he had a choice and he picked peyton at the end... he didnt have to but he did because they were always meant to be together. he wanted to marry her since the 8th grade. and all the other girls just got in the way because lucas was so hurt by peyton. besides there is no reason to hate leyton since brook has julian and there perfect for each other. just try to appreciate good love storys

@yervue90 But the book wasn't about what he thought in the beginning It was about how it ended up. And he ended up with Peyton. It was a love story about the journey with him and PEYTON. (I personally CANNOT STAND Peyton sawyer when it comes to Lucas, but those are the facts)
But it really pisses me off when the writers make Brooke say a line like: 'It sucks always being the fodnote in someone elses lovestory'. IMO Brooke was never a fodnote, Lucas DID LOVE HER! Urgh.. Mark, sometimes I wanna beat the crap out of you!
