I noticed you were pulling the trigger all in one motion. The Glocks are known to have poor triggers because of the safety in the trigger. Whenever you are trying to fire you will have better accuracy if you pull the trigger past the safety, and then squeeze gently to fire the round. Know that there is that half pull before there is danger of firing. This will improve accuracy tremendously.
good video man...until I see the UofM jacket...Go Bucks! Seriously, glad you like the G21...going to get one myself on principle now....btw, for others info, if you are a LEO, Fireman, military (active, guard, reserve or retired from any) you can still pick them up for around $400 from an authorized Glock LEO dealer in your area...just have an ID...same price as the GSSF discount, just no limits on how many you buy...
Nice gun, a glock is a great choice, a .45 ACP glock is even better. If you want another firearm, I would suggest a .22 rifle/carbine or .22 pistol. .22 long rifle weapons are great for cheap shooting, recoil is praticaly nothing too.
Hey man, I see this is an old video, so I'm sure you've gotten much better since then with practice. However, a REALLY good site for learning to shoot Glocks well is glockfaq. Go to the "trigger techniques" section. It GREATLY improved my shooting. I, too, started out with a G21 several years ago. It's a great gun. That website is great, even for experienced shooters. It always helps to get back to the basics. Good luck!
You will get better with more practice. That double action trigger is hard to get used to at first. Next time u go to shoot, line up your sights on the Target and take all of the tension out of the trigger and then lightly squeeze the rest of the way. It's simple but it helps
The americans love their caliber(45 acp) damn in italy i cant get the 9x19 parabellum ammo because is a military type of ammunition instead we have 9x21IMI i have a glock 17 in 9 x21but in italy we have a ammo limitation for small arms for 200 ammo in total (that sucks)
Glock Easy to clean reliable shoots under water can be buried in the mud and left for a month and then dug up and fired... its like the AK of handguns. Furthermore it is like the civic of handguns as in customizable. My g29 is a 10mm but i have done so much to it. For starters a lasermax internal laser guide rod. Upgraded from 10 round clips to 15. he best is the 2 conversion barrels by KKM that allow it to shoot either .40s&w or 357sig and a .22 conversion kit. 4 guns in 1
@DEMCAD looks like your dominate eye may be opposite of your dominate hand. Close one eye, if your left eye is open, shoot left-handed... etc. Nice weapon, I like my Glock 26.
I've been a sub for a while now and just watched this video. During this video I noticed that your technique could use some tweaking. I'd like to send you a Handgun Accuracy E-book that really helped me. I'm not trying to sell anything. I actually sent the same e-book to afroprepper. Since I can't attach a file through this comment, I'd need your e-mail address. If you don't want to give it to me - I will understand.
Enjoyed your video. Keep up the good work. Practice, practice, practice. Every shooter starts out on the same page. The best shooters are the ones that practice the right way, and practice often. By-the-way, the emply caseings in the yellow envelope are where Glock test fired the gun. That is common practice on most guns.
@45bandit He's(DEMCAD) right. You may be in a state that restricts the 13 round mags. I live in VA, but I ordered my gun from a dealer in SD, and it came with two 13 round mags new in the box. Sweet pistola though! :-D
Great video. My Glock 21 tends to really knock me back a bit since i am not such a big guy, but you seem to really have it under control. Thanks for the 'no oil' tip...i did not know that. The break down part was good too since i have obviously been doing it the hard way. Please post more videos soon. You have good camera presence.
I think we can all do without the hurtful racist remarks that were left; there is just no place for it here. Good job DEMCAD and keep yourself safe up there. Nice vid.
might i reccomend a .357 magnam for a self defence weapon loaded with hollowpoints. They're aren't many cons about a glock .45 but one is that there is always a chance it will jam. Also a .357 will kill someone in one shot if you use hollow points. I do love the .45 but the .357 will never jam EVER and is a lot of fun to shoot.
@NESurvivalPrep Really? Foolish, ignorant me thought that the company who makes the gun test fires it to be sure that it's safe and meets company standards. Do they really share confidential information with the Fed?
@NESurvivalPrep They show you Glock test fired your weapon in the factory to make sure It does go bang and won't blow up in your face the first time you squeeze the trigger.
man the recoil spring is suppose to sit fully down in the half moon you just put it in and let it sit at the top when you put it in push the recoil spring forward and push down goes in perfect everytime
Good video, but it appears you need to have your right hand higher on the grip. You want to get those big hands as high as possible because it will control recoil better and you will avoid limp wristing.
