Dave's Anti-Monkey Butt. "A big guys best friend!". Classic. give us some more natural anti fungals. its awful humid in southern appalachia in the summer. ( aint no teatrees round here)
great minds think alike dave, ive just made my salve up for thisyear,i was a bit more exotic though using myrhh, cypress, and patchouli, amoungst other things,im hoping for an insect repellent and a wound healer, and to keep them ticks a bay.....grimbo
Do you think it would be good to add things to it like aloe vera? I have a lot of aloe vera plants at my house and that stuff works great on cuts and burns. Tho i just usually cut me off a leaf or too and rub the sap right on the wound.
The Herbal Discipline of PFS Phase 2 is to concentrate on Medicinals from your area, so yes if it grows natually where you live I would go for that. It does not grow wild in Ohio unfortunatley
but it is dirty, when ppl can buy stuff from stores.. oh yea, this is for a situation...dirty stuff! but good that you know a few local indian remedies :)
What is the ointment useful for? You say it can be used for cuts and as an antifungal... is it the garlic that gives it those qualities, or the beeswax? How do we know what to use in our salves/ointments?
We used to always chew beeswax (with honey in it) when I was a kid.... It was a treat. Sometimes I spit out the wax, sometimes not. I'm still living and that was 50 years ago....
it just would not taste very good in the way he prepared it. That way is ment for the skin. Beeswax has been used to make homade capsules. You can soften it up stuff it with some herbs or crushed garlic and swallow.
Thanks Dave, Awsome vids as usual I learn so much. I just made some essential oil of orange and mint to help with head and muscle aches, it works great for me and I did it on the stove worked great better than asprin in my opinion.
as far as I know, yes, it is. BUT essential oils are dangerous when ingested! they are literally the essence of the herb in concentrate form. Be very careful when using essential oils in edible formulations. as for the salve that Mr. C made, the texture that is achieved with the bee's wax would make it unpleasant to eat.
I wasn't thinking of eating it, of course. But if you had to use it to protect a cut on your lip, there would be no need to worry about accidentally ingesting a small amount of it.
very true! you can make a lip balm or, for ladies, a lipstick, using a bit of olive oil, honey, a sprinkle of flavored drink mix and bee's wax. The honey not only makes it sweet, it also is anti-bacterial, anti-septic, and anti-fungal!

is it wrong if i use the water in which the garlic was boiled in as well?
kwstikas82 2 years ago
I used coconut oil instead of beeswax, and it has the same consistency, although if it's hot out, it will tend to liquify.

beeswax isn't poisonous, though i doubt that it would taste very good

awesome, GREAT video. I'm going to have to try this, thanks!

nice, but I thought you could eat beeswax, that's why you can eat a honey comb as is, without removing the honey, kind of like a honey bar.
you need to fix the problem of the lengthy black at the end of your videos.
