It's definitely an intriguing concept. However, I have to agree with fellow posters that it looks like a medically induced coma with hospital grade pharmaceutical barbs/benzos with heavy naloxone to clear king opiate out of the brain. But, I'm not a doctor. I would think the procedure's rate of success and comfort/discomfort largely depends on the individual undergoing the treatment. I can tell you that I've been through withdrawals a few times for a bad hydrocodone addiction and the 2nd time
Maybe the junkie cop should go to prison...that's what would happen to the average joe...the hell with detox...he should just quit! Such a double standard...he gets medical care...if it were me, i would get jail time...go figure!
Lucky Bastard! I had to kick smack cold turkey. @ weeks of no sleep, the first three days I couldn't move w/out vomiting, no energy to get up after the nausea subsides. And did I mention no sleeping during all this? One min. burning up, the next, freezing to death, rapid jerking of the extremities. Grasping at straws, deliriously asking my wife: I know you brought something for me, please please! But doing it for my newborn son, I made it through it! Like I said: Lucky Bastard!
What if you detox yourself and clean up from pills but then something happens and you get hurt really bad and need the pills. Will a doc give them to you or make you suffer so do not get addicted again? Will would get dependant again if say you broke your foot and the doc gave you like 30 percs for it? Just curious...
Very interesting. Maybe you should get counseling & rehab with your surgery? Someone to look out for you when you go home. Miracle? Cure? Safe? Healthy?
what do they mean, "the face of addiction has changed" !? It's always been mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, husbands, wives, etc. It's always been doctors, lawyers, bakers, candlestick makers, AND, there is clearly a genetic component in addiction, just as with any other disease.
it seems i survived s cancer and now the codeine makes methink about suicide, there is someonet hat know how much dollars costs this new detox therapy ???ps..for not american citizen..i'll be really grateful to the person who'll give me this informtion, thanks !!
I've done the sleep therapy to detox from heroin, but when I woke up after 3 days of benzo/barbs sleep I felt so bad....irresistible withdraw and I went away still under benzo/barbs effect, half sleeped, and I did take 1mg of buprenorfina in vein to quite myself....the method of which the video speak has been started in Israel and is called UROD,ultrarapid opiates detox, even here in Italy has been used and may be still used, but I'm not sure that it works.....WILL IS THE BASE OF DETOX
If somebody has a habit, one 24 hour pharmacological induced coma doesn't do shit for his psychological dependance. He says he feels no pain right now because he probably got dosed with a massive does of benzos/barbs to keep him sedated lol...this doctors a crock of shit with his "one way only way" method for the camera. again full of shit. anybody who wants to do what he just did can just stock up on benzos and dose themselves accordingly at home.
First there is NO induced coma and is NOT 24hrs. This is a procedure done in a couple of hours while blood pressure, heart rate and vitals are controlled. Patients have a full pre exmaination and they are inpatient usually for 7 days to ensure not just comfort but safety. It is not as simple as you may think. These are experienced and trained doctors working in a hospital.
@Jsmooth7444 24 hrs and ure dependancy on the physical sense is gone but cos ure not having to deal with physical it gives you more control over the mental situation bilieve me i got clean the hard way and its not good i was in extreme pain agony
You can not deal with the emotional issues while you are phisically feeling horrible. Once you are detox and NOT craving , you can handle your emotions better.
i have been an addict for years.... i would love to look more into this treatment where and how do i find out the information .... i am currently taking subutext which has helped alot but i dont want to have to continue to talk a pill for the rest of my life....
these are the drugs you government takes a share of the profit form how many lives dose this effect America you should be ashamed about your health care
its very hard to detox off methadone,i pray to god to end my life somtimes becos im to guttless to suicide ,11yrs on 110mg per day,i am alone, family dumped me completley 20yrs ago for stealing off them,i dont blame them ,i blame myself, frigin hard,so hard
@d9andy992 I feel bad for you, i had the same problem but luckily i am only 23 and kicked my habit very early due to suboxone. i hope things work out for you.
this treatment doesnt work with people with long time hard core habits like ..2 years or more daily use of heroin or methadone.....If u go on this while on methadone u will wake up violently ill, rapided detox...
