  • man if i knew indian hair was so costly i would grow mine out all the time and then cut it and sell it through the seasons like a sheep.

  • During Slavery our people was taught to hate themselves. They taught us that the best looking image was White Jesus or white people in General or Blonde hair and blue eyes. Generations later we hate ourselves. But little do black people know. God Almighty ,Jesus Christ and the People in the Bible had the Same Skin complexion and hair texture as Blacks and Hispanics. Thats something we should be proud of. We should be happy about about our hair and skin. because we are the real Israelites/Jews

  • look i personally think GOOD HAIR is healthy hair no matter what type, relaxed, permed, natural, whatever. i think BAD HAIR doesn't exist but damaged hair is not the best thing, even if your hair is mad damaged it's not bad or evil, i've seen people of all races with damaged hair. but i'm pro healthy. like whatever you do, be nice to your hair ;)) LOL

  • "relaxed & nice" I hate that thin look. It breaks hair off. I want to see voluminous afro texture!

  • IM BLACK WITH HAIR FLOWING DOOWWNNN TO MY ASS

    NO PERM ALL NATURAL

WHITE WOMEN HAVE BAD HAIR THIN WITH NO VOLUME

I LOVE BEIUNG BLACK GET OVER IT BITCHESS

  • @JaimeDuFrancais I don't think it's right to say ANYone has bad hair, including white women. As one stylist in the movie said, if you've got hair on your head, you've got good hair.

  • im of mixed decent and anyone who has a negative comment about any race can shove it. ALL people are vain and do things to make themselves look/feel better. I have long hair and i wear clip ins sometimes just to give myself a different look. some of you people need to take a step back and re-evaluate your own lives before you write rude and ignorant comments about other people. If a girl wants to relax her hair so the hell what? that has NOTHING to do with you. wtf is wrong with you people?

  • ice cube wife is white

  • @LaBlondeLaParisienne you mean ice-t wife is white, ice cube wife is black

  • Shut the fuck up we like to look good! I bet if they gave men dick surgeries for $5000

    you would buy it lol

  • $5000 dollars for some fucking hair these bitches have seriously lost their mind. I would take that $5000 and by a home businees or a down payment on a Prime Time Shuttle Van to take people to the airport. No wonder the black community is shambles because of these fake ass niglet bitches piss me the fuck off.

  • 'If you see some black women just run the other way!' LOL too funny

  • i soo did not like this movie.im sooo tired of movies and black men poking at black women.i feel that if he want to know about perms he shouldve ask his wife.now i got to deal with white people(no offence) asking me is my hair real and it is.he shouldve show how white women where weave to. to just aim at black women and try to say we wear perms because we want to look like white women which is a lie.some women prefer perms because its easy for them to obtain their hair.

  • if its 1000 dollars ...it shouldt get messed up right??oh my badd u cant jump in a pool cuz it can mess up...weave is just a waste of money...and its making the whites and asians richer

  • y r people saying "white women wear weave too"

stop bringing up other races...this movie is just talking about black women...i mean other races wear weave and extensions too but probably for a short time...but black women have weaves everyday or every year and thousands or miilons of dollars are spent just to have hair of a white girl or indian girl...smh

there is nothing wrong with having ur natural hair...just love what GOD gave you!

  • @jg1029xx THANKYOUUU

  • White women wear weave too. N yea whn the Indian man went, "tell me" i loled, lol.

  • People always say that black people don't have nice hair, but if i had hair like that i wouldn't care, there are so many different styles you could do, unlike any other hair.

  • it dont matter what kind of hair you have as long as you have hair its good hair, this one lady came up to me and my sister one day and asked if we were mixed and we said yes and she said "i thought so, yall got that bubble gum hair" and we were like is that a good or bad thing, i love my hair and i embrace it, whether it be curly or straight :)

  • i will never get a weave. my hair is wicked awesome the way it. i've had it relaxed like3 times but that is it... ive had natural breaks inbetween. and i am 17.

  • Tracie! Raven! Muah -3.

  • African American hair is beauitiful! People are amazed with the weaves, dreads, braids, twists and all the styles we can create! i rock my natural hair all day every day and i don't judge if you have a weave or perm.

  • Good hair is healthy hair:)

  • As an African American woman I think that weaves, wigs, extensions, etc. are just an accessory not a necessity! Like...a purse, or extra bangle. I love my natural hair! For 3 years I’ve learned to be numb to negativity & embrace my unique beauty. B/c face it...natural hair is like a finger print -no other woman's hair will ever look like mine. THAT alone makes me feel stunning. :)

  • I love black men buh if I ever marry one I'm scared to have a baby girl cuz I wouldn't know wat to do with her hair.!

