  • I hope and pray I get to the financial level that would allow me to easily buy one of those!

  • I hope they do the new challenger 392.

  • Have this car with all options, It drove smoothly in both sport and comfort mode(airplane like ride on comfort and still has sporty handling) the blind spot assist on the side mirrors are in the good position (MB intentionally put them there) because every time a car comes up on the side while cruising (freeway) I won't be annoyed by the light unlike my previous car Audi s5 with the same feature which lit up in my eye sight every time there is a car on the side which gets annoying overtime.

  • Good car no problems and totally up to date.

  • I have this car is is beyond nice.

  • @gaven45628 So, what about all that Cunningham complains about? Is the car hard to drive in any mode but manual. Is the nav system really the Atari64 he impllies that it is? Is it really no fun to drive, only to be seen driving?

  • Wow. I didn't know cnet also reviews cars. I thought they were just for gadgets :O

  • It's hilarious that he says nothing about the most positive aspects of this car (awesome drive train and exterior styling) and immediately starts in on a rip job of the navigation system. Yeah I'm real glad that nav functionality (that no one NEEDED before it was invented) but this knob carries on like the basic mechanics of the car are, well, really not that important. Go search Audi A7 to see this ass clown really pull the head off it.

  • did you see that jaguar XJ IN 6:03.

  • Nice car

  • Cls 550 is everyone's dream car...WOW!!!!

  • This guy rips the shit out of every car he likes nothing lol

  • worlds best engine AMG.

  • It's really made in germany?? Or up in Detroit along with the chrysler c300??

  • This guy is like Jeremy Clarkson American version !!!!!!

  • I'd rather get the 2013 vw cc.

  • @ivacls77 dont worry i am now. this car is it.

  • @ivacls77 screwed up?? Buddy, all i have to say is go take a look at one in actuality, I felt the same about this car until i saw a black one parked today all by itself. unbelievable, i mean everyone was taking pictures

  • Thank you for such a thorough, outspoken review. I love this quote: "This isn't a car you get a grin from driving; it's a car you get get a grin from being SEEN in." Brilliant stuff! Any cars that you would say a person would get a grin BOTH from driving and being seen in?!

  • I like this guy's reviews, he doesn't hold back on dishing out the bad points which I do like to see instead of other reviewers who just gloss over them and spend more time on the good.

Really nice car though, wouldn't mind owning one one day but as a current BMW Sport coupe driver, I am somewhat taken back by the lack of driving feel of the new CLS going by many reviews, the assisted steering mainly because BMW have the steering down to a T with feedback and weighty feel.

  • I love this car, it's not too big, not too small, just perfect and very slick.

  • @ancoloco ojdpjpjapdscadskcd

  • too many complaints for a $100,000 car

  • Very nice car. I moved up from a 2008 E350 4 matic. and this car is way more powerful, comfortable and consumes less gas than the E class. Its fun to drive and has great acceleration. So far, I am very happy with it.

  • Can someone explain me why the Netherlands do not have a CLS 550 but do have and CLS 500 which has the same HP and engine?? Furthermore, it is unfair that the CLS 550 starts at 71 900 in the States, here in the Netherlands the freaking thing starts at 110 000 euros.

  • I will supercharge my CLS and keep it.

  • I own the previous CLS and it's such a nicer looking car, they screwed up with the 2012 model big time it looks like a E-class sedan what were they thinking. I was looking forward to purchase the new CLS but when I saw it I just walked out of the dealership, mercedes should of taken the design of the previous CLS and improved it not ruin it they turned a sports coupe to a sedan what a shame it was a beautiful car made to target the younger generation and they ruined it. I won't be buying.

  • I WAAAAAAANT THIS FUCKING CAAAARR MAN

I WANT ALL MERCEDES CLASS (cls, clk, sls, s class and e class) my fav YOU CAN NEVER GO WRONG WITH A mercedes

i am gonna get this car i hope my hard work boxing can buy me this car in the future

  • Cars got swag.

  • Good review, nice and clear to the point and non bias. liking it :)

  • European Quality BABY!!!!!!!!1

  • Wonderful car...... I'm really excited to see its AMG And Brabus versions.

  • give credit where it deserves.. Awesome car.