@necroxeon Im not really sure of the basis of your statement. With this treatment patients on over 200 mg of Methadone are able to be fully detoxed without the misery of months of withdrawal. This treatment is used by patients that have been using opiates for over decade and it works very well. It requires a combined effort of the patient to stay off opiates, but this is a humane detox that has brought life back to thousands of patients.

@opiatescom I went through this 5 years ago after my pain dr. had me on methodone, oxycodone, and morphine for 6-7 years. It doesn't make your cravings go away but it saves you from going through weeks and even months of horrible withdrawal pain. I went through this while on opiates AND methodone (they give you morphine and valium the entire time you're in the hospital anyways) and had a good outcome. You don't wake up "violently ill". It's extremely hard but has saved thousands of lives.
@necroxeon I had this treatment and it works! Yes you still feel the withdrawals when you wake up but my belief is easy come easy go. You have to go through pain to appreciate being clean. My detox lasted 4 days after leaving the detox centre but now with that feeling tattooed in my mind it is another reason why i will never use that shit again. Rapid detox works and it makes it much easier than going cold turkey. I would prefer to detox from heroin 5 times than methadone once.
Mattman4020 and armo1, finally some people who get it, YouTube is filled with so many people whining about how they need suboxone , but it's still an opiate, . 127 days completely opiate free. After 5 years of takin em everyday. And u know what. " it ain't always pretty, but it's real" and sometimes it is pretty. U just gotta deal with the ups and downs. No other way.
I admire his initiative. However, he began taking the medication FOR a reason. His back/hip/whatever pain WILL not go away. I feel bad for the people who legitimately have reasons for taking pain killers, because they take the drugs because they feel the pain, and become addicted because of that.
Hearing this treatment. Made me so happy. I almost teared up, to hear I can get over my addiction and skip the withdrawals. I can quit... I want to quit... The detoxing is the part that makes it impossible for me. But I heard they are charging over 20,000 dollars for this treatment. WHO CAN AFFORD THAT? God I want this treatment so bad. But no way in hell I can pay that much.
As a pharmacist I can tell you, this "rapid detox" is bullshit. The success rate is bullshit as it the rehab bullshit. The only way you get better is dealing with the withdrawal and coming to terms with yourself mentally. I am a pharmacist and I USED to be a Hydrocodone addict.
@TheArmo1 Yep. Today is my 31st day clean. Completely cold turkey. I was taking four 60MG Oxycontin a day, and six to seven 10/325 Percocet's a day. My fiance did Suboxone treatment, i went cold turkey. I drove her to treatment, back home, picked her up and drove home everyday for the first 6 days of my withdrawal, that was driving 4 hours everyday while in the worst part of the withdrawal.
It's all about overcoming the situation you put yourself into. And growing the hell up.
@TheArmo1 but not everyone has it in them to get off drugs like u do . i cant stop taking them, i am a recovering alcoholic and have been off alcohol for 8 1/2 years but i had two surgeries after that that left me completely dependant on them and i want to come off of them so bad..its a different type of dependancy all together i know i have been both. so what is so wrong with trying something that has a 65-75% success rate? maybe thats all we have.
What if you are dirt poor and have no insurance?..Suffer and/or hit the street?
The thing is that people in the condition above have only a few choices and it usually ends up being a few bags of dope or scouring the street for some Roxies.
It is a damn shame our government will not fund the treatment of drug addiction for American TAX PAYERS, yet there are untold thousands of illegal Mexicans living on welfare, public housing and food-stamps at the expense of Americans. Shit makes me sick!
