but with lyrics by the french poet Jacques Prevert, but later on there was a film called autumn leaves, and that's where nat king cole's version became famous.
kitschy- nice singing though

There is a quote, attributed to Jack Benny: "Nat Cole is the best friend a song could have." The man could sing, could make a song his own.

Written by none other than by Jacques Prevert... Les Feuilles Mortes
This was my parents song when they fell in love in the 50's in Paris France. I dedicate this to them today and miss them much.
