How did you find out where Air Force One was landing? Since Obama is visiting again at the end of the month I'd love to get my own shots of the most famous aircraft on the planet, but I don't want to miss my chance y going to the wrong airport at the wrong time!!
@anticlimax1471 Rumour has it, that Air Force One will use Stansted again for Obama's visit, although Brize Norton and Mildenhall are always possible alternative airports. Just check the usual plane spotter websites (such as fightercontrol.co.uk) regularly to be sure. There are also Yahoo Groups for Stansted, Mildenhall, Brize, etc. where you may find information on that matter, as the event draws nearer.
@anticlimax1471 It has now been confirmed that Air Force One will arrive at Stansted on 24 May 2011. Unfortunately I will not be able to be there this time :-(
awesome plane...the one I saw was Reagan's retired Air Force One. The new ones are really BIG. What an honor. Some can hate Bush all they want but he,Blair will be redeemed in time. Look at Obama now...the world's honeymoon on him is done. Bush popularity is even bigger and the polls higher on him than Obama who has not done anything.
@Albion1983, I stand corrected. Either way though, that's pretty cool that you were able to see that. I'm American and I've never seen freakin' Air Force One and probably never will. Is this in London? Because if so, I thought Heathrow and Gatwick were the only major airports there.
@adamohmg Stansted is quite a bit outside of London but for promotional purposes it is called "London Stansted". It is the third largest airport in the UK. Anyway, when George W. Bush visited London in 2008 he arrived a Heathrow and the tight security measures during his visit caused massive disruptions at the airport. Therefore the airport's bosses did not want Air Force One there again and so it had to land at Stansted instead.
@adamohmg Technically, that's not correct. There are two VC25s but as there is only one POTUS, there can only be one Air Force One at any given time. Air Force One is the callsign used by the aircraft carrying the president. Anyway, the video really shows Air Force One as Barack Obama stepped off this plane a few minutes later.
@ryank456 Oh but there is a need for it. There are security details, press corps, chefs, white house staff and offices on board that plane thus explaining its large size.
I rememer i flew out to america on the same day from gatwick at about 5 pm, so when we were over the atlantic i remember thinking - omg - he's over the same ocean as me! cool!
I love watching Air Force One and other nations world leaders planes and this video was of good quality. So far Air Force One and the India plane are my favorites but I have yet to see all of the planes land I am still looking for that video.

@Albion1983 No shit? I didn't know that. Well anything Bush ever touched turned to shit anyway, so that Heathrow debacle doesn't surprise me.

There are two Air Force One's, both identical. There's always a chance that wasn't his.

Nothing wrong with the quality... perfect. It's always special to watch Airforce One... especially knowing the great passenger it now carries.

Good shot and pan, loved it!
I would have enjoyed seeing the plane, before it had landed at Heathrow, guess Stansted is the norm for Air Force One now on.