@WillBackbone First you when you say 7 people died , what do you mean? With what doctor? In what center? How many people have died in this country the last month of opiate overdose? And by the way , you cannot fix addiction until you fix the opiate dependency.
i was addicted to percocets and oxycotin then i got on the suboxone program and know im hooked on them! does this rapid detox work on this also? im in baltimore md and was wondering whats the closest place that offers this treatment? how much does it cost and how long will i be off work for? thanks
@BLACKLACDTS Sure. We are located in California. Usually for a Suboxone detoxification you are required to spend a week with us and the cost is $21,800. That includes 3 to 4 day inpatient at the hospital, 3 to 4 days inpatient at Domus Retreat ( our after care) , 6 weeks psycological follow up. Your transportation to and from aiport , lodging and food while you are her for the week.
@opiatescom thanks but for that much $ i will rough it for a week or 2. i have done it once before when i went to jail. if i was famous and had $ like that i would go for it.
@BLACKLACDTS I understand. Hopefull in the near future we will have financial alternatives or insurance coverage. For now he medical cost of hospital are immense. Be safe..
@opiatescom 22 Grand? So you are only interested in helping out rich people, is that correct? Doesn't make much sense in only offering this to a small group of people. From a business standpoint atleast. Medicine in our country is so corrupt.
@opiatescom and thats why i cannot quit... i dont have the money to do that... ive look around for a free rehab center, and there is none!!! i think in these kinda situations, the world needs to stop thinking about money, and help a fellow human being get off drugs... thats why i wanna quit so i dont spend money... MY DOCTOR MADE ME A DRUG ADDICT!!!:( IT WAS NEVER MY INTENTIONS!!! if they can get me on em, i think its fair enough they pay for my rehab... and new walls in my house haha
This is not a good form of treatment, it does not deal with the psychological aspects of it. Its awful, this is not good medicine. Now he is addicted to maldroxin.
Tried to do this rapid detox but my insurance (bluecross blue shield) didn't cover it. Only covered cold turkey programs. So I went with long term outpatient suboxone therapy and I'm all good :) I've relapsed 4 times but since my last relapse I've been clean a year and I'm 22 years old so I hope I have matured enough to be wise if I'm ever in a situation where I could relapse again.
@Havixus good job homie i been doing the same shit for bout 4-5 yrs then got on the subs for about two years, now been off all those meds for bout 3 years and im only 26... but shit didnt you have WD's when you came off the subs?? it was hell for about 3 months for me
Actually, No. Opiate addiction can essentially "create" pain that isn't there. This is a very similar mechanism to the physical pain that is associated with depression. In the case of depression it is to much Serotonin in your brain, with Opiates it is the fact that the number or dopamine receptors grows so rapidly that your body are not create enough dopamine to keep your brain functioning normally. He may have some pain but is it is small enough it can be managed by otc drugs! (Dr.)
sounds good but it also sounds like it gets you off one type of drug then on to another they said for maybe the rest of your life, Anyways where do I sign up I'm going through the kick right now...
Hi everybody I really need your help. I'm trying to get off heroing and found a methadone treatment center but I have no money to pay the it costs around 300$. If anybody can donate even a partial amount I will be forever grateful. my paypal acount is michaeltanase God Bless
It doesn't work fro some people b/c some people aren't ready to let go of it. But if someone's ready, it works. Just like any treatment, right? I mean look at rehabs, they have the lowest success with people on painkillers, etc... How could this be worse??!!
Then go to a 12 step program or something like it. I have met NOBODY that stayed clean long term from rapid detox, and I have worked in the field for many years.
MAybe the reason you have met NOBODY is because everyone you meet is at meetings holding each others hand....Believe it or not opiates dependency is a "physical disease" that if does not get treated by the appropriate doctors has emotional consequences. Sitting talking about it DOES NOT reverse the chemical imbalance in the brain. Its simply good medicine...
@yzof2 Sorry that you have not met a lot of people...By the way or are the success rate of the 12 step program for opiate patients? Do you know? I guess you cannot know becasue there are NO published success rates. With the Waismann Method there is a 64 to 74% after one year.
