  • I was watching this video and read the comments and wow. First of all i do ballet and did do cheerleading. I understand how a back injury is and everyone lay off. I have had 3 back surgeries and im only 17 they were from a cheerleading accident when i got dropped from a stunt but anyways i know how hard it is to do ballet. I struggle a lot with doing certain movements . So everyone saying negative comments FUCK OFF a back injury is a very serious thing and it is hard to do ballet. Nice video.

  • hey i really respect your determination!! i hope you really go well with your career in ballet. also, i know this video was posted like ages ago, and you have probably already fixed what im about to say, but you should try lifting out of your body more, it will decrease the weight you have on your feet. :) xox

  • you have BEAUTIFUL feet!!! And really good job for being thrown off a horse....don't listen to anyone who tells yu that was terrible, cause' it wasn't. You are beautiful! Good Job!!!!

  • You did exellent for someone with an awful injury like that! I broke my tailbone as well recently, but I was forced to stay off pointe for a month... probably not the greatest idea to go on pointe during an injury... esspecially with no teachers on your side... Hopefully you were careful though.

  • I broke my tail bone as well, but I was forced to stay off pointe of a month... hopefully you were careful!

  • who are you to tell me what i should and shouldnt do. That video is 3 years old dumbass pay attention. yeah well a true dancer someone who absolutly loves it with all their heart dances even when they are injured so fuck off

  • you should not be on pointe. simple as that.

everyone that says your technique is not strong enough are probably correct, and you dont have very much sense to dance much less put on pointe shoes after an injury such as the one you described.

  • I know exactly how you feel, i have been competing in Hunter/Jumper forever and i have been dancing en pointe for 4 years. You are doing great and riding/dance injuries can be awful (i fully understand). ignore negative comments and people who are writing them keep them to yourself!!

  • Your right foot looks like it's falling out of the shoe! That's probably because they might be close to dead.

  • I understand what it's like to dance with/after a serious injury. Shortly after I first got into pointe, I discovered I had tendonitis in my lefft leg. Just to plie well enough was a struggle for a long time, and pointe classes got more and more painful and tiring every week. Thumbs up to you. Just keep on pushing through.

  • ya just like no turnout and u cant get up o pointe fast enough to do a pirouette.

  • its okay... ehm.. dont do the things so fast, then ur balance will get better and u will have more time to think about the things u do ;) remember to turn out your feet...

  • you are a really great dancer. keep up the work! ignore the negative comments

  • Good job. =)

I think that some people commenting should try going en pointe after being injured like you were. And it was your back - making it even worse.

You'll be great again in no time if you love it - which I can tell you do.

    =)

  • @xoangie03 what about the american schools?

  • and technique, but this is really good :) well done

  • Wow well done for recovering from your injury so well, as i always say, as a dancer you need to know the best way to cure an injusry is to dance it off :P you are really good and ignore what horrible things peopel have been saying in their comments, however it might be that these shoes look a little like they are reachign the end, and i dont know wether its the back, because i know its obviously hard to do with that injury but securing your plies between movements will really help your strength

  • your shoes are broken in well...or u just have rlly good arch!!!

  • You broke your tailbone? Ouch! I horseback ride, figure skate, and hope to be dancing again soon. How does dancing en pointe effect your skating? Other than what dancing normally does for skating posture and things. Does it hurt your skating at all?

  • You broke your tailbone? Ouch! I horseback ride, figure skate, and hope to be dancing again soon. How does dancing en pointe effect your skating? Other than what dancing normally does for skating posture and things. Does it hurt your skating at all?

  • i think your shoes are a little dead...but congrats for bieng ok after getting thrown off a horse!!!

  • Turn out love. make sure you plie all the way. and lift out of your shoes, think of reaching down to the floor and away at the same time. otherwise, good job on trying to bounce back from an injury

  • wow those shoes look like your gonna fall out of the front of them :o

  • Work on your arms...they're everywhere....

  • That's because they weren't supposed to be in the shot. I'm sure they're not actually like that in class.

  • you should actually always dance with good arms, no matter if someone sees them or not. It can turn into bad habits.

  • i think your shoes are kinda dead

  • you should have started out more gentle

  • you need a higher vamp or a harder shank

  • thats so cool!

  • le punte sono quasi rotte.....e tu non giri le ginocchia quando passi in seconda posizione....

