that forms just gona work your traps like this, small amount of rear delt involvement but the range of motion is far too great to isolate the delt and have mximum muscle activation.
@xxRandomnameguyxx You can do both, I think elbow bend is valuable to begin with so you are aware of your shoulder rotation. You can even bend up to 90, call it a row if you like, doesn't matter.
I been doing mine one arm at a time with 45lbs of weight for 12 reps 3 sets...I can do it but who knows...and my form is correct. I guess as long as I can do it and its not a bother, then do it.
Tip: To target the rear or poterior delts, you need to open the palms to the feet (medial rotation at the shoulder joint). This will rotate the rear delt high on the shoulders and allow it to take a load of the traps.

Rear delts are like traps and shoulder raises, they really don't require a lot of weight. I do mine with 15 or 20 lbs. Save the heavy stuff for the shoulder presses.
it is for the upper back too it is not just the back of the shoulders, reverse butterflies train your middle trapezius part as well as rhomboids so whoever gave you the negative remark has no idea
Of course I can't fucking do it right my gut is too fucking big which makes correct form almost impossible. Yes, I'm losing weight too I'm not just lifting weights.
Yah, nice form with ounces of weight. Try some real weight and try to keep excellent form. Why is it that all the biggest BB's aside from tons of pharmaceuticals perform most exercises with a looser style and more weight. Very strict form is only necessary on squats, deads, military presses, etc.
WRong.. REar delts are sensitive, and they are a supporter muscle, not meant to be pushign heavy weight... This can also help rotator cuffs, being that they are slow twitch muscle fibers,.. IF u have loose form on doing these exercises u'll get a loose labarum,or bad rotator cuffs.. MOst huge body builders that aren't on juice do these type of workouts for conditioning..
@imadebobie Who says rear delts are not "meant" to push heavy weight? They look like they have just as much room to grow as front delts and people make them huge.
Plus your shoulder joint is something you will never want to injure period. And your rear delts are a very small muscle group. This is not as easy as it looks pal
Your rear delts are one of the smallest muscles that you work, plus you also put a lot of strain on your rotator cuff. So have fun doing bullshit reverse flys w/ heavy weight, I hope you don't play a sport asshole.
muck1e says strick form is only necessary on some excersise. on every excersise your meant to use a slow and controlled motion. jerking and swinging is never acceptable
protection first guys......

something i dont get about rear deltoid exercises: bend elbows or dont bend elbows?
this guy doesnt bend em much, but alot of guys have like a 90 degree bend.
xxRandomnameguyxx 6 months ago
@xxRandomnameguyxx it doesnt really matter as long you dont flex them while doing it but ull get a higher difficulty by keeping them straight ;)