  • @12sunshinebaby chances are, their hair will be curly lol, not "nappy"

  • @12sunshinebaby

Ask black women. They will most likely be kind about it and refer you to some interesting places that will teach you how to work with kinky hair

  • this was a really interesting documentary.

  • Paul mooney is fucken funny!

  • honestly i love african american hair

i think is unique and beautiful

is somehting that represents their roots

they shouldnt be ashamed of that :)

  • lol @ "keep your hands to yourself" & 'LAYAWAY WEAVE PLAN"

  • Tracie Meagan Raven i luv u all!!!

  • I think that African American women should wear their hair how they want to, but they should also wear their hair naturally. The reason for this is because they can create really interesting hairstyles other people cannot . I think it is really creative and it is also interesting to see the different hairstyle.

  • @adeley27 , oh your comment made me feel so happy for some reason :)

  • Black people don't wear weaves to seem more white .. what are white people trying to be when they wear weaves more WHITE? .. I dont think so lmfao All girls any race use weaves and we wear them because we dont want to damage our REAL hair by straightening it and ect. if you havent notice to much of that for any race can cause you to have no hair at the age of 25 lmfao ..

  • At 1:06, Meagan is so astonishingly pretty. My hair only gets pressed or braided. My mom was talked into getting my a relaxer and it took half my hair out, but my hair comes a little past my shoulders now. More Black women have long hair than you are made to think.

  • Am I right in thinking weaves can actually damage your natural hair permanently?

  • i hate this, gosh americans!

  • i think meagan is prettier than lauren.

  • Both of them are beautiful!

  • I have dated black women all my life and had countless hair discussions. And I must say, I do hate weaves. There is a certain intimacy you just cannot establish with a black woman with weaves, because she will never let you touch her hair, play with it, pull it, smell it (well it doesn't smell anything anyway because it's not hers). Kinda sad....

  • @MrFufumann and you Mr. ..... lmfao you act like black women are the only girls who wear weaves .. all those victoria secrets models and models period britney spears ect. they all wear weaves its equal between races everyone wears them ... why is it such a big deal when a black girl has it .. but when a white girl has a hair weave its ok :/

  • @Etonnantebeaute

Oh I never said black women are the only ones wearing weaves, but since I have pratically only dated black, that's what I know. I think weaves are equally nasty on other women of any color. What I meant to say, is that women who get weaves only reduce their hair to the way it looks. But when a man gets down with a woman, he wants to touch and smell the hair - yeah some like to pull =) - so weaves are indeed a BIG turnoff romantically speaking.

  • @MrFufumann lmfao oksss :) ... Well hair makes makes your hair healthier :)

  • i still never saw it!...

  • this is a must have movie

  • can't wait to see this movie. if anybody knows where i can see it online, please let me know

  • Hey do you see how great Melyssa Ford looks here?!!!! just extraordinary

  • I know supposedly "white" people who relax their hair and I refuse to relax my daughters hair (she has good hair ...). I am white and permed my hair once-DAMN curly hair is a pain in the ass...

  • Relaxers were made to ONLY relax with a wave pattern. You need hot appliances to get it super straight. That is why many black women are now natural and use different natural oils and herbs to get a wave pattern. Then after use a hot styling appliance. I know because that is what I do.

  • thats why its so hard to date a black girl, they never want to get in the pool, never want to move around too much because its all about their hair. u cant take em out to have a legit good time. no confidence in themselves.

  • @mvpnashty13 Just because a Black woman doesn't want to get into a pool and mess up her hair does not mean she has no self confidence she simply doesn't want to mess up hair she has put so much time into doing and if it's a weave why would she want to mess it up? but it has nothing to do with self confidence and stop generalizing because not all Black women are like that. I stopped relaxing a year ago, with natural hair I have now and the relaxed hair I had before I have always had confidence

  • white people do relaxe, but it turn out curly instead. Lol

  • White people tan and they profess to be proud of being white and even discriminate against people with darker skin pigmentation. If black are trying to be white we sure are trying to be Black for thoise millions white folks spends on tanning.

  • black peopel do relaze they call it perm , instead of getting a straighrt hair it curls, wow, ignorant are all over

  • 2009MzNZ ok hair do get thin when u age, black, white, brown, purple , blue it does.

  • YES GLUE

  • Why is everyone saying "they" black men bitch about short hair too.

  • thank god in heaven for Mr.Paul Mooney.

  • Saw this movie today. I LOVED it.

Highly recommend men and women go to see it together. It is in no way a "chick flick" plenty of guys in the movie.

