  • Is it a funny thing that I tried to sing the whole song?

  • This is beautiful! I love the words

  • This is beautiful! I love the words. :D

Now I have something I can sing during the holiday season.

  • I love the words to this. A most beautiful and enjoyable song. I love these Yule videos, they make me happy :).

  • I love how everyone seems to think christianity was here first it was Wicca get it right, look up the meaning of Yule and Christmas, Christmas copied Yule

  • @KatieBlackrose Actually, Christianity predates Wicca. Paganism was first, then Christianity, Wicca did't come around until 1950 or so.

  • @Magicalcircleschool actually Paganism is a early form of Wicca, Wicca is a branch of Paganism, Wicca was expecially present in the early colonial times, but people didn't openly practice until the 1950's so many people believe it to be a young religion when its not, I actually have a B.O.S. from the early 1700's so Wicca is truely older than most believe

  • @KatieBlackrose Wicca was created by Gerald Gardner.I believe what you are thinking of is a form of Paganism which was considered Witchcraft in that time, though Witchcraft is not a religion but a practice. Wicca, itself, was not created until the 50's. BOS were common and are not strictly a Wiccan thing, but actually are a part of many cultures that practice healing and natural magick.:-)

  • @Magicalcircleschool Pagans (early Wiccans) built Stonehenge and the other Stone Circles. They way predate christianity.

  • @ickiepoo There is no such thing as early Wiccans. Wicca was created in the 20th century. I am not going to argue this with you, Please learn your history. There is no arguing the facts here. Wicca does use aspects of early Paganism, however Wicca and Paganism are not the same thing.

  • @Magicalcircleschool

yes there is a thing. they were the same thing, just switched names, pretty much.

  • @Magicalcircleschool ur right wicca is a branch of paganism just like cathlicism is a branch of christianity believe in the same thing jus practice it different, and if u want to get specific there are different branches of wicca as well depending on which Goddess and God or multiple that you worship it was not created in the 20th early wiccans used witchcraft as the title, and early wiccans hid during the burnin times out of fear they came out of the shadows in the 20th u need ur facts striaght

  • @KatieBlackrose just so you know, Christmas is a celebration of Jesus Christs birth. the western culture stole the pagan traditions, but Christmas truly has absolutely NOTHING to do with Christmas trees and presents.

  • @hammpster1 exactly but try and find 10 people that celebrate christmas and don't give a crap about the trees and lights and decorations and presents, youd be amazed @ how hard it is and some ppl tht celebrate it dont even know why

  • @KatieBlackrose i realize that the true meaning has been over run by the secular idea of Christmas, but my point is that it is completely wrong of you to say that Christians stole Christmas.

  • @KatieBlackrose I agree , unfourtunatly only Wiccans will read the full history behind it , the rest just judges.

  • This was my favorite song from that ritual and I still love to listen to it around Yule. Thanks and Blessed Be!

  • Awesome Thank YOU :)

  • You can see how Christians "revised" this. THIEFES!

  • Very beautiful lyrics to the song. I'm Catholic, and I do appreciate the ways we can bring more joy into the world, no matter what our religions. Blessings with you.

  • This is lovely. If my voice heals in time from my laryngitis, I'd love to sing it at my town's holiday program if that is alright. If I can't sing by the time the program comes, I'd like to at least sing it and put it on youtube, so there is a version with vocals uploaded for those making a Yule playlist.

    Blessed be.

  • Oh my! Sooooooo gorgeous!

  • @marchovens Hark is not a who. Hark means hail or take notice.

  • I adore Yule...all the snow, the chill, the crackling fire, the promise that there is a new spin of the Wheel waiting for you until you visit the Summerland...and yet it's only August. Blessed are the witches, and all of you who love the Lord and the Lady.

Merry Meet, Merry Part. Blessed Be.

  • I really like that someone is trying to blend the lovely song silent night with pagan ideas. I think the result is very nice too.

  • Can´t listen this song. To bad memories...! But maybe someone writng pagan words to this song?

  • @Marco07381 you obviously did not watch the video clip maybe u should and see that lyrics were written they just werent sang

  • Absolutely beautiful song. Being a reformed Catholic, as a child Silent Night, the Christian version, was my favorite carol, not because of the lyrics, they never seemed right to me but the gorgious music. This version gives me even more reason to love the music. Thank you & Blessed Be.

  • I gotta put this in my book of shadows! under the songs

    Blessed be and brightest blessings)O(

  • I put this into my book of shadows! I really really liked it! Thankyou so much for posting this! Its amazing and beautiful!

  • This is incredibly beautiful. Now, I'm not a Wiccan and I am partial to the Christmas tradition (albeit based on Pagan practices, so I've heard), but this is very lovely! What is a "Yule Ritual"?

  • Yule is the celebration of the Winter Solstice. It is the time that symbolizes the rebirth of the sun and light. Which is also the symbol of hope and love.

  • Yule is celebrated at the Winter Solstice. The celebration of the "rebirth" of the sun, the return of the light. A ritual is our version of a church service.

  • @ElanaVital83 yes but so what if they are "based"?

wiccans are "based" on pagan religions too

the difference being christmas has been around for centuries whilst wicca was invented in the 50's by some nutty brit. wicca is about as genuine as scientology.

  • @ElanaVital83 For those who walk the Germanic pagan way, it is the New Year. Yule is the Old English word for "wheel" and is the point where the old year turns to the new. "Deck the Halls" is a traditional Yule song that never was changed to describe Christmas at all, and it talks about the blazing Yule log and the passing of the old year into the new.

  • Merry meet! Nice, well done.

