have travelled a lot but have been to Thailand twice because its one of the most picture perfect places i .have ever seen.and am thinking of going again would advise anyone to try it at least once
get rid of all the people and its paradise which is obviously impossible, but one day I will, someone out there has found it and has no need to tell us, why would you. maybe grow some opiutes lounge around with no clothes..........for now the closest point of phrase is a good dream.
Just curious- as a traveler who seeks seclusion and peace would thailand be right for me? Ive been watching "the beach" like every day, and love it, but when I see pictures of the actual beach it's always heavily crowded. Did you have a problem with overpopulation or was it still a quiet paradise?...also, did you make it to phi phi le? The island that "the beach" resides.
I've travelled fairly extensively but have to say that Thailand is beautiful. I've seen The Beach several times and it's a fair representation. Cities such as Bangkok are electric and full of life, but the further you move away, the more relaxed it gets. Samui is lovely and away from the main resorts of Chaweng and Lamai, you'll find some great beaches and beautiful scenery. Take a look at the TripAdvisor site and read reviews from people who have also been.

This is not Ang Thing province near Ayythaya, but Ang Thong Marine Park in the Gulf of Thailand.