I went through a semi-conscious version of this to get off of methadone. I was sedated on lorazepam for 5 hours of absolute torture. THEN, then put in an 8 week naltrexone implant.
When I left that place, I wanted to die. I had not used heroin in 20 years, but it only took me a few days (I was insane after the treatment) to over-ride the implant, then ended up with a 3 gram a day habit..... If you have to detox, taper or go in a detox. There really are no short cuts.
your best bet at staying clean long-term is 12 step or similar recovery programs, hard work, and dedication. a treatment like this is not a cure-all, i know if i woke up after being rapid detoxed i would be out searching for pills immediately.
@WeDieYoung1083 people as ignorant as you really ruin this country. i was in 8th grade when my dentist gave me 60 vicodin for two fillings me and my poor mom didnt even know what the fuck opiates were. so after that first dose i was hooked felt better than sex to me. so 6 years later im on suboxone and weaning down it allows me to work take care of my family and not lose my F#%@^8 home from blowin my money on ocs. only go to the doc 1 every 3 months so next time do some research ignorant prick
@WeDieYoung1083 you have no idea what you are talking about, Suboxone prevents one from getting high where as methadone doesn't. I was a heroin addict for 5 years and just kicked the habit with suboxone and meetings. i gradualy dosed my self down for over a year and now i have no NEED to do heroin, sure i still get cravings but that is normal. I dont think the cravings will ever go away. so you my friend have no idea what you are talking about.
I doubt this metode will work. There is certain functions in the brains, depressed by opiath abuse which needs weeks or months before they react like before the abuse. Ppl who have been addicted know that. You will have a very hard time recovering mentaly; weeks after a detox you will be nervours, lack selfconfidence and have a hard time feeling joy. All theese things *will* recover, it just cant be done over night.
What do you suggest instead? Vomiting, Diarrhea? Or a slave to the methadone clinic and plan every move you ever make for the rest of your life around your distance to a clinic. It sounds like you subscribe to that very old school of thought that suggest you have to 'suffer to learn your lesson'. This is simply not true in this day of modern medicine. It's an archaic thinking that represents a largely ignorant and sadistic nature and speaks volumes of your disregard for your fellow man.
The way i myself became clean for about 8 years ago (unfortunately i slipped again after 3 years clean time) was a ~1 month methadone reduction, followed by Sulbutex treatment for 2-3 weeks ( i honestly dont remember exactly how long treatment was). That resulted in relatively painless detoxing after a 10 years methadone addiction. The problem really starts after detox when you discover that mentally, you still need months of recovering ( Socializing was extreem hard following months)
But what about his pain management? People living with chronic pain do need to have their pain treated in order to be able to function in their lives. He may not be addicted to opiates anymore but is he still living with pain?
Actually the more pain meds you take , the mopre pain you will have. It is a phenomenon called Hyperalgesia. Opiates are not meant to be used long term.
I see. So the drug they are talking about isn't to help his pain but his addiction? How can he not have pain? Look at how he walks. He looks uncomfortable.
There is a psychedelic drug called ibogaine (outlawed in the us... surprise) which many use to overcome opiate addiction. This is not a manufactured drug, but rather occurs naturally in plants found in Africa. Addicts were actually the ones who discovered its ability to end opiate addiction in 24 hours with no withdrawal symptoms. The drug has also proved effective in treating alcohol and cocaine addiction.
no, its not an opiate and is not addictive. I was prescribed it for a year and stopped cold with no problem at all. This was naltroxone, which shouldnt be confused with Suboxone which contains an opiate and is also addictive. some detox places prescibe it after detoxification-why clean them up then get them dependent again? the doctors ( at Waismann) do not prescribe sub. In fact when they cured me i was alternating between Oxycontin and suboxone. Their precedure treats all opiod dependency
i was dependent on oxycontin and suboxone for several years. I actually went to the waismann method in this video and can sincerely say they saved my life! the treatment was so much better than the withdrawals i had been having.. I can personally vouch for their procedure and will be clean 2 years in July..