The theatre was pretty packed with men and women. And when we weren't all laughing, folks were super quiet trying not to miss a word. Imagine that, black folks, QUIET in a movie theatre? You know it had to be good. :-)

  • Good hair is any type of hair that is well groomed and taken cared of it can be straight, curly, fro wateva, but I hae seen some woman with relaxed hair and they look a hot mess. I got a relaxer @ 8 years old and wen I got to middle scholl all the edges of my head was bald so I went natural 2 years ago when I was a junior in I school and my hair grew so fast compared to when I was relaxed. I notiice dat a more woman r going back to natural hair and natural hair is focused on more.

  • I just want to put it out there that not only white people have naturally "relaxed" hair. Other races do as well like asians, and some pacific islanders, Indians and native Indian americans.

  • I went to see this Tuesday at a Movie Premier...It was funny as hell. Good job!!

  • This is probably the only movie I have looked forward to this year.

  • ooooooooooooooooh i get so tired of it.....if you wear a weave or have relaxed hair you want to look white plzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz first of all relaxed hair dont even looks white! and i had relaxed hair but now i am natural for 5 years now but i wear it in weaves for about 2 or 3 years cuzzz it was a lot of work....and i dont want to look white! I still identify myself with black celebrities and woman ..... pfffff love them! even if they wear a weave or whatever..... who caressssssssss

  • @Lifeisfun84

    Some Black men care.

  • @Lifeisfun84 Looks like you don't know your history the real reason black people started putting perms in their hair. Research that before you talk please

  • It is what it is...whatever makes em happy...but facebook or myspace Gavin Persaud...that nigga got sum really really good hair!

  • this movie is going to be so popular, can't wait

  • White people won't understand this movie. That makes me sad.

  • I am white and I TOTALLY understand the movie, I was already cracking up just from the previews...my husband is African so our kids came out with "good hair" and already I am going at my daughters with the straightening iron by request. My oldest is asking for a weave...she has two tons of beautiful hair on her head but asks for something else already...

  • For a white person to say thier biraical child have good hair is the sterotype that hurts little black girls. Because is says if your not mix or biracail you dont have "good hair. biracial children have hard time aswell because thier friends pick on them for having what is considered good hair because its means your better than. We all have good hair you just have to learn to take better care of it. Hair to blk women is Weight to White women so use your words wisley. I hate the term good hair.

  • how old is she... i wouldn't do it if you give in she will want it all the time trust....

If she has pretty hair just straighten it or put it in braids

  • This movie is funny. But I really do feel sorry for black women that you have to buy hair so it can look like someone in a movie. If I had really long hair. Id cut it and give it too you for free.

  • mmm... sounds like you are trying to be funny low key here.

  • Compassionate. But the movie does look funny is the only thing I'm implying.

  • thats dumb...so only black people buy hair?? i guess u didnt watch oprah. You should cut your hair and save it for yourself for when you get old and dried up and your hair starts falling and thinning out, you can simply glue the one u saved up there!

  • Pipe down little one. Dont get so sensitive. Its my opinion and I can do and say what I like. And Im polynesian with asian type hair so I doubt it will get dried up. I havent seen asians with dried hair. It may go grey but thinning how can it get thinner than it is already. And I never ever said "only black people buy hair" I said I feel sorry for black women who have to buy hair. X

  • If you don't wear hats/scarves this will help prevent thinning...also shampooing/massage helps too to keep good circulation on your head...lots of African women start losing their hair in the front because they are always covering their heads with scarves...

  • ??? glue ?????

  • I cannot wait for this.

  • It's not the sixties anymore hair is not political.

  • For the 4 ppl intrested in movie's only bout hair this looks nice

  • Definately a funny movie and I'll go see it. Chris Rock is hillarious. But it saddens me that black women spend $9,000,000,000.00 a year to have WHITE woman hair. But yet profess to be proud to be black.

  • lol, so true.

  • for real...

  • Not ALL black women relax their hair to be white....that's a common misconception. I think natural and relaxed hair is beautiful as long as its well taken care of. Though you do have a minor point, there are some ignorant ones that do it to be perceived better by the "majority". But thats a small percentage. I too am excited to see this movie, even though it is comical I hope it does shed light on this problem.

  • I am white, and DAMN if I am not going to color my hair! What is the difference? Many white ladies perm their hair to give it some body so it is not flat and lifeless...if it makes you look better so be it!

  • LOL. You have me rolling on the floor. Aren't we something? Once we find what makes us look good will do whatever we have to do to keep the look up. I know my white friends are not giving up their dyes. Some do when they are pregnant. But I noticed Elisabeth Hasselbeck kept bleaching. I have friends who have stopped relaxing their hair & some who wear weaves. But I also know some black women who have never relaxed & love their nappy hair. I know some white women who have never dyed, too.

