i dont give a fuck what anyone has to say. They were for mother-fucking real. they should have been huge. I dug them big in Iraq 1990. Still digging them 2009.
Damn straight and they would have been huge if it weren't for MCA dropping the ball on promotion. This was a record label slaughter of the superstar band that never was. They broke up a few years after the second cd and they should have had 10 more cd's behind that one, but MCA FAUKED THEM and robbed the world of one of the hair bands that was to compete with the new grunge sound of the early 90's.
Fukk Universal Music! They dropped Spread Eagle during grunge years while this band was making them money. And they have the gall to still list this awesome band as part of their video list.
It's a record label. They're a business. If you haven't figured out that business revolves around money rather than honor I will assume you rode the retard bus here. IDIOT.
You're not getting my point IDIOT, Universal dropped the band while the band was making them money. That's business.. Playing a video from a band they dropped, meaning the CD's are out of print does not make Universal any money.
You're not getting my point. They own the rights to the fucking video, so they can do whatever the hell they want with it. And if someone see's the video and buys the album from the back catalogue, it would make them money. This means Universal still makes all (but the royalty) of the money from any copies of this record sold. Therefore, Universal put it on YouTube, and could still make a profit from doing so. Thanks for attending class today, you stupid douchebag. oh, and... IDIOT!
Now you're digging yourself into a hole. Sure Universal can do what they want with the video but dropped the band and NOBODY could buy a Spread Eagle CD because it was unavailable to order! That means NO MONEY could be made from Spread Eagle CD sales by posting a video by a band that they dropped because there WAS NO BACK CATALOG. Period. With that being said a small label picked them up -BUT the fact remains Universal posted this video before the CD was reissued so you're still wrong IDIOT.
Sorry. I guess I have better things to do than research relatively unknown bands from the '80's on the internet. I was simply making assumptions based on how most record labels work.
I like the arangement on the CD better. The chorus doesn't come in untill after the second verse. This has a more live feel though. Great band that didn't get the regognition they deserved.
kinda hard to find to download, but it's finally been reissued, so you can pick it up pretty cheap on amazon now. I think I saw used copies for around 10 bucks, totally worth it
Just stumbled on these guys yesterday. I thought I knew every "good" 80's (or 80s holdover in this case....kinda like the first Lynch Mob album) band in the books.
this song is awesome but the lead singer looks like a girl lmao....like when him and his girlfriend fight in this video i cant figure out whos the guy lol
Not a lot of peple know...these guys where the real dael, they fought, they drank more booze than motley, and the singer got aressted 4 times for beating his girl...I saw them in 91...those guys were so insane, it was almost scary, there was 4 aressts that night, and 2 of them were the bass and guitar player...the song switchblade by the way is about rape...those guys were scary...great hard slezze metal at its best...we need spread e back to scare the world again.
Switchblade Seranade is not about rape. It is about a relationship that goes bad. I personally know Ray West. I used to hang out with him and our friends in NY back in 1992 and have talked to him recently.
That's awesome! I heard rumors that they were back together again? Are you able to confirm this? Also...tell Ray that there are two huge fans in Michigan (Myself and my guitar instructor) that can't wait to hear new material!

I am so sick of most of today's music..What happened to MTV???
It's been since late 80's-I was fortunate to have spent some time after hours, (pool & Drinks) with the band (The Jar) Phoenix. It was like an explosion hit Phx, & they were gone, they are truely missed!!!! Thanks for the blast from my pasttttt!!!!

Not as good as the album version but still brilliant. Is there a category tech-glam, course these guys were it. Amazing melodic guitar player and well such a great band.

This entire song blows me away! The guitar player is very mature, and his style in the sole reminds me of the passion that I always found in Randy Rhoads playing. The singer has a really good voice too, sort of Tesla/Tora Tora like. Anyway, thanks! ROCK ON!
