  • Little did he know that in the future he would have one of these and a second 27" display! That's like having 4 monitors!

  • whoahh. first it all started with 20" now 27 soon . 30. what's next 40??

  • looks good, I'm gonna get the 21" model in a couple weeks

  • OMFG :o look at 1:14 you see a sexy lady!!

  • i got the new 21.5 inch ids there a difference at all,

  • honestly in my opineon if get a mac pro then you wont be due for a update for a long time so ya

  • I have one and it's awesome!

  • ohhhhh, I want one sooooooooo bad!!!!!

  • i am getting one tomorrow

  • so wait, they can make a 27 inch screen with a pixel amount to 2560x1440, but they cant make my 45 inch bravia tv over 1080p? thats bullshit! and for that matter, the nexus 1 has 480p, and its pretty shall, could you imagine the resolution and picture if they used those small nexus 1 pizels on a 50 in flat screen? and not to mention the blu-ray 3d technology, the thought just gives me a braingasm! but i guess a 999999999p 50 in 3d tv would cost milions, but there always is the future!

  • they can make that 45in bravia display 2560x1440....but 1080p is one of the standards for TVs

  • well of course they can make it.

  • lolol i totally agree with you mate, i spent £1200 on a 46" Samsung "Full HD" tv last year and apple smacked it with that pixel density of 2560x1440. The 42" and above really do need the pixels, when i watch blu rays at home i am amazed by the quality, but i still believe it can be alot better. Now apple have proven it.

  • @wackyjk17 Higher resolution then 1080P is not needed on a tv right now. You sit longer away from the TV then a computer display

  • Private message me if you want a lockerz invite. For those of you that don't know what lockerz is, it's a website where you earn points for doing simple things such as signing in, answering daily questions, and inviting other people to lockerz.

  • blows compared to what u can build a pc for the same price

  • @bert91212 You can't build a PC that would be comparable to the 27" iMac for the same price. You're forgetting that this is an all-in-one design, a comparable screen on the PC side would probably be the Dell display which costs around $1,700, the same price as the iMac. For $300 more you have one with a quad core, all in one very sleek and slim aluminum design.

  • if u got the skill like me u can, learn shit then talk, not to mention who the fuck cares its a desktop and i garentee you i can and i will even pm you a parts list

  • There is no 27" LED backlit IPS 2560x1440 screen on the windows side so the 30" Dell screen comes closest and that costs $1700, so that leaves you only $300 to compile a PC so the price is equal. You can't possibly tell me a $300 PC is in anyway comparable to the iMac. Even if you could build a system with the same specs it would look more like a homemade bomb than anything and you couldn't run OS X and Windows side by side or dual booted. Its just not comparable.

  • your a typical macfag, who cares if its all in one? its a desktop it just stays where its at, if you really move it around that much get a fuckin laptop. and im sorry if i really wanted to i could install a lcd in the side panel of a full atx case and have it mounted so it looks decent. all you macfags are all about asthectics well guess what? your paying for some over priced shit hardware made to look nice. performance that you can get from a home built system for 800?

  • rather a macfag than a computer nerd fag like you are lol

  • @caboose1289 LIAN LI = Full Aluminium PC Cases. Finest Quality, I only build with that cases. I build you a i7 or 8 or whatever you want with two OCZ Vertex Turbo SSD in a RAID (no Raid on iMac!) for 400 bucks ! that said, the imac screen alone is worth alot, i would buy it any second about any other screen I came along. its nice that it comes with an imac and the magic mouse :) peace

  • @caboose1289 Dell features the same ips LG panel in its new 27 inch. get your facts straight dude

  • @bert91212

Your not considering the screen. If you read the details about the screen you will see why the pricing is good. But until you do you should bs about it.

  • all it is, is an led screen its not ground breaking, all it is is a led film instead of cold cathode tubes.

  • @bert91212

    That's not all.