  • Oooh, that was wonderful! Thank you so much!

    Blessings for the new year!

  • Beautiful..... you just got a new subscriber!

  • Great work!! Blessed Yule to everyone!!!

  • You as well!

  • WOW!!!!!

    By everything. I love this!!!!

  • Beutiful! Rejoyce our Mother Earth!

  • A joyous Yule to all this night.

The Holly King cedes his place to the Oak King

And the light ,warmth and renewal that he will bring.

  • May all spirits shine strong on this night, may we remember who we are.

    Bring back the light.

Merry meet and merry meet again.

    Many Blessings to U all!

  • i am secular but happy yule.

  • Me too !

    )o( b/b )o(

  • hey! quick question. I try to write in my bos every day. how often do you write in ours?

    Blessed be )o(

  • I write in it whenever I feel like it or when I need to add/mend something urgently.

  • I have separate journal for everyday thoughts and gratitude and I save my BOS for mostly spell or magick specific work. So I might write in it every day for 3 weeks and then maybe not again for a month, it all depends...

)O( Blessed Be and Happy New Year )O(

  • Beautiful. I'm planning my church's solstice service today, and am getting in the mood with wonderful videos like yours.

  • @ly1228 : Solstice service--at a /church/?

  • Unitarian Universalist.

  • Ah. :)

  • I really loved this song! How about a vocal version?

  • I think it's lovely. Way back in my Christian days Silent Night was my favorite Christmas song. Now it is, most definantly, my favorite Yule song. I showed it to my sister, who is not Wiccan but has a huge problem with organized religion (or religion in general), and she she just loved it. Great job.

  • Lovely, well done and very soothing to listen to. Thank you for doing this. Peace

  • Nice ***********

  • I dont like it, not becouse it is done poorly but we complain because christians stole our symbols, its kinda hypocrytical to steal there music

  • You knew what it was before you listened to it, so if you didn't think it would be something you wanted to hear then no one forced you to listened.

Secondly, Christians didn't "steal" anything from Pagans at all. They used already known themes and reworked them to fit their needs. The same thing that any Eccectic Wiccan does. I didn't steal any music here, I simply took a known melody and reworked it to fit with my beliefs.

  • brilliant!

  • Wow! Very beautiful! Blessed be!

  • Blessed Be )O(

  • Thanks so much for this. The Winter Solstice was always so difficult for me, as I'd seen it warped by sick minds. Wicca helped me reclaim it and find peace. Thanks for providing such a beautiful, gentle reminder that Yule is rebirth of light. Blessed be.

  • i wonder, is there pagan-stylized lyrics to go with this?

  • I admit, I had to smile. It brings a nice calm, warm feeling.

  • This is beautiful.

  • amazing and so peaceful thank you and blessed be

  • What a Beautiful Song! =D I can't wait to celebrate the Yule!

    Blessed Be )O(

  • Me too! I love Yule!!

    Blessed be :)

  • Summer just ended and school is starting back up for me. For some reason I'm already dreaming of the winter season and people coming together and celebrate!

The warm and safe feeling of the holidays and people thinking of others, just beautiful. It almost makes me sad when its all over and the snow melts.

It's such a shame that the same feeling doesn't come during any other season but only this one, which is what makes it so special :)

    b.b )(*)(

  • lol I know right? I myself am ready for Halloween :)

  • The musical arrangement for this is so beautiful. Is it available on an album or for internet download? Thanks for sharing!

  • my best friend is christian and i believe in paginism and we get along like sisters so i disagree with u barak, and i agree with magicalcircleschool.

  • O: that was a lovely version of silent night, did you know that the original was created in germany and was created by a pastor's poem and the music director to make it with a guitar because of the organ dying and was not able to get it fixed on time for Christmas

  • What a cool bit of trivia! Thanks for sharing it!

  • beautiful.....i love the song better then silent night holy night even tho i am christian.....i am checking this religion out to see on what it's like.

  • Most beautiful !!!!!

  • i love it. good show!

  • merry ye meet!

    again thankyou!

    ) () ( Blessed Be ) () (

  • would you please stop trying to scare people into beleiving your religion! its insulting rude and so stupid! people choose their religions because they want to and i dont think its right for you to try and scare them away from their beliefs!

  • Beautiful. Thank you.

  • This was so nice, I'm thinking about using it for my coven:)

  • I grew up as a jesuit catholic, this song meant alot to me, and to my dad's side of the family.. I have it in Irish.. When I crossed over to the Craft, I, well, forgot this song... THANK YOU! for bringing back the memories of family fun. I really needed this since I have recently lost both my last living grandparent and one of my uncles.

  • Lovely thank you for your time in doing this :D

  • BE DIFATTI RIPENSANDOCI MI PARE che esiste anche la Cristo-Wiccan :)

  • però mettere una canzone di religione Cattolico-Cristiana in un video della religione Wicca...non credete sia un contrasto?

  • I used Google Translator to translate my response in Italian:

Dove "Silent Night" è visto come un canto cristiano, così come il cristianesimo si è evoluto dalle sue radici in modo Pagan Wicca può includere motivi e convinzioni cristiane. Questa è la bella cosa Wiccan fede è che si possono prendere in prestito da qualsiasi sistema religioso.

  • In english I said: Where Silent Night is seen as a Christian song, just as Christianity has evolved from its Pagan roots so can Wicca incorporate Christian motifs and beliefs. That is the nice thing about Wiccan faith is that you can borrow from any religious system.

  • It doesn't really seem like a contradiction to me, because Christianity (as far as I know), overtook Pagan Holidays anyway, including putting their Christmas at our Solstice.
