As a recent Iphone 4 user, how do you connect to a mixer if you are using the mic output to blow into? Besides the charger hookup at the bottom I know of no other way?
@BWRHC You use the headphone output to connect to your mixer, and blow into the physical mic on the bottom of the phone, next to the dock connector - you don't use the mic on the earbuds.
Fantastic demo Jordan...... amazing software.... can't believe you actually blow into the mic ! .... thought you were just simulating to help your phrasing lol.
I have a cable that plugs into the headphone jack of the iphone, and it has rca's on the other end. computer speakers have rca's, but the combo doesnt work
Are they powered speakers? If they are, it should work, unless there's a problem with the cable. If they aren't, it may be that the output of the iPhone isn't enough to drive the speakers.
wallanderinstruments. ad a dot -com and it brings u to this instrument. Btw the sound doesnt come out from the iphone. its just used as a sleek controller.
the sounds come out of his computer running sample libraries. u can also play it with any random microphone and keyboard.
Not true - you're thinking of the Wallander WIVI instruments, which run as plugins or standalone apps on the computer, and cost hundreds of dollars. Wivi Band, which Jordan is playing here, runs natively on the iPhone, and costs $4.95. All the wind and brass sounds you hear in this clip are produced by and are coming from the iPhone.
I bought this app yesterday, and at last a real dynamic wind instrument which I can use in my recording studio, what an amazing app, well played Jordon.
that's freaking sweet! why don't i have an iphone yet?! jordan, i'm a big fan of all your work and it was cool to see you playing a little quartet piece at the end.
UM... WOW. lol thats it... This dude made that last part sound like a real session. He's amazing.

This thing is quite remarkable. It has some similarities to the way a wind controller handles octaves, but this looks and sounds better.
Lovely woodwind quartet writing at the end; that could be a very nice piece for performance by the regular instrumentation. You should publish it.

that's freaking sweet! why don't i have an iphone yet?! jordan, i'm a big fan of all your work and it was cool to see you playing a little quartet piece at the end.

First, great expressive playing Jordan. My questions are:
1. Is this MIDI? Are you able to play this as a MIDI controller in a DAW like Logic or Pro Tools?
2. How did you get your signal into your mixer....Bluetooth? Or is this Wireless MIDI?
3. Any condensation issues or other problems blowing into the mic on the iPhone? Thank you for your time, can´t wait to get this!!!
jazzman1222 2 years ago
1. No MIDI, just audio.
2. Look closely, and you'll see a stereo cable coming out of the headphone jack on the bottom.
3. Not so far, but it could be an issue. That's why sucking on the mic (which works very well), rather than blowing into it, might be a better idea.
4. No jokes about sucking and blowing allowed.