  • I think the price of the 27 inch iMac is very reasonable. You're getting a 27 inch computer with everything in it and wireless mouse and keyboard.

  • i have it

  • me too, unfortunately i cant open the box till christmas, WHY MOM. . .WHY!!!

  • never seen a 30" model

  • @bighitta13 There is no such thing as a 30" iMac only display, but no iMac

  • hahahahaha aw i hate that :P

  • Getting one in a week or two!!! :D Can't wait!

  • Jon, if you pick one of these up, which i hope you do, can you do a speed test and review and what not?

  • que loco pija!!!!!!

  • ahaha thats not pages its numbers. and its great i have it way better than the 24 inch i had!

  • Can you connect the iMac with a Blu-Ray player?

  • nope. its an OUTPORT to any kind of adapter available for minidisplay. but its only an INPORT for minidisplay devices. Wich at this point are only apple computers. but who knows they might release an adapter to change the inports for also HDMI and such.

  • that's not really that high?

Samsung has pushed out monitors with higher resolution way before this

  • only thing that could be better : the cinema display

  • perfect computer , i want it :'(

  • So, could you essentially use this as your monitor for your xbox 360?? That would be awesome!

  • @lvrhorner yes you can and you can also connect a ps3, there is a usb tht had 3 wires for the wires from 360, and when you connect you can play... the quality is not hd but still cool

  • personally i prefer 16:10 monitors although 16:9 has become mainstream. 16:9 is most suitable for movies but does not maximise viewable area for wordprocessing and internet browsing. when monitor size is 22"+ the picture becomes too large for watching movies at close workstation distances anyway. i am happy with my 24" 16:10 acer.

  • 2160*1440?? Holy! I want this.

  • you can only use video in if you have a minidisplay port

  • you DO realize it's an all-in-one computer, yes?

  • yes im one one right now because i work at a video production studio and we have to use these.

  • do want

  • "Lower chin" that's a great name for the silver area under the screen :P

  • @jorn89 its better than a "nipple ball" , he used this phrase for describing a little scroll ball on the old apple mouse (mighty mouse)

  • HHAHAHAHA

  • ha now he just doesnt buy he just goes to the apple store

  • Does this guy not know the difference between pages and numbers??

  • Video in and out!??!

Dont think so...where is the DVI in/Out?

  • The iMac has video in/out

  • It uses Mini DisplayPort.

  • mini display port

  • 1700? Ouch. A decent deal if your in the Apple realm. You can get almost any 30'' on the market that runs 2560x1600 resolution and have probably equivalent quality. I'm not saying Apple products aren't great, because I think they are, but I don't personally think this is a great deal from a pricing point of view.

  • IPS panel LED backligh, And that rez. There is no athor monitor to be better at that price

  • You don't need an INSANE computer to play Crysis. I can build one for 600 dollars that runs Crysis at max settings with a good fps.

The 27" iMac surpasses the recommended system requirements for Crysis.

  • when crysis came out, at the time, it was very expensive to build a rig that could run it well.

  • No it wasn't. You just need to know what you're doing and not buy overpriced mainstream hardware.

  • yes but it cannot play it:D y dont thynk that u can play crysys on mac or can you?(if so y would buy that for the living room :D)

  • You can if you boot into Windows.

  • I did on my late 2006 20 inch. Ran no problems.

  • yes you can.

  • i love playing Crysis on this...it's an amazing experience

  • Can this run Crysis?

    I don't think so!

    Enough said.

  • No computer can run Crysis, fuck you need like the craziest computer for it. Anyways fuck off PC fag, I use PC but I don't flaunt around like OMG MACS DONT PLAY GAMES.

  • The 27" iMac surpasses the recommended system requirements for Crysis.

  • Except that you need Winows.

  • Yeah but we don't want to run the game we want to PLAY the game

  • What hunteruniden said.

There's nothing wrong with Macs and PC's. It's just that, they both have their specific uses.

Mac's are great for media purposes whilst PC's are great for data intensive programs.

