  • You have the nerve to act like you know about tecnology yet you are saying PSanders is using a green screen then you shoul change professions bc u cant even tell what real footage is..

  • Positive effect = ? Negative effect = viruses, hacking, Identity theft, child porn, bullying, terrorism, Big Brother watching us.OH Yes they monitor everyone i have secret c.i.a. info from uncle Ted who works there. He says they break it down into different sections of the states individually kinda like herding kattle but anyway nope we are never safe on the internet So you can buy all the security software in the world and it does'nt matter.

  • I will respond to this video via VR after I do a bit of homework.

  • dude, your screensavers are trippy.

  • Awesome dog!

  • The Internet has maximized the power to share information, communicate , and how to access that information.

If you haven't read how the Internet actually began, you've got to read:

Where Wizards Stay Up Late: The origin of the Internet

  • Where did you get that screensaver?

  • electric sheep

  • jajja nice end of video! xd

  • The internet has also helped to desensitize users. I can get online, watch a video of a suicide, then go eat dinner. someone before the internet.... well, that would be more than odd.

  • True, but for all the bad, it has been mostly good with finding information in a pinch. There are times when I in a classroom and I was able to "google" information via my iPhone.

  • You sound so clueless, sigh.

  • Can anyone tell me what Chris pirillo's screen saver is? And where/how to get it?

    Ty

  • Electric sheep. He made a video about it. Find the vid.

  • 1982? your a dinosour!! lol just kidding!

i started in 1999 i think windows 95 was my first os

  • Well said Chris

Internet is Tool and must be used for the better good .

i think that should get that kid a A +

  • #WHYinternetWHAT #liked

    #screensaverWANTED #please [;)]

  • wow, does anybody know where to get that screensaver? It looks awesome!

  • i have a twitter account = I haven't with a recount XD captions...

  • This guy is trying to imitate Glenn Beck EXACTLY

  • The internet is more like a tool-box, it can be a lot of tools for different jobs.

  • your awsome lol great video

  • 3:02 how in iraq oh this text thing is fun

  • UR A TEACHER?

  • Yes he knows all , hes like a Jedi .Chris pirillo the Jedi

  • I think developing countries had more benefit of the internet as it made it easier to get information .. if a want to search for how to treat flu in the US you have libraries but in Africa you got malaria n HIV. so a guy in Africa google for how to treat flu and get the same answer that a man in Europe or US gets.

  • u know wat i always wanted to do NO NO well i want to have a computer that looks like a rusty old ranger and rune like a JET =)

  • negative comment

  • I could see almost everything we do in the physical world become virtual also. I don't know if everyone would get totally addicted to it though. I don't know about anyone else, but I like the peace of nature and the outdoors every once in awhile.

  • im a junior

  • LOL 1980 ERmhm

  • haha, ive used a screw driver to put a nail in a block of wood, use the handle side!

  • The loss of manners is because it's not face to face. It's too easy to dehumanize strangers on here but it's also beautiful to connect on things we care about. It's how yo use the tech not the tech itself.

  • you were on Tech TV. That's why you're an expert. We always Call for Help.

  • i has been proven that because kids spend more time on the computer than in the real world their brains develope in a way that makes them unable to create detailed images in their brain, it also decreases the long term memory.

  • technoviking will be paying him a visit...

  • Fake and gay?

I just want to help prove your point. :P

  • I totally agree with the loss of civility on the internet. I like to think I express myself on the internet much like I do in real life. But anonymity has really created a somewhat anarchistic mindset when it comes to common courtesy on the internet. And I truly believe this can have a desensitizing impact on society.

Think about it, would we have tolerated TV personalities like Simon Cowell before the internet? Just a thought, even though I actually agree with him most of the time. :)

  • how old is chris

  • He is Ye'old

  • go up to your URL bar, put a Q between the words you and tube and then press enter or click go" When you are finished, check your email!

  • Best

Access to information, ability to share ideas, collaborate on projects, find and view information you want. Easy ability to engage with like minded people & friends from anywhere in the world and potentially meet new people for real outside local area, town, country. Freedom of speech.

