Hell yeah the late 70s all of the 80s all of the 90s and beyond, I got everything out of every decade good and bad and more. Life was awesome for those of us who actually remember when people did and said whatever, whereever, drugs were open, music was stylish, toys were cool, rules were still lowered, and everyone didnt tell you how to rraise your children so we did more
Didnt have to be a teenager in 1990 to enjoy all the great music and TV shows. I was 29 when all this started ant it sure made ME happy! I was SOOO glad the 80s were over.Todays music really sucks!
I wasn't ever a teenager, and I am glad that I never heard the phrase "I wish" until I saw it here. I never got my hair cut, just burned off regularly in skirmish zones. The youtu.be buzzies even let a real view of some cool looking guy on a stage through before it got topped off with the basic help digital photo superimposition. I heard a real music track on the radio today, something to go on. When dumpy poser Dimebag in vid smushing guitar gets capitol, "I'm glad I'm glad..." faith no more.
All generations say some like that...In the underground in all forms of art (mainstream is other shit, not really youth subcultures), are amazing things and we find many of these to much later, now is internet, no excuses, sorry my caca english.
yeah 1992 and on was the time for all the great bands to come. back in the day when bands played and none of the computer bullshit. the late 80gave us some kill showmen like metllica yet still around but, slowing down. motley crue is still playing harder then ever. never to forget ozzy also came out of the 80's.... fock on you guys
FNM was hugely influential to me as a teenager, and in listening to bands like Queens of the Stone Age, it apparently was influential to them as well. Patton deserves WAY more credit than he gets. IMHO.
i was born in 91 but i still want 2 go back to d 90's.....i wanna cherish dat moment.....but i would have regretted as there would be no youtube or myspace

this is the most ass kicking performance from the band, if not from anyone. this song is pure class, it shows just how real this band are, and patton's vocals are brutal.
I really wish I was a teenager in the early nineties. hands down, the best decade. Music, Movies, Television...was all in it's prime and at its best. Luckily I had an older cousin who was a teenager that was able to show me this kind of stuff as a young kid. I remember the Black Hole Sun music video would give me nightmares as a kid haha.
Most likely, you wouldn't have even known this song back then. FNM was so underrated and so dominated by GNR and Nirvana that they never truly were recognized in the mainstream. It's great that we have Youtube and downloading to relive greatness like this
@xxMisterJxx Definitely man. I think I was born at the best possible time. Born late 70s, got all the awesome 80s toys (GI Joe, Transformers made of metal with rubber tires, the introduction of space Lego, other cool shit), Musically, I grew up in the late 80s with the rise of Gn'R, and the peak of Metallica, then got AiC, Faith, Tool, Rage, PJ, Nirvana, SG all coming up as new bands. It was a fucking awesome time to be a teenager
@dreamscape03 : yeah, i was into most of those bands you list, saw metallica 3 times, AC/DC, Pearl Jam 3x, Nirvana -- saw Dave Grohl 3 times, once with QOTSA, foo fighters, and nirvana....dave grohl doesn't get enough credit for really solidifying Nirvana's sound on nevermind...gave it that driving force that it lacked on bleach..alright I'm off subject...enough...late eighties/nineties ruled...goodbye... :)
@dreamscape03 ...and name the bands we have in 2011.....absolutely nothing.although it must be said...locust by machine head is some return to form.....oh yeah..pantera.....that's all folks....lol
@xxMisterJxx Be happy to be born when you were. I saw these guys in the late 80s and 90s, and now I am old watchin em on You tube. You will see the next GREAT band, and I will be resting. Cheers to your cousin for takin ya, I had an Older brother take me to see Aerosmith & Rush live at Comiskey Park in Chicago in the summer of 1978. He created Monster!
What hype? There's no hype on the 90's right now ... the average person is looking at the 80's. Wait another couple of years and the 90's hype will begin. You're not very bright are you?
@xxMisterJxx I´m 45 and I lived fully the 90´s alternative atmosphere in Vancouver (Seattle´s twin city) and I feel fortunate everyday for having lived this incredible movement, the fashion, the freedom to make all this amazing music, the MENTALITY, the values, anyway, nothing to do with anything going on now.

On the Mike Patton topic why do people use the word GENIUS in the same sentence he isn't doing anything different in the art of recording then any other artist and honestly I like a wide range of artists and Mike Patton is not one!! @matty160 You've missed A LOT of good music in 24 years. Come on, get with the times! These guys are timeless. This song is as good now as it was in '91.
I was there hahah ... I was 11 years old and the people were escaping of the place ... the majority of the people went to see Latin artists, I was impressed with the band, lamentably my parents also escaped hahah but I come home that night to see the end of the presentation for live television, from there it began my fanaticism for FNM
michael allen rulez!!!! the man has more vocal range than any other performer i know!!! and i been around since '72. i know he was married once, did he ever remarrie???
hey travboy7575 i couldn't agree more, when you have two great sounds in tool and fnm you just have to appreciate both for all the great things they bring to the table, it's all the shitty music out on the radio today that we should compare both of these bands to
mike was sooo different back then...his voice..looks.. everything..i think hes aged well..hes tunred into a real sex symbol..and i prefer his more mature voice now!
At this stage of FNM he'd already made his bones with Bungle. Mike oozes with vocal talent. Although it's rumoured his interpersonal skills are somewhat lacking
At this stage of FNM he'd already made his bones with Bungle. Mike oozes with vocal talent. Although it's rumoured his interpersonal skills are somewhat autistic
@xVxRayJohnathaNxVx I don't know. It sounded different. I think the backing vocals make it great on the album... But no studio recording can beat Mike's live performance.
Mike Patton should play the Joker
xxMisterJxx 2 hours ago
I saw them play in NYC this same tour....lot more talent in this band than appears at surface, that's why they become timeless....

At this stage of FNM he'd already made his bones with Bungle. Mike oozes with vocal talent. Although it's rumoured his interpersonal skills are somewhat lacking