Good vid man! Looks like ur PULLING he trigger, Ideal is to squeeze the trigger softly to where it surprises u when it fires. U'll get much better groups/ accuracy that way. and those emty shell cases are from the factory test firing the pistol for FBI ballistics. they have to give u the empty cases. Hang in there, u'll be a gun freak like me in no time.lol
My first pistol was a .40 cal Glock. I shoot mostly .22 s these days and would recommend you buy a .22 pistol or rifle for the range. I typically shoot 500 rounds everytime I hit up the range because it only costs about $15. Plus, my Ruger 10/22 will shoot the cap off a pepsi bottle at 100 yards. That is my "fun gun". Then I pull out my .44 mag to impress the neighbors.
hey man those 2 shells are there for either 2 reason test firing... and for identification reasons.. sputs round.. i think its called.. totally waste of tax payer money.. anyways cheers man
Dude you really need to get out the range more. That said Great review I have been looking at fire arms to buy and just started looking seriously at the Glock 21. Your review was very helpful thanks.
Was thinking of you and your Glock two days ago when I went to the range and tried out the Glock 21. Ended up buying a Springfield XD-40 Sub Compact. That 45 really has some kick. I liked it though. Very accurate.
umm ur putting your guide rod/spring in wrong, if you notice on the front of the lugs there is a 1/2 moon notch (righ under where the back of the spring sits) your suposed to compress the spring and push it down into there, not let it float around like you did in the vid at 4:40.. happy shooting!
the 2 empty shells are snap caps to let off the action when you are storing it, so you dont soften your firing mechanism by having it constantly cocked.
you need to practice squeezing the trigger not snapping it back, just take a breath in, squeeze steadily trying to hold on target, and release literally as fast as it takes to read tose words
impressive for a person who's has a video "why i hate guns"
you went straight to big bores, 12ga and .45 the kick may put you off alot of use &practice
nice video. A little advice don't limp wrist a glock you will get a stove pipe jam. control your triger pull a little better one smooth draw don't jerk it off target. you can work on triger pull cheap if you get a couple of snap caps there just dumie rounds you load in your gun so you don't dry fire it. keep up the good work. stay prepared.
Oh, and the two spent casings are for those who don't know what size the .45 ACP is. ;) Don't ask me why someone who doesn't know what it is, would buy it. lol
Hey man, I have a shooting tip for you, well, a couple if you'll take them. I haven't been shooting long, but I've learned what I know from people who have shot in tournaments and stuff and have been shooting their whole lives. Anyway, I noticed, if you broaden your stance, kind of like a boxer stands, and lean into the shot a little bit, it will control your arm movement tremendously! And if you take more time in between shots, control your breath, you will tighten your groups TONS!
this guy doesn't know jack about cleaning a glock...........oil your gun PLEASE, sounds really dry......I own 3 different glocks....glock19 9mm, glock22 .40cal, and my beast glock21 .45 ....... GOTTA LOVE THEM GLOCKS...
Hey that was informative! Thank you! I am considering a Glock 21. I like .45 ACP as opposed to 9mm, and really like the polymers over the 1911 style bec of capacity. Thanks again!!!
Great video...you didn't do bad at all...I use to shoot a little high and to the right also...I took some training and its wasn't the sights, it was my trigger pull..I was using to much of my finger and it was pulling me off...But if it were a bear you would have got him...Get a wood splitter ! that just makes me sweat seeing you working that hard.
I do recommend to you DEMCAD do not keep racking the slide back and forth over and over because over time when it is metal against metal it will wear down over a period of time and your rounds might not seat right in the chamber. Just thought I might help you out.
I just bought a Bersa .380 and it came with empty shell also. I think most hand guns do. The next weapon I'm going to get is an AR-15. Can't wait for that one.
not bad video m8, im from the u.k. and im a little bit of a gun nut, i like the glock 21 with the 45 acp round id heard that their design was simple but i didnt realise it was that easy to maintain if i move too the u.s. in a few years thats the first gun im buying unless something better catches my eye!
Great vid! I went w/a 9mm Walther P-38 for my home security system. May not have quite the stopping power of a .45, but the ammo is cheaper & usually more readily available (in my area, you can find ammo fairly easy so the bottom line that influenced my desicion was price). Been thinking of supplementing w/a .45, though. Any suggestion on a reasonably-priced model?
wow,you chose a .45 for a first gun? thats kinda unusual haha, how do you like the recoil as a new shooter,it looks pretty controlable with you being a new shooter and the gun being .45
@JohnFromSpace yea lol thats pretty god though,i actually just let my friend who is female fire a hammerless ultralight .38 with +p loads and she liked it,actually wanted to keep shooting the plus p stuff but its so dam expensive to be using carry ammo at the range lol
I've decided on the Glock 21 also. I realize it's not the optimal ccw due to the full size, but I've got big hands and will be using it primarily for home defense. That was a good review of the pistol...thanks for doing it.
