They should know their licks. That said, how does he know they weren't doing the same thing he said he does (trying something new)? I remember an old article about Mick when he first started out. Someone recalls then that Mick had 'only one pair of pants' at the time... He's come a long way since then. He's probably laughing his way to the bank. Good for you, Mick.
Well maybe that was just their way of warming up Mick. Every guitarist has their own way of doing things ya know? But you are definitely an underrated guitarist with great riffs and songwriting abilities my friend. Rock on Bob Deal!
Very true thing to say some guitarists sit there with neck up to their ear before a show doing arpeggios and they are great but they just have to work harder than some natural guitarists who dont play in days and get up and shred!
