  • Okay seriously. This version kicks ass. I like it better then the Gavin Harrison version the drums here has more Oomph.

  • Classic beauty.

  • Porcupine Tree is the greatest band of all times.

  • @TabathaFerShiz - the lesson here is - Don't mess with PT Fans. True - we're more intelligent than those who worship commercialized mainstream excuse for music, but, in the end - we are fans, and we will defend PT always! No offense meant though :-)

  • all dislikes are slowly fading away!

  • @SomethingReal1119 Well Fripp has played in the Fear of a blank Planet album lead guitar on "Nil Recurring" and soundscapes on "Way Out of Here" ;)

  • Rather Pink Floydish, hey?

  • @TabathaFerShiz

I think alot of bands live to have their balls licked. Isn't that the point to being in a band? Getting respect for music comes second. I'd say most musicians wouldn't give a shit if you didn't respect something they loved.

  • @pryce2112

Better still, I like to fuck on drugs when I have this.....

  • Fuck drugs when you have this...thumbs up!

  • chills go down my spin listening to this, amazing song pt is the best!

  • probably my favorite song by them. Love that slide

  • beautiful, like that song very much!!!

  • Dream with me

Lets fly in the the sky

    Float in the clouds

    Never asking why

    Let us just dream away

  • @jjj187 dislocated day ,,up the down stair,,small fish/burning sky..prepare yourself ...the sky moved sideways..always never, idiot prayer..dark matter.on and on

  • supeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • This song is great but all of you are cunt's for glorifying it so much. I mean does a band really want people to lick their balls all day, they want people to respect their music.

  • @TabathaFerShiz obviously your just some dumb ass brod who cant understand that yes, a band does want people to glorify their music. they want them to feel the emotion and effort put forth to each and every song. to full acknowledge and appreciate the beauty the comes in this music. so now shut up and listen to the music

  • @6Silence6Serenity6 Hell yeah :)!

  • @TabathaFerShiz there are fans and there are fanatics

  • @TabathaFerShiz There are fans and there are fanatics

  • @TabathaFerShiz I understand what you mean. But there is no need to call them cunts.

This song is damn near perfect. Well the part at the very end might be alittle repetetive. But thats all. I really appreciate Steven Wilson attention to detail and flow. Because im very much about that. Maybe its because I have AS I dunno.

  • @TabathaFerShiz

    >has hawthorne heights as "featured video"

    Your opinion is automatically invalid.

  • @TabathaFerShiz your pathetic attempt to glorify yourself as an individualistic person by criticising someones fruitless yet joyful devotion to a band just about colors you as selfimportant, you saw yourself divided from the rest of the sheep by your supposedly unique opinion, which is in fact the polar opposite, generic and derived from the mere wish of the black sheep to stand out, but its still a sheep, being herded by the same dog...

  • I too feel myself moved to tears. PT's music is something that I have a hard time wrapping my head around. The music is so deep, smart and amazing. I love Steve Wilson and everything he touches in the music industry. This song is magical.

  • every time I put this song on my ipod I walk in slow motion without even noticing it

  • @joelism1989

i had that too, but then in my time we had walk-man, low battery slows the song too xD

  • I'm a fairly new fan of Wilson/PT, and they have a HUGE library of stuff. It seems every new song I hear is better than the one I just heard before. EVERY single one! Is that even possible? Could it be that Wilson is a true musical creative genius? I wonder if he's ever played with Robert Fripp? Wow..... just, wow....

  • @SomethingReal1119 I'm not sure if he's played with Fripp, but he has been remastering some of the old KC albums.

  • @EllieElaine1 I like Blackfield.

  • I was on a hill station. On a garden. At 1 am. It was dark. Clouds were passing through the garden. I was stoned. And then I played this track.

I cannot fuckin tell you what i experienced there.

    It changed my life.

    I love you Porcupine Tree.

  • cause of them i can cry for every song they made,

but it is a-happy cry, cause everytime i try to play with them on the guitar i realise

it aint that hard, but once when i can handle it it is such a magic play, cause i experimentate, what a inspiration!

  • Seriously, on every single mellow song I see about 30 people not shutting up about the wonders of combining illegal drugs with this music. PT give you a legal high, why not just settle with that instead of showing off on youtube?

  • just. absolutely. amazing.

  • does anybody have any PT song recommendations? i like psychodelic pink floyd style songs like this one. I want to know more songs by PT that have that sound. :D

  • @Jjjj187 listen to anesthetize, its an 18 min song that will sure give you the feel of being somewhere else.