Your popping the trigger to much. Practice keeping your pull finger on the trigger rather than slapping it ea. time. I have the same pistol to and it is a deadly accurate pistol once you get use to it. I have a great resource on ammo if you need it, just send me a note.
Nice dry squeaky gun. Stupid fuckking nig. How many have you killed with it. YOU FUCKING PEOPLE ARE THE REAL TERRORISTS. I HOPE YOU KILL YOURSELF WIF IT.
Those empty shells that they give you are from when the gun was test fired at the factory. Its just proof that the gun is in good working order. A lot of guns come with them.
Dude.. you reeaaallly need to grease your guide rails. When you rack the slide it shouldnt squeak like that. Those are those 4 little metal tabs that the slide moves on. And remember to use GREASE not oil. You will notice a difference big time.
Someone probably already said it, but the reason for the 1 or 2 used shell casings that come with the gun in the yellow envelope is that in certain states, by law, you must mail them to the state government so they can "fingerprint" your gun ballistically (those rounds were fired at the factory in your pistol to test it, and will have the groves unique to your gun so that the government can catalog it and use it against you someday). Rhode Island does this. In most states you toss them.
Nice vid. I have the Glock22 (.40cal) and Glock26 (9mm). I figure that the .40cal can pretty much do anything that the .45 can do as long as you have the right ammo. The 9mm is subcompact and what I use for concealed carry. No matter what caliber, at the end of the day -it comes down to shot placement.
Oh man it's good to see another black survivalist, seems like we are very few and far between. If you know whats going on with the impending police state/collapse please tell a friend in the black community,we need to get self sufficient in a hurry people.Good luck to all survivalists no matter any color.
I loved your video, but I want to suggest you something: take a look at that spring, because when you cocked the gun, all the times you did that, I heard a strange sound coming out of it. And trust me, it wasn't confortable to my ears, and probably not to your ears too. ;) Loved the video anyway, and that's why you got a new subscriber!
I see so many learning to fire their guns and they extend their arm and aim as you did what will the future actually hold? You will use the handgun for close in combat anything outside10 yds is waisting ammo. Out side 10 you will use the shot gun beyond 30 riffle. Learn to use your HG holding it at your belly area with a hand on the base this is so you will not have the weapon removed from you when sweeping the home your library should have a video on this technique it is where I learned it.
I agree about challenging times ahead. However a gun is worthless without ammo. Stock up big time on ammo just in case. During any type of crisis they stop selling ammo. Stock up be ready, be safe.
I used to have a Gov't Model 1911 in .45ACP, but now use the XD-9 Springfield in .40 S&W. The .45 is nice, but the .40 uses fewer resources. It is lighter to carry, has generally higher velocity, and is a good defense gun. The XD-9 is in many ways like this Glock.
I carry one every day on duty and I LOVE it. After carrying a revolver for 14 years, I chose the Glock 21 for a few reasons. Simplicity and reliability - I like the Glock because it gives me 2X the capacity of other 45 ACP's, but is reliable like a revolver & shoots like a revolver (no manual safeties, no de-cocker - just draw, shoot, and re-holster). It mounts a light which makes clearing buildings easier. It's in-expensive. It's a 45 ACP (my dept doesn't authorize a larger caliber).
when your shooting, dont lock your arms. makes you feel the recoil more and throws you off more. just gotta relax your arms a little. and those two rounds are snap caps. you use those when you are dry firing to prevent damage to the internals. i love the glock and have a 21 myself. good choice on the caliber.
the two shells that comes with the glock are from the test fire. they test fire every glock before they send them out and give you the two shells why i don't know but glocks are sick. just got my first one
If anyone out there wants a Glock but cant afford one, You should consider getting a Smith and Wesson Sigma 9mm or 40 cal. Pretty much identical to a glock except for there is no saftey switch, The saftey is built in to the trigger which makes it harder to pull the trigger on a sigma than a glock. They range in price form $300 to $350. Compared to a Glock that is a bargin.
A little advice...no charge. When you shoot a Glock, any Glock, do NOT release you finger after each shot as you do in this video, just relax it and the trigger will 'reset' and you eliminate all the travel necessary on the first shot. You groups will improve...a lot. Good luck.
After you fire the last round, and you don't know the gun is empty and pull the trigger again you'll notice that you jerk the gun, your doing that on every shot. Remember to sqeeze the trigger. Great vid, enjoy the gun.
dont get me wrong i love all glocks and i have 4 myself, but if CC is your overall objective i would go with a glock 30 or 36, both in 45 acp, but with the 21 you get alot of firepower for a 45 acp, and great home defense weapon, exspecially with some 230 grain hst

