he's good, but the song has absolutely no structure. it jumps around entirely too much. sounds like it could have been a medley that wasn't transitioned very well.
@Kudan26 Its just the style for metal, hardcore, or anything that uses double kick eccessively. Its becomes a dull drone without the high end "click".....The more you know =D
@nicolaepanfilii..you are another piece of shit. I listen to drummers like Gadd and Weckl. I only knew justin bieber after you mentioned his name. why dont you suck his dick and have the threesome with this dumb drummer in this video too.
@royrand i'd like to see you do this as cleanly as he does... in fact i'd like to see you make any sort of attempt at it... cause i'm sure you wouldn't even come close to this is at all. suck a dick
Im glad you guys had sean on, im sure for a lot of people he helped them out, he helped me incorporate some blast beats in to my own songs as well....
did he ever explain his pedal settings? Cause i have axis al-2's to but when i switch from the sonic beater i cant get the settings right. my right pedal works great and my slave doesnt hardly work at all.
Flam tap, without the flam. So right and left at same time, then a right. Then left and right together, then a left. Crappy explanation, check out flam tap and that's the closest to what he's doing.
lol just had a friend tell me this guy sucked and didn't know how to play This Ghost Of Ours, and that he did a better cover.... I proceeded to tell him it was the drummer of First Reign and he just shut down.... made me LOL!
Yes. Sean is the drummer for First Reign. And no this isn't First Reign's youtube account, Haha. My brothers in the band and a long time ago I made this account because I really look up to him and the band.
few things seemed to have changed. im guessing you guys took out that little melody you used to have at 3:33. i remember in your old practice video there was a cool little melody there. not that it's bad now. still sounds amazing man.
wow you guys are amazing doing all these latest covers!
ive really enjoyed watching them
they are really common and i have actually tried playing them by myself but this really give me a clear mind on how they are supposed to sound like :D
probably my favorite play along, I was thinking that he had to have put so much work into this cover, then I saw someone say that he is first reign's drummer, and I was just like "oh, that makes sense" absolutely awesome though, favorited
@upurbox don't forget also how he set up his drumkit very ergonomically, right heights for drums & cymbals, compact with everything within easy reach, that is also key for being able to play fast and stay relaxed.
2:54 is about as fast as I can play double bass. I am working very hard on getting faster but I playing clean is important to me. Does anyone have some "beginner" metal songs for me to play along to so I can build up my endurance and speed?
I've been playing some old school Metallica and Anthrax songs because that's all I have currenltly in my music selection. 4:22 on was intense. I love all the different ideas he threw in. Very clever playing and oops I think I just threw up again dammit!!!!
try practicing simple double bass rudiments over and over. you'll be surprised at how much it improves your speed, endurance, and cleanliness. for example, try doing RLR on the double bass then pause. then do another RLR then pause. do those little triplets and then switch to LRL. repeat. then try to see how fast you can do those little "blasts" with a decent pause in between. then add another "stroke" in there by doing RLRL. build up the speed and repeat. just a way that helps me.
I always just picked a song with a tempo close to what my double bass speed was and just played straight double bass all the way through. Its way more fun than playing with a click.
@Tuberidin01 hi mate =). you could try painkiller by judas preist. the start of it is wayyyy to fast but after a few seconds the drummer plays the double bass at half the speed he played at the start =) hope i helped
0.00 through 0:16 was so RAD that you played that and came in perfectly with the music. Alright tell the truth, your the drummer for First Reign and the band was in the room playing with you. I really enjoy watching you play the drums. You inspire me. I love all styles of drumming but I really want to learn how to play metal. Man its tough stuff.
@freedrumlessons What kind of sticking pattern did you play at 5:54 ?? when your hand alternated from snare to hi hat?? i really want to know so bad :D, really cool, thx
@SonicOrbStudios I was talking about overall quality of the sound, not the mix :). I am watching this now again and seems that youtube player was crippling the sound the previous time, now it's perfect :)