  • @Jjjj187 The Moon Touches Your Shoulder, Nine Cats, Stars Die, Black Dahlia...

  • Unbelievable!!!

    Great song....

  • this song + weed = new definition of being high

  • what album is this?, please.

  • @Dannymusic1999

    Stars Die

  • @Nebuz69 Thanks for the info! What Porcupine Tree album do you think is the best?

  • @Nebuz69 ...Up the Downstair, as well (original studio album)

  • @Dannymusic1999 ...album? ....XMII.

  • @ALTDOK666 Bob apparently our fellow Youtuber say's it's "Stars Die".

  • @Dannymusic1999 ...my fellow utubers are wrong...me included, sorta. This song is from an album called XM II which is a live album . The studio album this is from is called..."UP THE DOWNSTAIR"."Stars Die - The Delerium Years" was a compilation album which did include this song, though.

  • "Why is she laughing at me?"

"Where do the voices come from?"

Love it every time he gets to these parts of the song.

  • FYI, I'm a 57 yr old "old fart" who USUALLY don't listen to todays (or yesterdays either) "head banging" so-called 'music'.... but as ludogie put it so poiently: DAAAAAAAMN, IT'S HARD TO DESCRIBE HOW THIS MUSIC TOUCHES YOUR SOUL IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

And for some reason, I LIKE THIS SHEEEITE! (lol ;o)

  • @hawgshuggs -

for the ones who dont like it, its just because, they never hear of them ;)

  • Gives me chills

  • This so makes me happy and sad at the same time. Its beauty sets my mind and body in absolute harmony.

  • @AneeAniAnees : Finally found it : watch?v=LJAUiHgrus4

  • This is only one of the many reasons I passionately love Steven Wilson and his band Porcupine Tree.

  • This is not pink yes genesis

    This real

  • Probably my favourite PT song of their early "electronica / trance" beginnings

  • This song is so beautiful it really is, they remind me of a modern day pink floyd which of course is a good thing.

  • amazing!!! remindsme pink floyd!!!

  • Fabulous!!!!!

  • Does anyone has the version sung by John Wesley In the Album XMII (Transmission 4.1)??

  • Fading away with PT into the realms of the divine, yet again.

  • Hit heaven far too high.... Ah, the sweet fungal memories of this little jewel...

  • A mind blowing sound that sends shivers down the spine

  • THIS IS CRAZY SHIT, PERSONALLY I LISTEN TO HIPHOP,DAY IN,DAY OUT.

BUT DAAAAAAAMN,IT'S HARD TO DESCRIBE HOW THIS MUSIC TOUCHES YOUR SOUL IF YOU LIKE IT OR NOT.

WELL LET ME SAY: IF YOU DON'T FEEL THIS MUSIC AT ALL,YOU BETTER CHECK SOME DOCTOR BECAUSE THEN YOU AIN'T HUMAN.

  • @ludogie true. respect man.

  • @ludogie hey... its called real music

  • @ludogie

Check a tech support, your caps lock seems broken.

  • @ludogie

Yeah same 4 me so i can relate its good 2 not be close minded to any music. if its real

  • @ludogie

    CAPS LOCK

  • Oh, how I so love the music of this magnificent band. After my death, when I exit that tunnel into outer space toward that bright, warm light, I hope I am listening to this song as I journey to what ever or where ever it is we go after we pass away. Some of Porcupine Tree's music is so beautiful, powerful and haunting, that it sometimes moves me to tears. No other band does that to me. Not a one. Not ever. I close my eyes and bow my head in deference to greatness.

  • @Hawk44Gent

I am so with you. This music transcends the soul...resonates with the heavens...

  • check album 'We're here because we're here - Anathema

  • @Hawk44Gent Yout that right ;)

  • @Hawk44Gent

    I agree, their absolutely amazing!

  • @Hawk44Gent I agree:-?though you have to admit, some of Dream Theater's work is at least as moving as Porcupine Tree's.Not as moody as PT, may sound a little too technical to some people sometimes, but they know how to right beautiful compositions. I myself imagine being carried away, beyond the veil, while The Spirit Carries On is playing in my head:X

  • @Hawk44Gent I feel exactly the same way... exactly that way! You just put into words what i have been feeling ever since I discovered them.

  • one of P.T.`s perfect tracks..

    rythm, melody, keyboards, vocals,

    a rare rarity

  • this song reminds me of a sunset

  • one of the best PT song's ever

  • Musitastic ! > 5 Stars

  • kool song

  • indeed one of my all time favs by pt

  • Fadeaway...it's just another day... ; )

  • nice visuals to this fantastic song. A+