The ballistic info goes to the State Police so if the gun is used in a crime, it can be tracked.

You could probably ask a gun shop or email a place that sells them.

you went straight to big bores, 12ga and .45 the kick may put you off alot of use &practice

@joestropicals they are actually the factory fired spent shells to show you that the gun fires

811cablemaster 1 year ago

@PushJWC That's a fact. However the other assumptions some of these guys make are pretty amusing.
Like the twit below claiming they are to store in the chamber and keep the "hammer ready and strong".....ROFL.

this guy doesn't know jack about cleaning a glock...........oil your gun PLEASE, sounds really dry......I own 3 different glocks....glock19 9mm, glock22 .40cal, and my beast glock21 .45 ....... GOTTA LOVE THEM GLOCKS...

Hey that was informative! Thank you! I am considering a Glock 21. I like .45 ACP as opposed to 9mm, and really like the polymers over the 1911 style bec of capacity. Thanks again!!!

The glock is nice. I was able to shoot one at a range in Utah. I didn't keep it though! It was a 9mm. The 17? , I think.

Any suggestion on a reasonably-priced model?
tchapman1977 1 year ago
wow,you chose a .45 for a first gun? thats kinda unusual haha, how do you like the recoil as a new shooter,it looks pretty controlable with you being a new shooter and the gun being .45

I've decided on the Glock 21 also. I realize it's not the optimal ccw due to the full size, but I've got big hands and will be using it primarily for home defense. That was a good review of the pistol...thanks for doing it.

The fired rounds are the ones they test fire at the factory. They send them to you as an "assurance". I believe it's a legal requirement.

Your popping the trigger to much. Practice keeping your pull finger on the trigger rather than slapping it ea. time. I have the same pistol to and it is a deadly accurate pistol once you get use to it. I have a great resource on ammo if you need it, just send me a note.

Those empty shells that they give you are from when the gun was test fired at the factory. Its just proof that the gun is in good working order. A lot of guns come with them.
thatRONIN 1 year ago
@thatRONIN NO....THEY DONT STUPID FUCK.
leebob86 1 year ago
Dude.. you reeaaallly need to grease your guide rails. When you rack the slide it shouldnt squeak like that. Those are those 4 little metal tabs that the slide moves on. And remember to use GREASE not oil. You will notice a difference big time.
thatRONIN 1 year ago

NC77583 1 year ago
I see so many learning to fire their guns and they extend their arm and aim as you did what will the future actually hold? You will use the handgun for close in combat anything outside10 yds is waisting ammo. Out side 10 you will use the shot gun beyond 30 riffle. Learn to use your HG holding it at your belly area with a hand on the base this is so you will not have the weapon removed from you when sweeping the home your library should have a video on this technique it is where I learned it.
cdltpx 1 year ago
I agree about challenging times ahead. However a gun is worthless without ammo. Stock up big time on ammo just in case. During any type of crisis they stop selling ammo. Stock up be ready, be safe.

I used to have a Gov't Model 1911 in .45ACP, but now use the XD-9 Springfield in .40 S&W. The .45 is nice, but the .40 uses fewer resources. It is lighter to carry, has generally higher velocity, and is a good defense gun. The XD-9 is in many ways like this Glock.
Albacorewing 1 year ago
@Albacorewing The XD9 is 9mm, the XD40 is 40 S&W, just wanted to throw that out there. I love my XD9 sub compact.

It's a 45 ACP (my dept doesn't authorize a larger caliber).
infectedvector 1 year ago
when your shooting, dont lock your arms. makes you feel the recoil more and throws you off more. just gotta relax your arms a little. and those two rounds are snap caps. you use those when you are dry firing to prevent damage to the internals. i love the glock and have a 21 myself. good choice on the caliber.
emtmartinez1989 1 year ago

If anyone out there wants a Glock but cant afford one, You should consider getting a Smith and Wesson Sigma 9mm or 40 cal. Pretty much identical to a glock except for there is no saftey switch, The saftey is built in to the trigger which makes it harder to pull the trigger on a sigma than a glock. They range in price form $300 to $350. Compared to a Glock that is a bargin.
chadj79 1 year ago
@chadj79 damn i thought the smith an wess was more expensive than a glock
1911 was 1500
while the 21 i seen was 850
but i am in canada so my prices here are the ass rape versions