  • I hate watching stuff like this.. I've got got countless iPods and iPhones and a Macbook and I'm always wanting more! I gotta stop torturing myself!

  • Yes.

  • WANT....

  • i love it.. and all the neww things, mouse and macbook

  • Still seems to have less of a pixel density (resolution) than PC monitors.

  • Unstung- We know what resolution is wise-ass.

  • I think apple should have stayed with the 24 inch but that's just my opinion. I will be gettn the 21.5 in in like two wks. I can't wait to go to my local apple store to pick it up. Let the countdown begin.

  • These iMacs are great...

I think they should have done a 20" and 24" with a smaller chin, and have a new 30" instead. Also, like the idea of the 16:9 ratio and do like glossy screens, but I think any professional out there would rather pay the extra $100 for the screen real estate (for HD video editing) and more true contrast ratio.

  • $100 for 27 -> 30? Not going to happen.

  • im happy wit my 24 in imac

  • lol. a 27 in imac isnt something you just "pick up" seeing how its around $2000

  • Holy crap, who NEEDS a screen that big? I understand if you want the resolution but honestly? You'd have to tilt your head to look at one side of the screen..

  • A lot of people use dual monitors and that looks messy with an iMac, so you have one huge screen!

  • i agree, who in the world would want or need a screen that big? apple really have gone too far

  • having a screen this big is extremely useful. I upgrade from my regular 19" monitor to a 24" imac and having 2 open windows at once is great.

  • Oh nice, they have an SD card slot. Didnt know that!

  • at about 0:25, he has a numbers window open on the right, not a pages

  • look at the reflection of the guy in 0:48 loool he was like WTF IS THIS GUY DOING????

  • lmao

  • just bought the 2.66 quad core with 8 gig of ram... WHAT IT DO!!!!!!

  • HAHAHAH very nice sir very nice!

  • did you upload it straight from your iPhone?

  • No if it was it'd show in the information thing

  • At the Irvine Spectrum are we?

  • tasty looking computer? Um, it's not a real apple you know?

  • i hate going to the apple store, the employees there are freakin creepers

  • makes me laugh that he can even just go in and review the computer with no hassle, i went into my local apple to see the new mouse n couldn't move with the amount of people there!

  • Lol its funny how stupid ppl are listen to the PC fanboys arguements and u will laf

  • Too cheep to buy your own computer EAH ?

    ZZTWP :

  • Most people who complain about PCs being better only do it because they are too poor to afford a mac! Should have done more with your life! :)

  • PC's have better hardware for cheaper $.

Mac has weak hardware for more $.

  • Agreed.

  • Just because you say it doesn't mean it makes it true

  • lol so funny how ppl think they know, actually dont know shit ^^

  • @ bethanBB I beg to differ my friend has a big Sony Vaio laptop running windows and he is rich beyond belief his dad is an entrepreneur and he loves pc/laptops more then Mac's/Macbook's. I told him to get a Macbook just like I did and that they are more worth it but he didn't want to, he said he liked his vaio better then a macbook so it kinda just goes to show you that's its not always about affording it, it's just opinions that get in the way as well !

  • but vaios are much more overpriced than apples

the thing with apple is they deliver when it comes to quality of the hardware and software

  • Still a pretty decent deal Jon? don't think so. The only reason one would buy an Apple monitor is that you want Apple-only products, you like the Apple logo, or you are insane. The design is great, like always on apple products, but the quality is not better than other high-end displays.

  • Its not just a monitor, that is the whole computer!

  • i know, i own one :P but he was talking about even for just the monitor its a pretty sweet deal.

  • This is so cheap. I didn't even think you would resort to reviewing products in store.

  • I think they are more just first look type videos. Not actual reviews.

  • well dude its 2 grand what would you do i mean i dont have 2 grand to just run out and get one now so why do you think he dose

  • he gets them for free to review them and then he gives them back you idiot

  • he is at the apple store

  • deleted your comments huh?

