They also had a ride in the white Dome by the cyclone-- what a spinning ride - then they moved it after someone got hurt - Then it became a movie theatre - large projector.
Alpine sleigh ride --- Someone used to dress in an snow monster and scare people.
In a city of over 4 million and no amusement park to replace it??????????
@razorvard My sister, when she was a little girl, was once Frightened by the Yeti in the Alpine Cave. The actor in the suit use to sneak up on those in the last few cars, and often touched the back of their shoulders. My sister and I were fans of the three stooges(a fact my Kindergarden teachers hated), and when she was scared by the man..she Poked him in the Eyes ala. the Stooges Move with her two fingers...
@Dremple The man went off SCREAMING holding his eyes back to a door in the cave...it was the last week the Yeti was alowed to have Physical contact/ or get within 5 feet of Patrons of the ride...Way to go SIs(Martha Darsey)..lol TRUE STORY
i hate watching this and seeing my roller coasters all in peices laying in storage, or so far away i cant use them, i miss astroworld i went for my 15th birthday the day of closing had a blast i had been going every year that i was tall enough to
Now I have to drive to San Ant? Im not doing that shit why cant it be in my own hometown. This is garbage so is Houston its nothing more than a money making dump.

I miss that theme park.. I remember it was the first theme park one of my elementary field trip was held at :,(... I have passed by the land it was on and its just an extremely sad feeling.
This video is sad as hell. A good part of my childhood was spent at this park and now it is gone. It was a really happy and fun place to go as a child. I feel bad for the kids growing up in Houston today.
Thanks for posting this I am now a HS Senior and remember going here when I was younger fun little flash back. :)