Btw, opiate use in those who need it for chronic pain management is relatively safe. It does not cause progressive physical deterioration in the way that alcohol does, for instance. The problem is that the brain adapts to it TOO well- and it is very hard to stay on the same dose and get the same effects for long. There are studies that show that opiate users are healthy and show relatively normal organ function- as long as they stay on the opiates. Of course, that's always the catch...
Opiates affect kidneys, gastro-intestinal, liver function and so much more. Not considering that it ceases endorphin production and patients loose simple life pleasures. The dependency is progressive and harmful to patients physically and psychologically. It affect the patients and their loved ones...
I don't mean to say that opiates are harmless, sorry if that came across that way. My understanding is that someone who stays on the same dose of medical grade opiates long-term will adapt to it and their body will function relatively normally after a while due to the body adapting. But obviously, that doesn't work for pain management- you have to increase the dose progressively. I will see if I can dig up the study I read about this. Sorry to give the wrong impression.
No apologies needed. Is just that we treat so many patients that their doctors prescribe them endless amounts of opiates, without warning them of the side effects to their body and lifes. Most patients we treat would have chosen to live with the pain then have their lifesturned upside down by the long term intake of opiates. I just want people to take it responsibly and educate themselves
I can't imagine what a shock to the system that must be!!! I hope that those who consider it try to get themselves in the best physical shape they can before hand with nutrition and exercise so their bodies have a hope of handling it.
I think that the true future of fast detox lies in ibogaine, it has been nothing short of a miracle for me and I hope that the US will reconsider it's legality in the future. Rapid detox only gets you to the bad part faster- ibogaine completely eliminates it.
That is actually a funny statement. If talk about shock to your system when patients go through 1 to 2 hous withdrawal monitored by doctor and nurses in an ICU. What about patients going through withdrawal for days or weeks? Thats not a shock to the system?
...and they are expected to do the majority of the housework, although I DO have a housekeeper for 5-6 hours a week. OK...WITHOUT this drug I would most likely be on disability and welfare and foodstamps. Oh, and Medicaid too. My health conditions require over $400 worth of prescriptions a month. Luckily I have health insurance, and it covers part of my prescription costs. WITHOUT the oxycodone my life would be nearly worthless. I thank God each day for a wonderful doctor. (AND family!!)
...as though they MUST 'get off'' the ONLY thing that helps them live a productive life? I have few 'side effects' from the drug, and I control those with proper nutrition and adequate fluid intake. I have had my reflexes checked periodically, and they are 100%. I can drive, I can work (as a chef, a physically demanding job to say the least) and take care of my family, although they ARE required to 'pitch in', and help with housework, etc. In fact, I have 3 kids, aged 13, 15 and 17...
There is more to it then that...Every time you take more you create more opioid receptors (storage areas) in your brain that requires more and more..What are you going to do 5 years from now when your daily dose is so high that you end up with kidney, liver and other problems? Opiates are not supposed to be long term..
Actually, I trust my doctor's judgement. I have complete medical workups each year. Each and every body function is tested. All of my tests are completely within normal ranges, INCLUDING, (but not limited to), liver and kidney functions. If any of these things should change, then we will figure out a way of dealing with it. I have read everything I could find that's been published about long-term opiate use, and there seems to be little difference in life-expectancy. BTW..MANY with untreated ...
...untreated intractable pain commit suicide each year. Until I finally got a dx and treatment plan I had seriously thought about it myself. No, I am NOT a 'wimp'. I have a very strong tolerance for pain, and a very strong work-ethic on top of that. My job causes a bit more pain, BUT it's what I love, and what helps keep me sane. I constantly strive for balance. Yes, things change, day to day, year to year. I re-evaluate as necessary, and listen to my doctor. I have HOPE now, at least.