  • ok nosleraccubond it's not about being white, you're missing the point, but i am sure u post ur dumb comment in purpose. "SOME" Black hair is hard to manage , and getting it relax make it easier . Anyways, i'm not gonna try to educate everyone who post a stupid comment, it is what it is. White people wear hair and relax their hair c where i'm going .....? phew.... Ignorant Should be a crime

  • White people relax their hair? What? Based on your laws, you are under arrest. Don't make me Rodney King yo ass!

  • awesome idea it looks great!....BUT!!! ....natural is the way to go!

  • pleace black girls naturelle is the best.

  • lmao if you see a black women run

  • Sad. The Black Hair Care Business is a 9 BILLION DOLLAR industry....Guess how much of that is black owned???

  • chris rock is awsome

  • yea this looks mad funni .. black weman are like that though ,, not all just the ones with the weeve ... lmao .. i hate weeve.. i got it once n i feel fake..i wanted to take it out emmediately .. but uhmm my hair cant take chemicals. perm is bad for sum ppl.. it broke my hair.. so now i just wear my hair natural and curly .. [= .. n i straighten it sometimes with a combing iron.. no chemicals needed .. [=

  • I would like to see how many of da female celebrities we look up to actually sport fake hair

  • But one sure way to get rich is to open a beauty supply store in the hood.

    Those frigging asians are smart.lol

  • lmao at 1:56

  • Bw should find ways to style their own natural hair.

I love a bw with natural hair and not that eurocentric bs.

  • Yay can't wait to see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • black women are pathetic. they spend billions of dollars a year to look like white women, yet claim they love themselves and love being black. they have low self esteem and its terrible. and pls note that the billions of dollars they spend goes to OTHER racial groups cuz they produce all these chemicals and weaves. black women, get it together

  • All black women aren't like this. For your info some black women get their hair permed because it's harder to manage thick and nappy hair. I know for a fact because I permed my hair, because my hair sucks up all the grease and gel I might put in it because it's so thick. I don't do it anymore because of the damage it does to your hair. So, it's not all black women, just some that self-esteem issues.

  • The issue is more complex then just "getting it together" and, I'm assuming you feel the solution is, simply going natural. It's also not just about self esteem either. A woman's lively hood could be at stake as well.

Look at Nia Long. The woman is drop dead georgeous and she carries herself w/ confidence.

I'm sure she may have been pressured to look more Euro-entric to land certain roles for certain movies. It doesn't mean she has low self-esteem.

  • @twim20 shut the hell up it goes far deeper than your stupid ass comment society arent really that accepting of afros and nice curls especially in the industry that Nia long and Megan Good work in you dong find many roles where as they will cast a woman with an afro except if its a 70s movie

  • not really some black women such as myself.... get relaxers and texturizers because their hair is very thick and hard to manage...

others just think its cute to be that way....

  • I love nappy hair .I only rock waves locs

    and a fro.

  • Wake up ppl...this is the one to see!

  • Haha looks good (:

  • Just be happy with the hair God gave you...adding a wig, weave or extensions is fine but dangerous chemicals??? no no no :( I really want to see this and I can't wait till it comes on DVD so I can watch it here in Tokyo!!

  • Lol

  • white actresses where the first to ware weaves and still do. 99% of the white women in Texas and the south have weaves. NOT All white WOMEN ARE BORN WITH LONG FULL HAIR.....

  • @d2tminc some ppl like the ones who post re re comments think that black women were the first ones to start wearing weaves and wigs obvi they dont know anything about old hollywood and today in the present future where jessica simpson has a frikin wig and weave line out

  • LOL this looks interesting,

    looking forward to it!

  • I wanna see this movie. =D

  • OMG im going to see this!!

  • theres no such thing as good hair and bad hair. just some bullshit to keep black folks at each others neck. all hair is good

  • loll

  • in my opinion, it's about time something like this came out. people should look however they want, but it is very troublesome, this idea of "good hair", to begin with. it's like the bollywood actresses in india using dangerous products to lighten their skin; it's a hideous sickness in modern society that needs to be dealt with, and i think this doc is a very good way to do it. ladies can get the weave if they want, but it's time to get rid of the idea of "good hair".

  • i agree! this looks funny... but it really is bringing attention to the serious issue.. like the chemicals involved in relaxers.. its terrible.. black is beautiful..and so is white and everything in between! i wish these complexes would just disappear.

  • Looking forward to this film!!