  • Good job getting back in to it after injury. I recently have just recovered from breaking my left ankle and 3 toes NASTY. Iv danced pointe for 5 years so it was a bit hard not to dance. Alot of sickleing though you need to strenghthen the legs and ankles stretching exersises are great with an elasticated band it gives a bit of resistance and support. Also you need to slow down a bit dont overdo it at first. Well done though.

  • Also, make sure you put your heels down when you come down off your shoes. Your going to hurt legs in the long run if you don't.

  • youre sinking into the end of your shoes try to think of lifting out of them but otherwise you are great

  • attenta alla rotazione!!!

  • At the beginning you are going waay too fast to get any effect !

  • Comment removed

  • I think you have a lot of potential but without the proper technique you could injure yourself.

And that would be harmful to your future in Figure Skating.

watch our videos for some tips.

    xoxo The Girls

  • DONT SICKLE! D:

that was a LOT of sickle-ing.

  • yeh i think so too - it looks like you need to strengthen your ankles maybe some releves and tendu's should do the trick and just try and train yourself NOT to sickle .

but overall pretty good :D xx

  • i have been dancing for only 1 mmonth i dont think ill be getting my point shoes anytime soon but i am inspired by ur hard work

  • Tes jambes encore ca peu aller mais quand on danse il faut aussi penser a ses bras !!!!

  • I think you've done absolutely brilliantly to recover as you have after such a bad accident! I had a back accident a few years ago and had to stop dancing for 6 years. I also damaged the bottom of my spine. I've now returned to dancing and love it more than ever! Keep up the good work 'lochnessgirl'!

  • Wow, there is alot of real meanness going around. I don't have very good technique either and I was also thrown from a horse 2 years ago. I broke my leg into 5 pieces ad I've worked really hard to recover from it. Isn;t dance suppossed to be about living a dream? I dance because I love it, not neccessarily because I'm the best dancer out there. I don't think anyone really is the best because the best is undecided.

  • dancing is about reaching an audiance and creating an artform, first of all.

i also do ballet because i love it. so do a lot of people. but really, how do they expect to "live the dream" if they are not good enough techniqally to actually become one??? technique gives you the ability to express what you are feeling in a beautiful way.

  • I really do not feel that your comment is deserved. She more than likely had some serious injuries. Pointe work is hard period! If you are a dancer you should make helpful comments. If you are not a dancer, you know nothing, therefore you should say nothing

  • She did not injure herself dancing, she injured herself from being thrown from a horse. I agree that she needs a lot of work, however as more experienced dancers, we should offer constructive criticism. Not everyone has good technique naturally.

I do agree with you as far as her technique, but her feet look new to pointe from what I have seen.

Obviously you are a great dancer- so just remember that this girl wishes she were you.

  • you know what... Ive been dancing since I was 10. I go to the State Ballet of Rhode Island. Yeah I may be dancing poorly in this video but I broke my tail bone in three different places after a horse I was riding got spooked by a rat. This was a week later. It doesnt have anything to do with technique, I couldnt perform well because I was in pain. No respectable dancer say something like that.If im such a "bad" dancer then tell me why I got accepted into The American Ballet Academy???

  • just because someone is injured doesnt mean you suddenly turn into a poor dancer in one week. i can tell from your legs and feet you never had strong techniqual ability.

the american ballet academy? psh. please. try getting into the royal ballet of london, or royal winnipeg of canada. THEN we can talk.

  • Ok one you are really starting to piss me off. Two I have stronger legs and feet than any one else I KNOW! So when you put up a video of you doing pointe after breaking your tailbone in 3 different places then we will talk. I think honestly you're full of bullshit!!! I am probably ten times the dancer you'll ever be because I have the heart and I'm not a stuck up prissy little bitch. Oh and that video was posted like two years ago.

  • i've been dancing for 6 years and have been on pointe for 2 and have learned that dance is more about expressing yourself. but theres no reason to be so rude and so vain! i dont care if you are the greatest dancer on the planet, you need to look past just the beauty of ballet and realize how to express your emotions with dance. also be a little nicer- maybe then you will reach your true potential as a dancer. i can't beleive something as beautiful as dance has come down to winners and losers.

  • of cousre i know that dancing is expressing yourself---its an artform! in order to express yourself fully, be beautiful, have no injuries, and actually be a ballet dancer, you need technique. both are essential to ballet.

there are no such thing as winners and losers in dance. its the people who are sucsessful and the people who have no clue about what dancing is really like.