    Worst

Potentially negative impact on local communities etc. Kids spending more time in virtual spaces vs real world. Potentially being negatively influenced by undesirable internet content. Work all the time

  • 60 % nega

    40% postive

  • ye me to chris, your the best.

  • I would like to comment on question #2 - The negative aspect of the internet to me would be the "feeling" of a person. Alot of information that is share from one person to another might lead to false "feeling" or someone real intent. I've posted comments on forum and recieve negative responce, when my intent were not to be rude, but was taken as being so. So many people don't know what constructive criticism, or tell me that I have no place to talk, and they don't even know me.

  • @tinkertron If they responded as such, it is your responsibility to make sure misunderstandings are worked out. You can't just dump all the blame on everyone else.

  • What a great last name Watson,lol

  • NEGATIVE!

  • lmao i havent heard anyone use the word SLAM in like...decades.

  • I use the internet for almost all of my homework problems

  • internet provides quick access to heaps of information. and porn.

  • oh by the way...i think the internet has totally seperated us..yet totally connects us together...ironic, eh?

  • where did u get ur screensavers? ur pretty cute for an old geek!

  • go up to your URL bar, put a Q between the words you and tube and then press enter or click go"

  • the internet was actually around in the 70s

  • Just like your mum

  • actually yes. So you don't win little boy :3

  • I love you!!

  • I subed to john4lakers he does some cool videos 2

  • @CornerTech we know that

  • how old is he?

  • dam those scrn savers look good on HD

  • where did he get those screen savers?

  • Electric Sheep.

  • Chris, I'm 35 years old and you answered exactly how I was going to respond to the question.

    Best:

Access to information. Kids today don't know how hard it was for us to research for our school projects. Going or even just finding a way to get to the local library to research was a big ordeal. Then, once you get there, you find out the books/encyclopeida you really needed was already checked out or missing.

    Worse:

Rude & inconsiderate people and trash-talk, as Chris pointed out.

  • I don't know about the whole "not-having-to-look-up-information-in-an-actual-book" thing. When we do research papers at my high school, we can only use one internet source, and the rest has to come from books. So I don't think that's totally true yet.

  • LOL 2:05

  • Where did u get your screen savers?

  • The screensaver is Electric Sheep, available for any operating system.

  • Its partly true. Chris did train to become an english teacher. However he never bothered to become one.

  • Chris has a degree in education? Lol

  • he can teach nouns and verbs lol

  • does he teach at a school during the day i just thought he did this all day

  • so, if I were to insult him, while being gramitically correct (i know i spelled that wrong), he would lose? thats what im thinking...

  • Life without internet would be 10 rimes harder for school work.

  • fake and gay

  • The story of your life.

  • i actully had this question too!

  • hey i am too lol but im in middle school (8th grade)

  • that poor doggie looked scared in the end!

    poor doggie

  • go up to your address bar, put the letter "Q" between the words you and tube, then press enter or click go

  • I know Chris might have been joking or whatever, but is he really an English teacher

  • Idk, is he? lol.

  • Yes, he a degree in English.

  • has*

  • woa im doing a exit project on the impact of the internet for 8th grade s.s

  • what are those screensavers called ??

  • I say "That's how I roll!", but that's just how I roll.

  • this comment is negative

  • it has also been rated negative.

  • lol

  • for question #2, it should be that it allows big brother to spy on us and mess with our lives

  • The problem with the internet is that people think they can be asses and get away with it, so they are.

Anyone can get on it, and that's a bad thing.

  • but it is also a good thing too

  • I think the most negative part of the internet is lack of proper socialization. When you are chatting, no feelings can get across, you can't tell tone of voice, and you can't read facial expression.

  • yeah!

  • If there wasn't the internet i wouldn't have met my soul mate. Negatively it has most teenagers more stupid.

  • I honestly can't look at my computer screen with that seizure inducing raver screen saver on the dual monitors.

  • does ANYONE know wut the screensaver/virtualiser on his screens in the background is???

    please answer,

    thnx

  • they are electric sheep

  • he did a video on his SS. check out his channel to find out. (the video about HQ vids vs HD vids.)