The problem, as I see it, is that there is a choice between being 'addicted' or being in severe pain continually. At least, that is MY only choice. I am NOT a 'recreational' user, and I take them as prescribed by my doctor. It is true, however, that they do become less effective as time goes by, requiring higher doses to achieve the same affect. I have been taking oxycodone now for about 5 years, after Vicodan stopped being effective. I now take about 90 MGs daily, depending on pain levels.
There are days I only need 2 or 3 (15 MG) tabs, and other days I need the entire prescribed amount. I am able to 'jump start' the effectiveness of the meds by taking only one tab per day for several days. That's just enough to prevent the worst of the withdrawal symptoms, and I try to stick it out for a minimum of 3 days. (My pain level skyrockets during this period of course, but afterwards I get more relief from pain...for a while) So...WHY would anyone with severe chronic pain feel as tho...
Rapid detox is far from a magic bullet for treating addiction. Methadone addicts can expect to be sick for 2 weeks following rapid detox. I had a friend who went through this procedure and he said he had never been so sick in his life and he was only using 30mg of methadone a day for pain. His advice; don't do it!
That is really not an accurate statement. Every patient is different and have different reasons for using numbing devices. It could emotional or physical pain, regardless of the reason, they need to feel well physically in order to asses and treat the cause. There is "no reason" for unnecessary suffering or labeling , like rehab center have used for the last 40 years. This only keeps patients from looking for help...
I would think if your sedated or under anesthesia that it wouldn't be that bad. You're not awake! This seems amazing, though... wow, medicine has come a long way. I happy people don't have to suffer anymore.
I've been shot up with narcan fully awake. I was taking up to 700 mg propoxy and 300+mg oxy a day. OMFG. I actually thought for a few minutes that I was dead and going to hell. This hurts. Awake or sedated. Stick to the cold turkey or slow taper.
It absolutely works. Like any medical treatment , it is as good and successful as the doctor that performs it. I have seen a lot of people doin the waismann and being happy and clean...
It costs about 5 grand and it doesn't work. They give you narcan put a diaper on you and knock you out. You are still sick when you wake up. This technique was dreamed by by docs who thought they could trick the body but the body knows better. There are no drug solutions to drug addiction . You just have to have faith and a good attitude! Trust in God and do the footwork
glad that worked for you nathan, but everyone's different. That to me would just make me want to do them again. How many achohilocs can just quit, what about smokers? Yes it does happen, in very rare cases, and most of them relapse, so why not do it right the 1st time? I'm a recovering opoid addict, and so is my wife. we have 3 kids, and there's no way your system would work for us, but I am glad it worked for you. People here on youtube think their way of kicking the habbit is the RIGHT way.
I guess you could say that yes. This may work for some people myself I had to learn the hard way. Every time I think about taking another pill I remember the W/D's.
I am no "junkie" and nor am I "predisposed to addiction". BUT painkillers can do this to ANYONE.Even you if you take them long enough EVEN at the correct, prescribed dosgages.
I rely on an electrical implant to ontrol my pain BUT at times the pain becomes so unbearable and ambulance is called.Off to hospital I go and they have no choice but to give me Morphine and usually admit me.
Almost NEVER happens thank God as a week on that crap is enough to send me into withdrawls at home.
This can happen to anyone mna, including yourself, anyone, get in a car accident and get morphine for one week and you will understand very quickly. I can't believe you wrote this.

18 vicodin a day? That would be about 6-9 grams of tylenol, which can be toxic at 3 grams. He is lucky to be alive if that is true.

Jsmooth7444 1 year ago 2
First there is NO induced coma and is NOT 24hrs. This is a procedure done in a couple of hours while blood pressure, heart rate and vitals are controlled. Patients have a full pre exmaination and they are inpatient usually for 7 days to ensure not just comfort but safety. It is not as simple as you may think. These are experienced and trained doctors working in a hospital.