  • omg, bitch much? just because you may have achieved much in ballet, it doesn't give you the right to go around and put other people down just so you may feel an insignificant bit better about yourself. NEWSFLASH this doesn't improve your self-esteem, it only makes you want to put more people down. she was thrown from a HORSE. she had absolutely no choice in the matter. horses are unpredictable and they have personalities. so i'd suggest you go and get a life rather than try to ruin hers.

  • okay, enough about the horse. I KNOW the injury wasn't her fault. i'm not trying to be a mean and nasty person, im honestly not. im just telling her what i see. what is the truth. in my opinion, that is the most important thing.

  • i understand that you only want to tell her what in your opinion is the truth, but i do believe that you could be a little nicer about it, and not boast about yourself and all of your accomplishments. (and i'm not trying to be a bitch here either :))

  • well calling some one a loser is not really going to help them, and i'm sure she didn't just post a video to show off, maybe she was wanting constructive criticism, something she can actually use.

what i noticed was it is a little sloppy, but i think if she concentrated a little more it would be beautiful

  • Ok I know that we have had a fight before and that this fight was over ages ago, but I must say that I agree with you.

About the whole technique no winners or losers sucess thing.

  • @lochnessgirl You go girl! Seriously, whoever critisizes you must be retarded. You're a fabulous dancer!

  • I AGREE...

  • @xoangie03 I had the same injury not to long ago and let me tell you it takes time to heal! Relax! Are you insulting the American Ballet Academy because it's in America??? Canada and England are half the country America is. Sorry I'm just stating the obvious.

  • @xostarsox19 its not the country, its the schools.

  • @xoangie03 lochnessgirl is right. And actually you can become a poor dancer. If you sit out the muscle memory can go away. I know first hand because I tore all the ligaments on the left side of my left foot, and lost all my turns and jumps. Breaking a bone is just as bad, if not worse.

  • @lochnessgirl Im dancing ballet since I was 3, and I dance on pointe shoes since I was 8 years old.

  • wow after being thrown off a horse you still dance well!

  • You have amazing arches, but make sure that you turn out.

  • i dressed up my horse for halloween and the brat threw me off....then the next day i had ballet class lol needless to say....i was very sore =P

  • i understand when u got thrown off thje horse. i hurt my ankle and could not go on toe for a few weeks

  • What, exactly, is a "semi-professional" figure skater? Somehow I don't think this bit of information is accurate.

  • i horseback ride so i know how it feels to get thrown off..

and i do pointe and ive had to get on pointe the day after the injury,,,

i fell right on the jump that my horse was supposed to go over :)

i have a big scar on my arm from the fall :D

i like it though..the scar is kool!

but it is hard to focus on the pointe when everything is throbbing from the day before!

trust me... :D i still give you kudos *CLAPS*

  • I fell off my horse to and had to have plastic surgury and wasn't able to dance for awhile. It sucks because youcant even see my scar lol

  • terribile?????????

    terrificante......direi.

  • i still need to break in my shoes... haha

  • well i dont think you need to post a video to brag abou how good your feet look after injury even though we both know its not that amazing... if you were really hurt and didnt dance for a really long time then i might have some symathy

  • amazing! Simply amazing!

  • wow itz impressive how u do all those diffrent things nice job and hope u recover well

  • your shoes are dead and thats very dangerous and keep your knees straight, turn out, dont sickle and dont roll over your arches

  • thats actually really good, for recovering from injury.......your pointe shoes look a little too broken in though...maybe some new ones would help to ease the pain from the injury

    P.S. your multi-talented

  • ok who ever said she was great at pointe was wrong! im sorry but theere are just soo many corrections and it wasnt great, she shoes are dead and she wasnt turend out

  • you are great at pointe! i can't believe you were injured and can do all that!

  • you just made our day aka my entire class sitting in front of the computer

    school:

    you don't wanna know

  • try coke

  • just quit

  • qui

  • is this tap dancingahahgahahahahaha

  • you suck

  • wow ur a busy girl!

  • Is This Holly Steel?

  • Just a few tips here. One is from the very beginning of your video, when you were standing in fifth position. It also applies to every other step you will ever do in ballet. Don't take it comfortably, push hard to use all of the turn out that you've got. It comes from the rotators. Pull up on top of your legs and use turn out as a vern rather than a noun. Also don't roll in and use your arms they are there to help you. Pull up your legs, feel like your femers are coming into your hip sockets

  • your shoes are dead! D: dont hurt yourself, get a new pair.

