gomez is a great talent and hit for the cycle the other night... but martinez is only 19 and has major star potential that hopefully will pay off... although it would be nice to have gomez playing in left, johan santana was every bit worth it

i trutfully think the mets are gonna regret this trade down the road because:....one johan is 30 by opening day, his prime is starting to seem to end in 2-4 years.(mets will have him for at least 5 years maybe 7.his velocity is starting to decline,and his ERA was above 5 near last few starts of season his record wasent great i can understand that with his team but he gave up a load of hrs.and the mets prospects (mainly f-mart and guerra) have great upside.i can deal with others.

Im not sure if hes declining he might have just been playing without passion cuz by the end of last year he already knew he was going to get traded. THat could be a reason, no in a bad way he"ll be 29 by opening day

the mets need a frontline pitcher. it's either going to be santana or blanton. to get blanton, they will have to give up gomez, mulvey, and heilman. blanton is about a 5 on a scale of 1-10. johan santana is a 9 or 10. they WILL trade f-mart, gomez, mulvey and pelfrey/humber for johan. they'd be dumb not too.