It's extremely hard but has saved thousands of lives.
jillsilver007 1 year ago
@necroxeon I had this treatment and it works! Yes you still feel the withdrawals when you wake up but my belief is easy come easy go. You have to go through pain to appreciate being clean. My detox lasted 4 days after leaving the detox centre but now with that feeling tattooed in my mind it is another reason why i will never use that shit again. Rapid detox works and it makes it much easier than going cold turkey. I would prefer to detox from heroin 5 times than methadone once.

After 5 years of takin em everyday. And u know what. " it ain't always pretty, but it's real" and sometimes it is pretty. U just gotta deal with the ups and downs. No other way.
sepultura7771 1 year ago

But no way in hell I can pay that much.
smokay310 1 year ago
As a pharmacist I can tell you, this "rapid detox" is bullshit. The success rate is bullshit as it the rehab bullshit. The only way you get better is dealing with the withdrawal and coming to terms with yourself mentally. I am a pharmacist and I USED to be a Hydrocodone addict.
TheArmo1 1 year ago
@TheArmo1 Yep. Today is my 31st day clean. Completely cold turkey. I was taking four 60MG Oxycontin a day, and six to seven 10/325 Percocet's a day. My fiance did Suboxone treatment, i went cold turkey. I drove her to treatment, back home, picked her up and drove home everyday for the first 6 days of my withdrawal, that was driving 4 hours everyday while in the worst part of the withdrawal.
It's all about overcoming the situation you put yourself into. And growing the hell up.
mattman4020 1 year ago
@TheArmo1 but not everyone has it in them to get off drugs like u do . i cant stop taking them, i am a recovering alcoholic and have been off alcohol for 8 1/2 years but i had two surgeries after that that left me completely dependant on them and i want to come off of them so bad..its a different type of dependancy all together i know i have been both. so what is so wrong with trying something that has a 65-75% success rate? maybe thats all we have.

@BLACKLACDTS Sure. We are located in California. Usually for a Suboxone detoxification you are required to spend a week with us and the cost is $21,800. blayze101 1 year ago
(Dr.)

MAybe the reason you have met NOBODY is because everyone you meet is at meetings holding each others hand....Believe it or not opiates dependency is a "physical disease" that if does not get treated by the appropriate doctors has emotional consequences. opiatescom 1 year ago
There really are no short cuts.
yzof2 2 years ago
your best bet at staying clean long-term is 12 step or similar recovery programs, hard work, and dedication. a treatment like this is not a cure-all, i know if i woke up after being rapid detoxed i would be out searching for pills immediately.

@WeDieYoung1083 you have no idea what you are talking about, Suboxone prevents one from getting high where as methadone doesn't. I dont think the cravings will ever go away. so you my friend have no idea what you are talking about.
dizzy87 1 year ago
@WeDieYoung1083 They don't tell you that after taking Subutex for years you will have to go through withdrawl to get off of it too. It's horrible.
jillsilver007 1 year ago
I doubt this metode will work. There is certain functions in the brains, depressed by opiath abuse which needs weeks or months before they react like before the abuse. Ppl who have been addicted know that. You will have a very hard time recovering mentaly; weeks after a detox you will be nervours, lack selfconfidence and have a hard time feeling joy. All theese things *will* recover, it just cant be done over night.
Zhqrxt 2 years ago
What do you suggest instead? Vomiting, Diarrhea? Or a slave to the methadone clinic and plan every move you ever make for the rest of your life around your distance to a clinic. It sounds like you subscribe to that very old school of thought that suggest you have to 'suffer to learn your lesson'. This is simply not true in this day of modern medicine. It's an archaic thinking that represents a largely ignorant and sadistic nature and speaks volumes of your disregard for your fellow man.
bresheehan 2 years ago 21

SPORESgirl 2 years ago
Actually the more pain meds you take , the mopre pain you will have. It is a phenomenon called Hyperalgesia. Opiates are not meant to be used long term.
opiatescom 2 years ago
I see. So the drug they are talking about isn't to help his pain but his addiction? How can he not have pain? Look at how he walks. He looks uncomfortable.
anjwicks 2 years ago
There is a psychedelic drug called ibogaine (outlawed in the us... surprise) which many use to overcome opiate addiction. This is not a manufactured drug, but rather occurs naturally in plants found in Africa. Addicts were actually the ones who discovered its ability to end opiate addiction in 24 hours with no withdrawal symptoms. The drug has also proved effective in treating alcohol and cocaine addiction.
jlw5015 2 years ago
no, its not an opiate and is not addictive. Their precedure treats all opiod dependency
mortysmate 2 years ago
oxycontin and suboxone will react with each other and cause withdrawl.