  • k u need 2 do releves a lot more because u need and u r sikilig ur right!2 work up 2 watever u were just doing. and shoes with a higher vamp would help 2! just some tips and pointers!!!!

  • Your shoes are Dead! If you keep dancing in them then you are going to do yourself an even bigger injury!

I'd reccomend keeping off your toes until you are fully recovered, work with soft ballet shoes instead of pointe

  • your right pointe shoe is dead. what type of shoes are they?

  • DON'T INJURE YOURSELF MORE!!!1 your shoes are to dead and you still look weak!!!

  • WOW, i used 2 do ballet and pointe, n i gt thrown off my horse (hu i still have) and i had to give up pointe n stuff, bt gd video, very brave of u!!! keep it up

  • oh my gosh! That's really good for falling off of a horse. I take pointe too and I'm also going to take riding lessons! Great job.

  • i presonally think that your very good. Try not to sickle when doing ashapees or however you spell it. You might also want to think about getting new pointe shoes because they look like they are broken

  • C'est dommage elle n'est pas assez en dehors.

  • you are loud and annoying and =p you suck

    !

  • i know you were just injured and all but u need to have better turnout stretch is all i can say your also moving forward and back and basically moving every which way which means you need to make ure your weight is stacked up perfectly mke sure your not leaning any way just stright up

  • your pointe shoes are a little too flexible. just be careful

  • Your pointe shoes look a little too flexible. YOu might want to get new one. Pretty good thoguh!

  • You are knuckling just a little bit, and your pointe shoes look a little soft in the shank. But good job, especially after being thrown off a horse.

  • I LOVE HORSIES!!!! lol i'm sry u got hurt tho - lookin good on the pointe side of things!

  • you should work on your turnout on your right foot. but good work...especially after an injury

  • congrats to you for coming back after an injury! Im sure youve gotten this a lot, but just be careful! You don't want to get even more injured! Nice feet but your knuckling a tiny bit

  • Thanks guys I tried really hard in this video and it is really nice to see others help me take bad critisim lol Thanks -lochnessgirl

  • I think ur pointe shoes may be a bit soft, your arches in your feet are very good, i have a really bad instep! but especially if youve had an injury maybe you shud try some harder shoes that will support you more, otherwise it could lead to another injury :D

  • Oh and work on your Port de bras. Lol take it from someone who knows how it is to have bad arms. But it is very easy to overcome. =)

  • The reason I say that is because i saw your arms come down in places that they weren't supposed to be. Feet are what allow you to do the movements but arms are what make them so beautiful. ;)

  • It sorta looks like you tend to rest in your shoe and it might be from the injury. But just try not to do that. =) Very well done.

  • Wow, it seems you didn't have any injury.you're gooooooood!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • omg just be careful =/ i wouldnt want to see you hurt more especially b/c you look like youre a strong dancer... props for being a ballerina/gymnast... i am too =]

  • Great.

    Very muscular calves.

Don't strain so much if the injury is tender

  • uh...yea right is there anything you don't do? ...Im also A semi-professional figure skater and I do gymnastics, skateboard, surf, wakeboard, and snowboard...

  • Hey I think you're very good:-) Your arches are great! My friend and I just got our first pair of pointe shoes on Friday,so we have our first pointe class tomorrow night. So,I suck...right now, lol. bUT Im really gonna work at it :-) Great job! Keep it up!

    <3 Michelle

  • What the hell, elli1807.. u need to stop with ur atitude.. i will like to see how perfect u r in point... hey lochnessgirl, u did really good..especially after an injury... Elli1807 is just a fat ass idiot who doesn't what he's talking about.. since he has no life..

  • to elli1807: If you think this video is terrible, then you shouldn't have watched it to begin with. Or, perhaps you'd like to try your luck and attempt to do better? Go ahead, then we can comment on how "terrible" you are.

  • I thought it was good...and you are nowhere near fat, that person is probably just jealous that you can figure skate, do gymnastics, skateboard, surf, wakeboard, AND snowboard, lol. I LOVE horseback riding...are you going to get back to riding? j/w...i love ice skating too...but i'm not too good, lol

  • those r rele dead

  • Pointe work after an injury? Probably not the best idea.... And you have a lovely arch, but your shoes are broken too low. You need new shoes. Other than that, good work!

  • she is not fat!!!! YOU BUTT FACE!!!

  • haha agreed w/ redcarpet. well said!! haha

  • its called muscle u idiot!! thts wat happens wen u do sports!!

