this is absolutely AMAZING! I remember seeing this when I was a little kid and I instantly fell in love with with this song and "that girl" (I had no idea who she was.) they aired sesame street twice a day on pbs and I waited to see her again in the afternoon. I saw it twice that day and never saw it again but I never forgot. Now, over 20 years later I finally found it and it's almost EXACTLY how I remembered it. and i never fell out of love with the song or "that girl."
Frankly, I was also aware that Crystal and Big Bird performed this on the album Sesame Country. But, I never knew it was performed on the show. It's a real treat to see a visual demonstration of this fantastic version of this fantastic song =)
Is she really that little??!!!

BTW this not Crystal Gale, but Crystal Gayle with an Y, would you please correct the title ?
crystalgayleaddict 2 years ago
seems she wears the pull-over of the "true love" album cover.
This album got out in 1982, which would tend to rpove this video is from 1982.

I bet 82 or 83,
crystalgayleaddict 2 years ago
Yeah it must be from late 1982, because in November of 1982 is when Big Bird's head got the new perfectly round design.

She has really long hair down to her legs.

Knee length... which date the video to around 1982 !

Gotcha both.

I first heard "Songs" in "Elmopalooza" and then in the most recent Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I didn't realize it was this old.
When it comes to Crystal Gale, nothing tops "Don't it Make My Brown Eyes Blue", but she sounds as lovely as ever here.

I'm with you on the first part.

Which first part?
Garrettk41 2 years ago
The one about first hearing Songs in Elmopalooza and the most recent Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. I also didn't know it was this old.
antsamthompson9 2 years ago
He meant he also first heard "Songs" on Elmopalooza as well as the most recent version in the Macy's Parade.
Uh... me three, I guess =/