  • With that auto-park I think it is a woman's car

  • way too critical.. way too bias...dude it takes time get used to a car. chill, this is one fine automobile.

  • European cars have the WORST nav system. The nav on a Honda Civic is easier to use and smarter. It is what it is.

  • Love this guy!

  • This will be my next car!

  • anyone else think the previous CLS had better styling?

  • @t3hdude

Yes, I agree this one looks like a E-class sedan they screwed up big time.

  • this and the jaguar xj are just the sexiest luxury cars out today in my opinion

  • 0:40

    ".....or pomposity"

I loved how he slipped that word in. Most reviews of ANY product aren't as articulate.

  • 6:02 Jaguar xjl better car

  • If you ask me, the previous gen CLS lookes more classy. It looked like a coupe even with four doors. This one seems to be reverting to the old sedan looks. It then sort of defeats the purpose.

  • @JMCporsche

The previous one does look better no question about it. They turned a beautiful coupe into a E-class sedan.

  • @ivacls77 I hate when car manufactures put so much emphasis on making their lineup all look the same. The old CLS was unique, and now, as you said, it is just one of the many

  • This guy knows nothing about cars and doesn't know how to drive for that matter. Who Hired him for this job? I agree with the Voice control on the phone but, the rest of the review wasway off. Also the car is alot faster and stronger then Mercedes claims to be and for some one who is reviewing the car should actualy test for themselves not read from the manufactures website!! And I don't know what is he talking about the On or Off speed of this car!!!

  • what is that song???

  • but can it blend?

  • Problem is this car was designed to cruise at 250kmh. In america they can't really drive a merc at speeds it was built for. I'd recommend a lexus for the reviewer - I think he's looking for a simple to use luxury vehicle, not state of the art high speed european tourers. Plus there is the cost saving. Since I can afford neither I shall keep dreaming of the merc. :)

  • @Michael7477 Sir, I must tell that your comment is absolutely spot on! That On/off power feel (judder) that create discomfort to him is mainly because this car requires a loong stretch of road without limits, like the German Autobahn, in which this car was originally designed for. There's a CLS350 in Europe which I think is more suitable for American roads with lesser speed limits.

  • If no can afford a 2012 Mercedes Benz CLS 550, including the base, then you can wait for the 2012 Audi A7. It's got and eight speed automatic transmission, MMI, a turbocharged 3.0 V6 engine with Quattro AWD, and has a base price of $60,000. Add $20,000 in options and you have an $80,000 car with the best-looking car that compete with the CLS 550!

  • BY FAR DA BEST REVIEWER!!!!!!!

  • WOW...like the design but think alot of those packages should already be included for 72k!!

  • Brian/CNET u guys need to add either a star rating or an infographic listing all the good and bad things about the car.

  • Anyone know the song?

  • thumbs up if you want cooley to review gadgets like this!

  • Please do a review of a cheap car. hyundai, kia, ..... :)

  • Brian Cooley is very good at reviewing cars

  • song at 0:20 ??

  • awes0me review

  • unless you're stupid and don't look at the mirror when changing lanes, then the blind spot indicator is in perfect spot,

  • A 2012 Infiniti M35h does 0-60 in 5.1 seconds and gets 27 MPG in the city and 32 MPG on the highway. It also cost less than $72,000 when fully loaded!

  • @theballinmaster I too am a huge fan of the M35h... I can't wait till they put that hybrid system in their FX, EX or G vehicles.

  • @OneOfaKind949 Since Infiniti is Nissan's luxury brand, do you think that Nissan can also use the same hybrid technology, like the Infiniti, for the future Altima Hybrid and Sentra Hybrid? It would actually be cool putting the electric motor in between the engine and CVT transmission. Then it will get crazy fuel mileage!

  • @theballinmaster I would hope NIssan does follow suit, and adds a hybrid system to their vehicles as well. The only problem with putting Infinitis hybrid system in a Nissan is. The Infiniti hybrid system is as of now only build for cars with real wheel drive. Most Nissian vehicles are front wheel drive. So they have to do some engineering to fit that system in a front wheel drive vehicle. I'm sure eventually you will see Nissan hybrids, I believe in Nissan they did build the Leaf and GTR.