  • keep holding your positions, a 5th is a 5th, not between 4th and 5th and indeed work your turn out, you have good arches but that's not the only thing you need to be a good dancer.

  • You have very good arches :) comment on my video please :)

  • I think your right foot really needs some work...

    especially on your turn outs!

    great feet though !:)

  • You need to work your turn out but your feet are goot

  • I think you are going to need new shoes soon because they are slightly dead. Keep practicing

  • work your turn out woman

  • very nice pointe! keep up the good work!

  • Youve posted that on five different videos! Your maybe just some kid that was just told you had a good 5th, and now your telling other people to work on it, grow up

  • Im 12, and now I want to be a ballerina!

Your video (this one so far)

Can help me! thanks for posting your talent!

  • i do ballet and horse riding. they are not a bad combination!! keep it up ! can u have a look at my vidz n comment on dem thnx

  • Turn that righ foot out

  • You have a nice passe and are very good after being in an injury sorry about that by the way nice work

  • turn out

  • Yes your arches are absolutely beautiful, but they did break a bit to low, and you should get all the way onto your box. Your very well controlled for after an injury, love.

  • work harder on your "endehors" and dont "sit" on your toes, thats because your pointe shoes broke to low, with that beatiful arches, your enpointe will look amazing.

  • you are good but your shoess broke to low!!come to athens and learn!!!

  • I think your point shoes are broken, is that possible?

  • no thats not possiable I just brok them in to low

  • you have got beautiful arches!!! just keep making tem stronger!:D

  • I'm impressed you ride horses as well as ballet. I ride and used to do ballet which I would really like to take up again but I have been told by lots of people the two are a bad combination! I can understand this as i do get very saddle sore occasionaly and I can barely walk! but I'm determined to do both since they are both my passion! Btw you still dance very well despite an injury!

  • i go horse riding and do ballet too!!!!

  • I AGREE YOU SHOES ARE TOO LOW

  • the shoes broke to low

  • thats really good for doing it after an injury!

    great arches

  • you got thrown off a horse. thats horrible. my friends got thrown of and hit her head on a rock, was not pretty. you have lovely feet.

  • you have very pretty feet/arches!

  • I'm not sure if u're aware of the fact that horseriding is absolutely not a good combination when taking ballet lessons. you use totally different muscles, so that u will end up with o-shaped legs, and I'm not sure if you want that for your ballet ;p

  • well she has pretty legs to me!!!!!

  • I didn't say that she didn't have pretty legs, all I said is that horse riding and ballet is a bad combination because u use different muscles, and because u use the different muscles u will end up eventually with o-shaped legs, I didn't say she had them already. two friends of mine rode and did ballet and they ended up with o-shaped legs as well, it's just a warning, not a comment on her legs

  • i do modern, ballet and biking, which uses different muscles. but in ballet i get complimeants on my legs all the time. and all the muscles in mmy legs are really developed and strong. i think using different muscles are good.

  • In modern and ballet u use kind of the same muscles. with biking u use all the muscles in ur legs, which is also good for ballet. in ballet u use ur inner leg muscles, in horse riding ur outer leg muscles, so that's completely the opposite. I'm dancing on the balletacademy in Rotterdam, the teachers and everyone else there say it as well, and I think they know what they're talking about

  • okay........good for them i guess. but in modern you can use different muscles. and in biking and hiking you use the front muscle too.......which you arent suppose to use in ballet. and i know what im talking about = )

  • fine, u stick with ur opinion and I stick with mine, that's what makes the world so funny, everyone thinks different about different things, right? ;)

  • okay. sounds good.

  • im sorry besplendidly but i agree with wicca2908. i used to netball and that doesnt mix with tap, jazz, and ballet. it can make ur muscles a different shape and it can be very painful. Xx

  • Pretty good. just take it easy

  • try not to knucle ova good for after an injury ps killerkid53s sis

  • you have a beautifull foot

  • you shouldn't lie, asying u have an injury wen u dnt! lol kidding, your amazing!

  • try to stay on balance lovely arches! get a little bit more on box very nice strong legs, don't scrunch your feet on the echappes your doig great an once again lovely arches!

  • what part of your body got hurt??

  • that was pretty good considerin u just had an injury.what injury did u have?

  • u look great! doesnt look like u had any injuries ^^

    lovely arches!

  • u have very nice arches!!!

  • thats really good especially after an injury! i aplod you! just you need alittle more turn out but its amazing! you are really good! and hey this is the first comment! lol