I actually went to the waismann method in this video and can sincerely say they saved my life! the treatment was so much better than the withdrawals i had been having.. mortysmate 2 years ago
Of course, that's always the catch...
envisionary333 2 years ago
Opiates affect kidneys, gastro-intestinal, liver function and so much more. Not considering that it ceases endorphin production and patients loose simple life pleasures. The dependency is progressive and harmful to patients physically and psychologically. It affect the patients and their loved ones...
opiatescom 2 years ago
I don't mean to say that opiates are harmless, sorry if that came across that way. My understanding is that someone who stays on the same dose of medical grade opiates long-term will adapt to it and their body will function relatively normally after a while due to the body adapting. But obviously, that doesn't work for pain management- you have to increase the dose progressively. I will see if I can dig up the study I read about this. Sorry to give the wrong impression.
envisionary333 2 years ago
No apologies needed. Is just that we treat so many patients that their doctors prescribe them endless amounts of opiates, without warning them of the side effects to their body and lifes. Most patients we treat would have chosen to live with the pain then have their lifesturned upside down by the long term intake of opiates. I just want people to take it responsibly and educate themselves
opiatescom 2 years ago
we have a 5 day naltrexone detox, 2 hours sounds hard to believe, even after naltrexone and 5 days u still feel ill.
tpvalley 2 years ago
I can't imagine what a shock to the system that must be!!! I hope that those who consider it try to get themselves in the best physical shape they can before hand with nutrition and exercise so their bodies have a hope of handling it.
I think that the true future of fast detox lies in ibogaine, it has been nothing short of a miracle for me and I hope that the US will reconsider it's legality in the future. Rapid detox only gets you to the bad part faster- ibogaine completely eliminates it.
envisionary333 2 years ago

2hotinaz 2 years ago
There is more to it then that...Every time you take more you create more opioid receptors (storage areas) in your brain that requires more and more..What are you going to do 5 years from now when your daily dose is so high that you end up with kidney, liver and other problems? Opiates are not supposed to be long term..
opiatescom 2 years ago
Actually, I trust my doctor's judgement. I have complete medical workups each year. Each and every body function is tested. All of my tests are completely within normal ranges, INCLUDING, (but not limited to), liver and kidney functions. If any of these things should change, then we will figure out a way of dealing with it. I have read everything I could find that's been published about long-term opiate use, and there seems to be little difference in life-expectancy. BTW..MANY with untreated ...
2hotinaz 2 years ago
...untreated intractable pain commit suicide each year.
2hotinaz 2 years ago
The problem, as I see it, is that there is a choice between being 'addicted' or being in severe pain continually. At least, that is MY only choice. I am NOT a 'recreational' user, and I take them as prescribed by my doctor. It is true, however, that they do become less effective as time goes by, requiring higher doses to achieve the same affect. I have been taking oxycodone now for about 5 years, after Vicodan stopped being effective. I now take about 90 MGs daily, depending on pain levels.
2hotinaz 2 years ago
There are days I only need 2 or 3 (15 MG) tabs, and other days I need the entire prescribed amount. I am able to 'jump start' the effectiveness of the meds by taking only one tab per day for several days. That's just enough to prevent the worst of the withdrawal symptoms, and I try to stick it out for a minimum of 3 days. (My pain level skyrockets during this period of course, but afterwards I get more relief from pain...for a while) So...WHY would anyone with severe chronic pain feel as tho...
2hotinaz 2 years ago
