  • This is what multiculturalism does to a proud country....

  • In days of yore, from Britain's shore,

    Wolfe, the dauntless hero, came

    And planted firm Britannia's flag

    On Canada's fair domain.

Here may it wave, our boast our pride

    And, joined in love together,

    The thistle, shamrock, rose entwine

    The Maple Leaf forever!

  • they butchered The most patriotic Canadian war song!!!!! Bring back the old Maple leaf forever! I am now going to listen to the bagpipe version to get that shit out of my ears!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what the hell is this

  • It is an insult the way they keep trying to make new words for the Maple Leaf Forever. Lets put and end to it..if you are present and they try this stand up and shout and sing "God save out Queen and heaven bless the Maple Leaf forever" and if you are not present and hear of such BS, write/call/email in and complain at the top of your voice!!!!

During World War II the Royal Canadian Navy was the third largest in the world after the USN and the RN. However, most of their ships were North Atlantic convoy escort destroyers and corvettes rather thanb battleships. They had a few cruisers and later a small aircraft carrier. After WWII they had two airctraft carriers, the last of which, HMCS Bonaventure, was decommissioned in about 1970.

  • don't like this version at all

  • I'd don't mean to be a Dick but could someone name a couple of Big well known Canadian Naval ships please? like something like The Hood, The Prince of Whales, or the Royal Oak, or maybe the Missouri, or is it more like PT-109 or something like that? or Something? Thanks!! Sorry for sounding like a smart ass but I've never heard of the Canadians having a Navy except for the British Navy.

  • @joetubealong The Canadians specialized in destroyer and corvette warfare. They escorted convoys and hunted U-boats -- the most vital of duties in the Battle of the Atlantic. Canadian destroyers such as HMCS Sioux also shelled shore targets on D-Day.

  • BOOOOOO THIS VERSION SUCKS.... EVEN CADETS USE THE OLD VERSION

  • ok where is heart of oak?

  • Well, that version of the Maple Leaf Forever is stupid. Who came up with that? Where is the correct version? Why must we change things for the worse, I don't understand. But, Pack up your troubles, and It's a long way to Tipperary was good.

  • Bring Back The Royal!

    GSTQ

  • @SplinterCelll38 Yes, as an east coast Bluenoser, I couldn't agree more. Bring Back the Royal!

Paul Hellyer be damned. Forget the Maritime Command nonsense of a nondescript Canadian Armed Forces. Long live the Royal Canadian Navy!!

  • The band is the Vancouver Naval Veterans Band, whose founding members served with the RCN or Canadian Merchant Marine in the Battle of the Atlantic in 1945. Four of those vets were with the band in this Tatto performance. All are in their 80s. The singer is Stephanie Greaves, associated with the Naden Band of Victoria. The solo drummer is Jack Lee, who served as Producer of the Tattoo.

  • It was a magnificent tattoo! Sadly, even the Navy, when celebrating 100 years of service, must bow to revisionist Quebec.

  • I thought that was excellent...

  • So gay how they used the new version, its so terrible.

  • @Mackey164 grow up asshole

  • I think they really should have used the traditional version of the Maple Leaf Forever

  • @tsaul91 french would never stop complaining if we did

  • i love u and i love this country called CANADA!
