@andyzkey After reading the instructions, they change colour just before they zap. I didn't know that at the time, coz I never read the instructions before doing these vids :)
I'll never understand games that are so hard you can't make it off the first few levels. "I love the place, it's full of grannies." Line of the night!
That thing that fires out electric bolts seems kinda cheap to me as you say in the video, if your in the wrong place at the wrong time your dead, if they didn't add that in maybe this game would be fun? but cool vid Steve once again thanks.
@nitturo, Interestingly enough, back in the days of MTX, I recall porting a couple of MTX games (not including this one though) to MSX and visiting a company apparently interested in selling games for MSX. This was a straightforward port as the graphics chip was the same, and the sound similar. Nothing ever came of this - I'm not sure why.
It reminds me of that Simpsons halloween episode, where the dolphins walked on the land, killed loads of people then forced everyone to live in the ocean. Except the dolfins are replaced with sharks
Scarborough coast...what? That's the exact opposite side to the coast you were on, Sir Steve! ;) (North-east = Scarborough, you were on the SW coast.)
I think, if anything, it's more reminscent of Centipede/Millipede than Space Invaders when you look at it more closely.
Interesting game, though. Besides mild simlarities to the above games, it seems quite unique to me.
I thought it was gonna be that other game where you had to swim in between things, whatever that was.
What the hell is this???? way too many different implements of death going on at once, how are you meant to notice the eel changing color to fire while keeping an eye on the sharks and blue things?
and why is the sea green?
and you're correct Scarborough is brilliant, i've never stayed at the grand but did visit a friend there once, very incredible place inside, anywhooooo i've been awake far too long, goodnight
These are going up pretty late from your time zone. Don't you usually upload somewhere around the morning in your time? Is that to do with youtubes processing time or are you just uploading them later than usual? I've heard people talking about how the processing times were shit lately.
One other thing, there is a way to predict when the electric eels are going to zap, but I forget it now.

Yes, this is based on Matrix, but with a graphics overhaul.

This looks pretty much like "Matrix" for the C64. They just ripped the program and changed some things.
Even the "Got You!"-line is in there after you get killed. Interesting... :D
Linking isn't possible anymore, damn! You have to google "Matrix C64" and click the first video.

Reminds me a bit of a more frustrating Centipede Clone, with the shark pattern

I guess on the Crystal Maze they just stuck this game on in the background to make the sound effects for the Ocean Zone.

Looks an awful lot like Gridrunner, at least several gameplay elements of it. Somewhat unique look to it, for sure!

A Void runner or The US version of Attack of the Mutant Camels/matrix, clone.