  • Eek! Extreme closeup! D:

Had to back up a bit with this quality...

  • I think people forget the internet is still a personal way of communicating. There are people on the other end of "the series of tubes". We can develop great relationships over the web that are just as vital as the ones with our neighbors. We can also cause just as much change, if not more, as we can with traditional gatherings. I feel so attached to people I talk to online even if they are on the other side of the world. I find my self telling stories about online conversations and conflicts.

  • the power of ANONYMOUS shall rule the world once moar!!!

all your base are belong to us!

  • lol @ 2:06

    what was that Chris? 1984?

  • no! he said nineteen eighty hurblulbb

  • speccy 4 eyes :D

  • Lol if this was played in a school all they would be looking at is the backgrounds.

  • Yea they would give Michael a A+ lol

  • chris use to be an english teacher?

  • Very Nice.

  • @02:06" when I was i high school back in 198~Wshuuuu^^ ahahaha wow ^^

  • What screensaver is that?? it is cool I wanna use it.

  • how old is chris?

  • 36 Years old

  • @slingingshot15 Chris is Thir-*cough cough!*... he's said it plenty of times ;)

  • @slingingshot15 hes thirty six or has he says it 30 *cough* *really really faint 6* *cough*

  • that is so true about the negative effects

  • you remind me of the kids from Stephen King's IT. Ur awesome! Enjoy ur vids :D

  • Interesting...

  • that was very interesting, and enlightening.

  • Next level of our evolution

Instant Transportation of people, things, and places

and Major Duplication and Open source outside of the internet.

and the Internet and 3D world will become combined and interactive.

all this in the next 10 years

It depends how responsible we are going to be with New developing technologies.

  • your saying that the internett=power...and so its internett=porn=power....so there you have it PORN=power

    internett=power

    Porn=masterbation

  • noice xD

  • LOL

  • did he get mad for a second there?

  • Instant information...on the go with a cellphone or laptop. Where will we be in 5 years?

  • aww the end was cute :P

  • You forgot about information overload and shorten attention spans.

  • Lol, he said 1984 :) OLDIE! jk

  • can u take off that back round of your screens plz

  • @downthehill17

    Eleptical attack?

  • part 2..... to make arpanet more realiable then the phone companies made there own computer protocal which banks started using to keep transactions and connect with others and major companies as well then when microcomputers came and through a dial up modem you could visit your bacnk account and the airport schaudle after that everything took off and internet was born

  • internet started as arpanet using radio signals in the late 40's so the military could connect to there allies aswell after they discovered that nucleur impacts destroyed radio signals they created a shot a bunch of facilities every couple og kilometers that were connected together

  • Ease of information is both a good and bad aspect of the internet. Yes it so convenient but that also means that ANYONE can post.

Because of this, you can't trust the accuracy of internet sources as opposed to printed information which is alot more carefully written to guarentee accuracy.

I have had several professors not even allow internet sources to be used for research because of this though shutting out this venue of info is not the answer as long as we use it carefully & inquisitively.

  • This is a huge topic, i don't know where to start from... Since my sector is IT engineering and e-business, i can say from that view that internet completely changed the business and industry models, mainly by reducing the biggest cost a company may have to deal with: the cost of product searching. Except from that, functional costs are way cheaper, a simple example: a business that uses electronic invoices saves at least 400% more money instead of using paper invoices. And the list goes on...

  • holy shit i went to school with him,no joke

  • I have to agree the number one thing that the internet is good for is making information easy to get, here are a few examples.

911, Military's, Parents, Search & Rescue, Library's, Hospitals, Convenience Stores and Bank also so so many more people use the internet to send or receive information this way.

Its a tool that can be used in every day life in almost every person can get some benefit from the internet.

That being said it can certainly be used for bad, we all know that''

  • Well the impact on me is that it has provide a job for many years as I am a web developer. Life without the internet would just mean we would be less connected and information would still be less accessible. I agree on the civility issue but it isn't just the internet. The generations of today are less civil wether online or off. Oh and yes I read your sidebar. :)

  • Comment removed

  • ur prob just asking cuz u get the money 4 it if u use ur email