  • Nope. Still there

  • omg man really?? DO you really wanna bet???

  • Can these come with screen guards? Cause i dont think i'll be able to stop myself from beatin off to this computer

  • well said.

  • full 1080p monitor on it's own costs about the same price of more. amazing design. To all the Windows PC retards, go machine yourself an aluminum chassis and try designing a Windows machine with Mac OS like this, you'll never succeed in your lifetime.

  • 21'5" Full 1080p monitor cost ~130€..

  • I dare you to find the same display Apple uses on the new iMac for $130.

    1) It's a LED display

    2) it uses In-plane switching (IPS) technology, providing a wider viewing angle and better color reproduction than cheaper Twisted nematic (TN) technology.

That's why you can use iMacs for graphic design and color correction and not a cheap $200 screen.

And yes, those things cost money.

The same reason why a BMW costs more than a Chevy although both cars drive you from A to B.

  • nnnniiccceee :) good point!

  • pjdaprinz- you're fucking stupid. matte is always the display choice for accurate srceen to print. glossy is a great display but the downside of it has always been bad for accurate colors. learn some more noob.

  • Matte is better but not necessary you moron.

Keep your environment dark and you won't have problems.

Avid is the best editing software too, but it doesn't mean you can't use Final Cut or Premiere.

  • Well glossy screen do look better but artificiality accentuate colors. Matte can look downright shitty if it's a bad screen though.

  • $1,699! Ouch!

  • quad core DAMN

  • stupid much?

  • do you reckon with the new 27" and its video input, you could use it as a capture card for a Xbox 360?

  • Twat.

  • what?!

  • You're a twat, that's what.

  • you are dumb

  • This is a great overview! I find it a little odd (and good) that you can buy a computer and use it as an external display.

    Tom

  • Looks very nice

  • Lol, this is the first time jon has to go out and take a preview of gadgets/computers.

Guess Apple don't want to send the demo of iMac to jon.

  • this computer is for ppl that are macbooks users and want to play games and how the fuck can they kill people with a MAGIC MOUSE!

  • just get a different mouse you retard

  • Swipe xDDD

  • ever heard of other mouses? logitech microsoft... hp there are tons of em

  • viewer 303

  • W0W! THEY LOOK COOl

    viewer 301!

  • Viewer 302! LOL

  • this will be my xmas gift to myself lol

  • NICE!

  • thanks again jon

  • whats the oint in using it as an external monitor?

  • I believe Apple uses the 27" iMac to target both Mac and monitors customers..

  • hahaha tasty computer

  • is not only on your fucking hands dumbass just buy it u got alot of money look all the fucking stuff u have and i dont have money sell the stuff u buy fatass

  • The whole iMac has to be turned on to be used a monitor unfortunately.

  • If anyone wants an invite to the BETA Lockerz site, send me a private message and include your email address. I'll send your invite to the email ASAP.

  • Can you be an enthusiast with any of the mac family?

  • why are macs so much more than pc

  • because they are sooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better

  • they are better, not better in the way you think im saying but have more hdd space, better resolution, etc. a PC would cost as much as a mac with all the same stuff there is no label fee, people think that but its all the same price, you pay for more features and better software

  • not to be rude but, jon why don't you just buy the imac

  • He probably will. But reasons why he might not is that the cost money and he already has the 24 inch one

  • ima pick one of those up. i bought 2 shitty dells a few years ago and they dont even work anymore. you get what you pay for i guess.

  • I don't the purpose of such a big screen if you aren't playing for games.. Mac is just so much more complicated for gaming.. compatibility for Microsoft is always the top priority for games.. Mac comes second.

  • Why didn't you film with your Sony ?

  • I played with them today too! I was surprised by how hot they were. But I want one bad! I'm not so crazy about the magic mouse though...

  • Ok so is basically an HDTV that runs on a OS. Pointless and utterly useless.

  • Youre an Idiot

  • How so?
