WARNING: IF THIS IS TRYED OF A KORG OASYS 76: You will have to unscrew the keyboard keys section off becuase in the video here, is a weighted key section, the 76 is different!! any more questions, ask me please.
hehehe necessário... sem chance q eu ia mandar a criança pra assistencia! apesar de ter feito essa gambiarra, ainda desafina de leve.. é um saco! estou esperando o pitch chegar do Japão (6 meses de espera já hahaha)
WHOAAAA, thaaaanks a lot, I had a triton extreme 76 and it happened almost the same, The joystick only works in the Y position and it doesn't for X positions.... I'll try to do it my self I think, THANKS A LOT ;)
thanks for the info. I just bought a used Korg Triton Le 88.. the pitch stick is feeling weak when I do bends up..its just like other musicians complain about.
I was wondering if taking the triton with weighted keys is any different than your board?
thanks for inspiring me to fix this nagging problem.:)
this is EXACTLY what happened to my Triton extreme. its the same mechanism and all, its jute the housing on it thats rubbish if ur too hard with it.
You fixed yours more professionally than i did though, i superglued the plastic back together (and my fingers like you did lol), then wrapped PTFE wire tape round it for reinforcement.
Reassemble it and replace the 52 screws i removed (52!!!! with a swiss army knife, not a cross-point!) and jobs a gooden!
I´m glad to hear that you managed to fix your Triton! Thanks for sharing your experience! Maybe some day Korg will learn to use decent material on the joysticks...
i wanted to repair my triton le the same way, but my plastic was broken, so i take superglue , also an iron ring, it works for 20min than the plastik broke again, so i need a new pitchbender....korg has shit hardware!
I never use the joystick itself to move the Y-axis.. I once noticed a Korg rep handling it at the base, holding it between his thumb and index finger.
Dude! I just put my Karma back together and now the joystick works! Thanks to your video and a few other forums. I didn't notice any problem with the plastic part, but it looked as if the spring had flattened itself out or somehow gotten weak. So I flipped it around and now it works! I have heard stories of people having to fix this several times, but oh well, I don't use the X axis much anyway. I bought the Karma used and it was like that when I got it. THANKS AGAIN!!!
A great videos for anyone having some stuff to fix on this beast. You made me confident in opening it to fix some keys on mine. I don't thank the bad shipping company responsible for that. but i really thank you !!
thanks again mate, I was really insecure before disassembling such an expensive gear.. but at the end, it felt just like an ordinary computer, no big secrets, just a lot of patience :)
shame on korg for 3 months warranty, says it all about how trusted they are in their products!!
For those dreaming about owning the oasys and cannot afford the stupid high price and have a pretty basic pc do yourself a favour and have a look at the new creamware x-cite ;)
I can't say much because........ well..... I'm a drummer (currently I'm strating to take piano lessons) but whatever I really enjoy your vids. Also what are the names of the songs you put in the vid? I know that one is You Can't Touch This by MC Hammer but I don't know the name of the other one it is amazings, well hope you can tell me. Greetings from México.
Hey my friend, good luck on your new journey too! The background song is Duende from Bozzio Levin Stevens .. and the song I play at the end is Jewel from Jason Becker/Marty Friedman! best regards
Hi Linn! man, sorry to hear about that.. at least we´re not alone! about the ring, I don´t know where you can find one (I used one I found in my house) but I´m not using it anymore, I changed it to a metal plate custom made to fit the whole curve
É meu irmão...vc é o cara...aconteceu a mesma coisa comigo, só foi um Roland XP50...chorei até umas horas....se tivesse visto esse video...concerteza teria metido a cara........
i have the same problem with my Alesis QS 6.1...but actually the problem is with spring...((i can't find one to replace and handmade ones are not very long live)))
I dont think i can....first of all I am from Ukraine and in is not dealer center or support center of them...i know that in USA it is possible tp buy full system with 2 wheels and replace it..it cost near 50 $...but with shippng to me it will be near 70))
so, it is not much to choose from to clear the problem)
Thank you for this wonderful and truly useful video. I hope you didn't have to do everything twice just to film it! And thanks for being a good videographer and editor. I KNOW it's a lot of work. Great soundtrack BTW. Who is it?
thanks my friend! that´s a realtime filming, no way I would do this whole process twice lol the edition was a bit improvised, but i´m glad you enjoyed! the Soundtrack is Duende from Black Light Syndrome (Terry Bozzio, Tony Levin and Steve Stevens)
Great video, always wondered what the Big O looks like on the inside. Man, I wish I could afford one :) (and that I could spend 8 hours a day with it)
hey Bigs, thanks for watching! I posted on the forum some HQ pictures of the Oasys disassembled, some of them are huge so you can have a GOOD look inside :)
Hey Cesar! Sorry to hear about your broken joystick, I´m glad you managed to repair it. I don´t own an Oasys but I loved the tutorial, simple and fun to watch!! I can´t believe Korg used this shitty material to build the mighty Oasys! Regarding the warranty, that´s just wrong. Better luck next time lol What song you play in the end, is it yours?
hi Crane, thanks for your words, I almost freaked out when this happend. I´m playing Jewel in the end, it´s a song by Jason Becker and Marty Friedman :)
